EXAMPLES OF KNOTS IN S3 ADMITTING SEIFERT-FIBERED SURGERIES OVER S2 WITH FOUR EXCEPTIONAL FIBERS

In [4] Miyazaki and Motegi constructed one family ofknots in S3 which admits Dehn surgery producing a Seifert-beredspace over S2 with four exceptional bers. On the other hand,in [3] using doubly hyper Seifert twisted torus knots, the authorconstructed six families of knots in S3 which admit Dehn surgeryyielding a Seifert-bered space over S2 with four exceptional bers. It is questioned in [3] whether or not the family of the knots con-structed in [4] belongs to one of the six families of the knots in [3]. In this paper, we give the positive answer for this question.
Dehn surgeries on middle/hyper doubly Seifert twisted torus knots

In this paper, we classify all twisted torus knots which are middle/hyper doubly Seifert. By the definition of middle/hyper doubly Seifert knots, these knots admit Dehn surgery yielding either Seifert-fibered spaces or graph manifolds at a surface slope. We show that middle/hyper doubly Seifert twisted torus knots admit the latter, that is, non-Seifert-fibered graph manifolds whose decomposing pieces consist of two Seifert-fibered spaces over the disk with two exceptional fibers.

University Research Centers specialized in defense technology(DURCs) were designed to develop fundamental knowledge and to acquire core technologies related to defense development by conducting creative and interdisciplinary research. The centers also have a function of fostering scientists and practitioners possessing defense-oriented cross-disciplinary knowledges. Since the outset of the DURC in 1994, Sixteen DURCs have been funded and eleven DURCs are now in operation. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the operational status and the performance of DURCs and to suggest ideas on improving the effectiveness of the DURC program by comparing with the Korea Excellent Research Center program and the U.S. National Science Foundation(NSF) Engineering Research Center(ERC) program.
황반박리를 동반한 열공성망막박리환자에서 공막돌륭술 후 시력결과에 미치는 수술전 요인

Purpose: To investigate the factors affecting the visual outcome after a scleral buckle in a rhegmatogenous retinal detachment involving the macula. Methods: A retrospective survey of 70 eyes was carried out. The preoperative factors examined in this study included the preoperative visual acuity, the patient‘s age, the duration of macular detachment, the extent of the detached retina, the location of the retinal hole, and the surgical procedure. The correlation between these factors and the postoperative visual outcome were investigated. Results: The factors related to a favorable visual outcome were the preoperative visual acuity, age, the duration of macular detachment, surgical procedure, and the location of the retinal hole. A preoperative visual acuity of 0.1 or more, an age of 30 years or less, a detached retina of 2 quadrants or less, and duration of macular detachment of 7 days or less were factors that indicated a favorable visual outcome. The surgical procedure and the location of the retinal hole were not associated with the visual outcome. Conclusions: The factors related to a favorable visual outcome were a preoperative visual acuity of 0.2 or higher, an age of 30 or less, a detached retina of 2 quadrants or less, and duration of the macular detachment of 7 days or less. The location of the retinal hole, however, did not affect the visual outcome.
초음파 영상선호의 크기 변화에 따른 최적의 매니코어 프로세서 구조

본 논문은 휴대용 초음파 진단기기에서 초음파 영상 크기 변화에 따라 요구되어지는 저전력 및 고성능을 만족시키기 위한 최적의 매니코어 프로세서 구조를 제안한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 매니코어 프로세서 코어의 구조를 데이터의 크기에 따라 최대 일곱 가지의 프로세싱 엘리먼트(Processing Element, PE) 모델에서 성능 변화 및 전력 소모를 측정하였다. 모의실험 결과, 에너지 효율은 $256{\times}256$, $320{\times}240$, $800{\times}480$ 해상도를 갖는 영상에서 PE 수가 각각 1,024개, 64개, 256개 일 때 가장 높았다. 또한 $256{\times}256$와 $800{\times}480$ 해상도의 영상에서는 PE 수가 256개, $320{\times}240$ 해상도의 영상에서는 64개에서 가장 높은 면적 효율을 보였다. This paper proposes an optima] many-core processor architecture that meets the requirements of low power and high performance for different ultrasonic image resolutions in hand-held ultrasonic devices. To identify the optimal many-core architecture, seven different PE configurations are simulated for processing ultrasonic images in terms of execution performance and energy consumption. Experimental results indicate that the highest energy efficiencies are achieved at PEs=1,024, 64, and 256 for ultrasonic images at $256{\times}256$, $320{\times}240$, and $800{\times}480$ resolutions, respectively. In addition, the maximum area efficiencies are obtained at PEs=256 (for $256{\times}256$ and $800{\times}480$ image resolutions) and 64 (for $320{\times}240$ image resolution).
熱刺戟 電流法에 依한 MOS酸化層內 移動性 陽이온의 擧動에 關한 考察

TSIC(Thermally stimulated ionic current) method, based on the repeated measurements with various heating rates, has been used to investigate the kinetic behavior of mobile ions in the SiO₂layers of an Al-SiO₂-Si system. Experimental results have shown two current peaks at the temperature ranges of 80℃-120℃(A peak) and 400℃-450℃(B peak) respectively, which are caused by the release of Na+ ions and K+ ions trapped at the Al-SiO₂ interface and the Si-SiO₂ interface respectively, in a MOS structure. From the results, activation energies (E), attempt-to-escape frequencies (S) and the initial number of trapped ions(n。)are evaluated for each group by the various heating rate method. According to the values of E.S and n。, it is found that deeper traps are distributed in the Si-SiO₂ interface and that K+ions are trapped in deeper trap than Na+ ions. It is also found that the magnitude of the current peaks is increased while the tempratures showing those peaks are decreased, as the gate voltage is increased.
