Recently there have been many studies on developing trains, automobiles, etc. into the higher speed and lighter weight condition. In order to get the lighter weight of a wagon, conventionally the cast steel structure was used, but nowadays the welded structure of rolled steel has replaced it for the manufacturing. These structures have many merits but some defects. so that, there would be able to happen the damage of life and property on account of some un-anticipated accidents in spite of the safety design of the structures. Therefore, for safety operation, the stress analysis by using strain gauge method should be taken on the developed test car to find out any weak points and strengthen them additionally. This study deals with the strength test by strain gauge method for Sabah underframe wagons designed and made in the Korea Shipbuilding & Engineering Corp. And the stress and deflections of the underframe were measured by strain gauge method, the strength was analyzed and the safety was considered to find out weak points and to carry out additional strengthening design and manufacturing.

Machine structures, aircraft and pressure vessel etc. are designed by fail-safe or safe-fail concept but on the basis of existance of internal defect or crack initiation in early stage of fatigue life. Failure or fracture of machine structures is mainly occured by fatigue and relation between stress intensity factor range and crack growth rate can predict remaining life in components containing through-the-thickness crack but fatigue life of smooth specimen is dependent of initiation, growth and coalescene of micro-crack. Therefore, this paper presents relation between statistical properties of micro crack and fatigue life ratio in age-hardened Al 2024-T3 tested in-plane bending.

The corrosion fatigue test was conducted in air to investigate the corrosion fatigue strength of SM 30 C steel by which was corroded in the under sea and the sea surface in the conditions of 3.0% NaCl salt solution. The fatigue tests were carried out on a rotary bending testing machine of cantilever type. The corrosion effect of the sea surface condition was severed more than that of the under sea condition which was due to the periodic contact of air thus accelerated the corrosion. The difference of the fatigue strength between sea surface and under sea conditions decreased with increase of stress level and corroded period. In the case of the solid shaft and thickness 2㎜ of hollow shaft, the difference of corrosion fatigue strength decreased as stress level and corrosion periodic increasing. On the contrary in the case of thickness 1㎜ of hollow shaft, the difference of it increased as stress level, corrosion periodic increasing and also the condition of corrosion changed. The main factors affecting the degradation of fatigue strength due to corrosion were the reduction of sectional area and the increase of surface roughness. The interference phenomenon increased with stress level got higher.

Gliosarcoma (GS) is a rare variant (2%) of glioblastoma (GBM) that poses clinical genomic challenges because of its poor prognosis and limited genomic information. To gain a comprehensive view of the genomic alterations in GS and to understand the molecular etiology of GS, we applied whole-exome sequencing analyses for 28 GS cases (6 blood-matched fresh-frozen tissues for the discovery set, 22 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues for the validation set) and copy-number variation microarrays for 5 blood-matched fresh-frozen tissues. TP53 mutations were more prevalent in the GS cases (20/28, 70%) compared to the GBM cases (29/90, 32%), and the GS patients with TP53 mutations showed a significantly shorter survival (multivariate Cox analysis, hazard ratio=23.9, 95% confidence interval, 2.87–199.63, P=0.003). A pathway analysis showed recurrent alterations in MAPK signaling (EGFR, RASGRF2 and TP53), phosphatidylinositol/calcium signaling (CACNA1s, PLCs and ITPRs) and focal adhesion/tight junction (PTEN and PAK3) pathways. Genomic profiling of the matched recurrent GS cases detected the occurrence of TP53 mutations in two recurrent GS cases, which suggests that TP53 mutations play a role in treatment resistance. Functionally, we found that TP53 mutations are associated with the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) process of sarcomatous components of GS. We provide the first comprehensive genome-wide genetic alternation profiling of GS, which suggests novel prognostic subgroups in GS patients based on their TP53 mutation status and provides new insight in the pathogenesis and targeted treatment of GS.

In mechanical industries, forging is one of the basic process. But comparing the other developed industries, forging industries can not reach at the level of that development. In forging industries, the quality of the products are totally depends on the skills of workers and also the precision of the equipments. Especially in case of open die forging, all processes are manual and the workforce are always exposed to danger. So keeping in view the aspect of danger during open die forging, a development of system has been made in this research, which is based on forklift. In the regard some additional device has been made especially. After than it is fitted with the forklift for safe and easy handling of jobs and products during open die forging process. First of all, development system mold has been assembled to the system, after than it is assembled with forklift. This development system has been applied for handling of large scale products over 300Kg, and the satisfactory result with uniform quality of the products have been achieved due to this mechanical setup.
