Benign solitary schwannoma of the chest wall is rare disease. A 46-year old female patient was admitted to our hospital for the abnormal shadow on the chest roentgenogram. Chest X-ray and CT scan revealed a mass on the left lateral chest wall, Oh left lateral thoracotomy, this mass was turned out to be a hens egg sized mass of the inner chest wall. The mass was excised with ease. Histological section revealed a typical neurilemmoma. A brief rveiw of the literatures is given.
Tetrazole Tethered Polyacrylonitrile Based Gel Polymer Electrolyte for Lithium-ion Batteries

Gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) based Li-ion battery application have been studied seriously so far. However polymer based GPE exhibit low Li-ion conductivity and mechanical stability, which may be related their limited electrolyte uptake. To solve this problem, I propose to investigate tetrazole tethered PANVDA GPE to gain a better understanding on the effect of interactions between polar nitrile functions and tetrazole functions with lithium ions. The GPEs with a proper amount of liquid electrolyte exhibited a desirable ionic conductivity of 1.22 X 10<sup>-3</sup> S/cm<sup>-1</sup> at 25 ℃, The objective of this study was to correlate the interactions and the electrolyte uptake to the GPE’s electrochemical properties to determine which ratio of PANVDA composition is most favorable to enhancing GPE conductivity. Finally, the PANVDAC GPE was tested in a half cell with lithium metal and LTO composite electrodes leading to a capacity of 127 mAh/g at a discharge rate of 0.5C after 100 cycle.

Arrùno acid transpoπers play an important role in supplying nutrition to cells and for cell proliferation. System L is a major nutrient transport system responsible for the Na+-independent transport of large neutral amino acids including several essential amino acids. In malignant tumors, a system L transporter L-type amino acid transporter 1 (LATl) is upregulated to support tumor cell growth. In the present study, we have examined the expression and function of system L amino acid transporter in FaDu human pharyngeal squamous carcinoma cells. RT-PCR, real-time quantitative RT-PCR and westem blot analysis have revealed that the FaDu cells express LATl together with its associaω19 protem 4F2hc, whereas the FaDu cells do not express the other system L isoform L-type amino acid transporter 2 (LAT2). 까le uptake of L-(14Clleucine by FaDu cells is Na+-independent and almost completely inhibited by system L selective inhibitor 2-aminobicyclo-(2,2,1)-heptane-2- carboxylic acid (BCH). The profiles of the inhibition of L-[I4Cllellcine uptake by variolls amino acids in the FaDu cells are comparable with those for the LA T1 expressed in Xenopus 。()(찌es. π1e majority of L-[I4Clleucine uptake is, therefore, mediated by LAT1 in the FaDu cells. These results suggest that the transport of neutral amino acids including several essential amino acids in the FaDu human pharyngeal squamous carcinoma cells mediated by LAT1. In addition, specific inhibition of LAT1 by such agents as BCH in pharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas will be a new rationale for anti-cancer therapy.

Photo responsive polymer(PRP) is well known for its photo deformation under UV light, and goes back to its original shape in visible light due to the photoisomerization of the azobenzene inside the PRP. In this paper, dynamic study of the vibration in PRP is discussed. In order to predict photo-deformation of the PRP a multiscale modeling is introduced which covers quantum level photo excitation, microscopic morphology, and macroscopic deformation of the PRP. A simple 1D beam model is introduced to model dynamic bending behavior of the PRP. Through fast Fourious transformation analysis, we identify that vibration frequency of the PRP can be controlled by light polarization angle.

The gradually increasing LAT1 and 4F2hc expression detected during the multistep progressive change shows that the protein may have an important role i n the multistep tongue c arcinogenesis. Conclusively, LAT1 and 4F2 hc c an b e a useful b iomarker f or a better understanding of multistep tongue carcinogenesis, while the specific inhibition o f LAT1 and 4F2 hc would be a new rationale for suppressing tumor cell growth in tongue cancer.</P>
