In the 21st century knowledge-and-information-oriented age, individual diversity is emphasized, and information acquisition and consumption levels are heightened. This trend of the times refuses to accept the mass production system centering around the competition in price. In consequence, inevitably does come the age of value created in which quality goods are produced by the multikind and small quantitiy production system. Design along with information and communication as 21st century knowledge-based business is gaining ground as a main factor national competitiveness is dependent upon in this age. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the process and realities of the establishment of a firm specialized in venture design, both one of knowledge-based business and one factor which decides whether in the knowledge-and-information-oriented age, the millennium, our country will gain ground as one of the leading countries in the world or it will set in the west just like the twilight of the 20th century, and try to pave the way to promote the establishment of design venture required by this age. In a knowledge-based economic society, working methods are more important than working hours, and technical knowledge is more important than general knowledge. Desire for self-achievement is to be stronger than unilateral sense of loyalty to an organization. For the country in which there are many men of great originality who can enhance value added through incessant self-improvement, self-development and self -reformation can secure competitiveness among nations in the upcoming century.
N - [1 -(benzotriazol - 1- yl) aryl] - aniline 유도체의 항균성과 정량적 구조 - 활성 관계(QSAR)

일련의 새로운 N-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)aryl]-anilille 유도체를 합성하고 한천희석법으로 측정된 벼 멸구균(Pyricularia oryzae), 참깨 시들음병균(Fusarium oxysporum. F. sp. sesami) 및 사과 부란병균(Valsa ceratasperma)에 대한 항균활성(pI_50)과 X(1) 및 Y(2) 치환기 변화에 따른 physicochemical parameters로부터 정량적인 구조-활성 관계(QSAR)를 분석한 바, π>0으로부터 비극성 치환체일수록 fungus cell 속으로 침투가 촉진되거나 receptor 작용점과의 소수성결합 형성에 기여함으로써 4-치환기들의 hydrophobicity (π)가 항균활성을 증가시키는 가장 중요한 요소이었다. 특히, 4-bromo 치환체(Id)가 항균활동이 가장 큰 화합물이었으며, 중성 pH에서 비치환성(4-H)의 반감기는 약 1.5일이었다.
Ni / γ- Al2O3 촉매상에서 이산화탄소에 의한 프로판의 개질

본 연구는 펄스 반응기 및 고정층 연속반응기를 사용하여 γ-알루미나에 담지된 니켈촉매상에서 이산화탄소에 의한 프로판의 개질반응 특성을 고찰한 것이다. Ni/γ-Al₂O₃촉매가 NiO/γ-Al₂O₃촉매보다 CO₂의 해리능력과 프로판의 개질 능력이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 프로판과 CO₂의 혼합물에 산소를 추가한 결과 프로판의 전환율이 증가하였고 표면의 탄소침적도 감소함을 알 수 있었다. Ni/γ-Al₂O₃와 Ga₂O₃의 기계적 혼합 촉매는 Ni/γ-Al₂O₃자체보다 촉매의 활성이 오래 유지되었고 두 상의 협동에 의한 상승효과(synergistic effect)가 관찰되었다. The presence of oxygen in the reaction mixture of pmpane and CO₂ increased the conversion of propane and reduced the amount of carbon deposit on the catalyst surface. Mechanical mixture catalyst of Ni/γ-Al₂O₃ and Ga₂O₃ showed higher stability to deactivation than Ni/γ-Al₂O₃ itself. The synergistic effect between Ni/γ-Al₂O₃ and Ga₂O₃ was also observed in this study.

A theoretical model for laminar filmwise condensation along an isothermal vertical wall at constant pressure has been formulated on the basis of conservation laws and other fundamental physical principles. The model was applied to the prediction of the influences of variable thermophysical properties of liquid and vapor layers in the filmwise condensation of superheated vapor of Rl2, R134a, R142b and R152a. The dimensionless velocity component method was employed in the transformation of the governing equations and their boundary conditions, and the polynomial method was used for treating variable thermophysical properties of liquid and vapor. Physical quantities, such as the dimensionless thickness of the liquid layer, local heat transfer rate and mean heat transfer coefficient, were investigated for different values of the superheated temperature of the stagnant vapor far from the wall. It was found that the value of mean heat transfer coefficient of R134a was higher than other refrigerants for the change of the superheated temperature.

Tracheostomy in children : a nine-year experience in a tertiary hospital in Korea

Objectives: Tracheostomy has been increasingly performed in children, aligned with the improvements in neonatal and pediatric ICU care. The objective of this study is to describe the indications, comorbidities, complications, and outcomes of tracheostomy in children in a tertiary hospital. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of children who required tracheostomy at a tertiary hospital in Korea between April 2009 and March 2018. The medical records of the patients were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. Results: A total of 41 children underwent tracheostomy. The median age of the patients was 11.9 (IQR, 5.4-179.2) months, and 20 (48.8%) were boys. Tracheostomy was performed commonly in respiratory disease (12, 29.2%) and neurologic disease (17, 41.5%). Congenital heart disease was most common comorbidities in children with tracheostomy. Length of intubation and hospitalization were longer in preterm infants (15, 36.6%); however, there was a trend towards higher decannulation rate (42.9%) and lower complications (14.3%) at 12 months after tracheostomy among the patients born at earlier gestational ages. Conclusion: Among children with tracheostomy in this cohort, the most common indications are respiratory disease and neurologic disease. Higher decannulation rate and lower complications were found in preterm infants.
