하드웨어 소프트웨어 Co-Design을 통한 MP3 부호화 칩 설계

MP3 부호화 칩을 하드웨어와 소프트웨어 Co-design 개념을 이용하여 설계하고 칩으로 제작하였다. 소프트웨어적인 측면에서 MP3 부호화과정에서 계산량이 가장 많은 distortion control loop를 scale factor pre-calculation을 통하여 계산량을 $67\%$까지 줄였다. 하드웨어적인 측면에서 고속연산이 가능한 32비트 부동소수점 DSP 코어와 Fn (Fast Fourier Transform) 블록의 하드웨어 구현을 통하여 계산량을 줄였다. 설계된 칩을 하드웨어 에뮬레이션을 통하여 검증한 후 0.25um CMOS 공정을 이용하여 제작하였다. 제작된 칩의 크기는 $6.2{\time}6.2mm^2$이었으며, 제작된 칩은 테스트 보드상에서 정성적 정량적인 측면에서 정상적으로 동작하는 것을 확인하였다. An MP3 encoder chip has been designed and fabricated with the hardware and software co-design concepts. In the aspect of the software. the calculation cycles of the distortion control loop. which requires most of the calculation cycles in MP3 encoding procedure. have been reduced to $67\%$ of the original algorithm through the 'scale factor Pre-calculation'. By using a floating Point 32 bit DSP core and designing the FFT block with the hardware. we can get the additional reduction of the calculation cycles in addition to the software optimization. The designed chip has been verified using HW emulation and fabricated via 0.25um CMOS technology The fabricated chip has the size of $6.2{\time}6.2mm^2$ and operates normally on the test board in the qualitative and quantitative aspect.
수명의 불확실성을 반영한 추계학적 장비 대체시기 결정모형

Equipment replacement policy may not be defined with certainty, because physical states of any technological system may not be determined with foresight. This paper presents Markov Decision Process(MDP) model for army equipment which is subject to the uncertainty of deterioration and ultimately to failure. The components of the MDP model is defined as follows: ⅰ) state is identified as the age of the equipment, ⅱ) actions are classified as 'keep' and 'replace', ⅲ) cost is defined as the expected cost per unit time associated with 'keep' and 'replace' actions, ⅳ) transition probability is derived from Weibull distribution. Using the MDP model, we can determine the optimal replacement policy for an army equipment replacement problem.

This study is conducted to improve productivity of Tartary buckwheat in Korea based on the comprehension of local adaptability for cultivation across the nation. Cultivation of Tartary buckwheat was attempted in Suwon, Chunchon, Kangneung, Yunchon, and Taean to determine local adaptability for cultivation. Plant height was highest in plants grown in Yunchon(116.3cm) and lowest in those of Suwon(89.2cm). Plants grown in Kangneung were highest in number of leaf and fresh weight of a plant. In five locations, number of grains per plant ranged from 230 in Taean to 403 in Chunchon while grain weight per plant ranged 4.53g in Taean to 7.80g in Chunchon. Total seed yield/10a was estimated to be respectively 104.4kg in Suwon, 173.3kg in Chunchon, 122.2kg in Kangneung, 148.9kg in Yunchon, and 100.0kg in Taean. In this study, it was concluded that yield of seed and whole plant was highest in plants grwon in Chunchon but rutin content in seeds was highest in plants grown in Taean. 본 연구는 근래 재배 및 이용에 대한 관심이 확대되고 있는 타타리메밀의 국내 대량생산 및 생산성 증대를 목적으로 몇몇 지역에서의 재배 적응성을 검토한 것이다. 초장은 연천이 116.3cm으로 가장 길고, 수원이 89.2cm로 가장 짧았다. 전체적인 지상부 생체중은 강릉이 가장 높았다. 타타리메밀의 주당 종실수량은 춘천이 7.8g로 가장 좋았으며 연천이 6.7g, 강릉이 5.5g, 수원이 4.63g, 태안이 4.5g 순이었다. 주당 종자중을 10a당으로 환산하여 추정한 10a당 종실수량은 수원 104.4kg, 춘천 173.3kg, 강릉 122.2kg, 연천 148.9kg, 태안 100.0kg 등으로 춘천지역의 수량이 가장 높게 나타났다. 타타리메밀의 루틴 함량은 연천지역에서 1,161.1mg/100g과 강릉지역에서 1,276.6mg/100g로 낮은 함량을 보였고, 수원에서는 1,549.7mg/100g이고 태안에서 1,940.1mg/100g로 비교적 높은 함량을 나타냈다.
자동차 Steering Wheel 제조공정의 누적수율 개선을 위한 6시그마 적용사례

This paper presents a six sigma application case study for an automobile steering wheel manufacturing process using rolled throughput yield improvement activity. Hidden factory and first pass yield concept is introduced and a DMAIC procedure is implemented to maximize the first pass yield. The result of the six sigma project amounts to the reduction of failure cost of 1.2 billion won per year in the steering wheel manufacturing process. This paper can benefit six sigma practitioners in some ways.
