This study has been concentrated on the relations between the crack growth rate and the stress intensity factor, the fatigue limit and finally on the condition of the crack propagation across the laminated cross section of the laminated steel under repeated plane bending through tests. The following results are obtained. 1. The fatigue limit of the laminated steel is higher than the single steel. 2. The relations between the fatigue crack growth rate, da/dN and stress intensity factor are; da/dN=2.04×10 exp (-9)k^2.45 ....................for SUP9 specimen da/dN=3.50×10 exp (-8)k^1.86 ....................for 5LSM specimen da/dN=2.62×10 exp (-8)k^1.93 ....................for 7LSM specimen da/dN=2.36×10 exp (-8)k^1.87 ....................for 7TLSM specimen 3. The crack propagation of the laminated steel also tends to be completed through 3 steps: the first step proceeds swiftly in a second, the second slowly for a long time and last very rapidly for a short moment. The formular of crack length can be shown as follows. log a=BN+log b 4. The fact that the strain rate and the impact value is more than a single spring steel seems to make the fatigue limit higher.

Laminated steel composites are made from spring steel and mild steel by rolling process. Experiments for impact test are carried out and the fracture behavior of laminated steel composites are compared with that of homogeneous steel. Also, fracture models of laminate composites are analyzedby finite element method and the computed fracture stress is compared with experimental results.

With the development of creative and original production skills, Korean industry has reached another stage of advanced industrial structure which is quite different from the past production systems of putting partly manufactured products together or of imitating. To keep up this kind of industrial growth, a closer cooperation and help between industry and academic circle is needed more than ever before. They are interdependent; the former bringing up questions as well as the latest industrial (work-level) information to schools and the latter in turn helping the industry by doing so many researches and providing well-trained technicians. This paper aims at raising some questions about the methods in current teaching Graphics and Drawing at engineering colleges and suggesting a better solution for them. To do this, the author of this paper analyzed curriculum of national and international colleges of enginering with special interest in teaching general graphics and drawing. And at the same time, opinions of graduates from engineering colleges who are now working at industries were collected and analyzed.
