Characteristics and heterostructure of metal-doped TiO2/ZnO nanocatalysts
Chen Wu-Jhang,Hsu Kuo-Chin,Fang Te-Hua,Chen Tao-Hsing,Li Ming-Hao 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.38 No.-
In this study, Ag or Al-doped TiO2/ZnO heterostructure nanocatalysts were prepared using a sol-gel method for photocatalysis to evaluate the degradability. The photocatalytic behavior was evaluated by the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation. Photocatalytic studies suggested that 1 mol% Agdoped TiO2/ZnO (TiO2/ZnO = 0.75/0.25) heterostructure nanocatalysts showed higher photocatalytic activity, and that the degradation efficiency can reach 83% in 4 h, 14% higher than that for pure TiO2. Finally, the photocatalysis mechanism for the Ag-doped TiO2/ZnO heterostructure nanocatalysts is discussed.
Development of IGZO TFTs and Their Applications to Next-Generation Flat-Panel Displays
Hsing-Hung Hsieh,Hsiung-Hsing Lu,Hung-Che Ting,Ching-Sang Chuang,Chia-Yu Chen,Yusin Lin 한국정보디스플레이학회 2010 Journal of information display Vol.11 No.4
Organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) have shown superior characteristics and are expected to dominate the nextgeneration flat-panel displays. Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays, however, have stringent demands on the performance of the backplane. In this paper, the development of thin-film transistors (TFTs) based on indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) on both Gen 1 and 6 glasses, and their decent characteristics, which meet the AMOLED requirements, are shown. Further, several display prototypes (e.g., 2.4” AMOLED, 2.4” transparent AMOLED, and 32” AMLCD) using IGZO TFTs are demonstrated to confirm that they can indeed be strong candidates for the next-generation TFT technology not only of AMOLED but also of AMLCD (active-matrix liquid crystal display)
A Cryptographic Key Assignment Scheme with Adaptable Time-token Constraint in a Hierarchy
Hsing-Chung Chen,Shiuh-Jeng Wang,Jyh-Horng Wen 보안공학연구지원센터 2008 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.3 No.4
A scheme, which uses flexible cryptographic key management upon adaptable time-token constraint for a user hierarchy access control (UHAC) scheme, is proposed in this paper. For adapting the changeability in a UHAC system, we propose a technique of assigning independent time-token which is distributed by a trusted agency server to reply an authorized user for once secure access request. The key feature of the technique is to adapt some secure parameters in distributed time-token for responding to each legal access request. Further, all class keys will be updated proactively by the concept of proactive key management, which makes the advantage that is proven and free from the scenario of the collusive attack example which proposed by Yi et al. in [18]. This cryptographic key assignment scheme based on the difficulty in solving a discrete logarithm, with adaptable time-token constraint, can achieve better security and more efficient management, than the conventional UHAC scheme. Besides, our scheme provides a flexible manner and dynamic key management to increase the availability of user access in UHAC structure.

For this study, I adopted a qualitative research design and did semi- structured in-depth interviews with 14 university students regarding their experiences of friendship and love to investigate how new technologies have affected their intimate relationship practices. I found that my respondents employed connectivity technology to control the extent to which they invested financial, time-based, and emotional costs in friendships. They maintained a “thin and simple” emotional connection, which is also a type of intimacy, with most of their friends. In social networks, demonstrating “who I am” and categorizing of friends, has comprised a digital life strategy necessary for controlling emotional costs. Furthermore, digital connections satisfied these students’ needs for and imaginings regarding friendship and love and they performed caring or other types of close associations through the characteristics of “connected presence.” Finally, students employed digital writing to announce their love or relationship statuses, confess or profess their feelings, communicate, follow others, and repel pursuit from third parties. In particular, the female students adopted connectivity technology to create a personal erotic space and used Facebook as a platform for interacting with third parties, thereby enhancing their negotiation abilities. However, regarding love relationships, issues related to privacy rights and relationship boundary control, engendered by connectivity technology, are new topics that young students face, negotiate, and contemplate seriously. The findings of this study provided further insight into and reflection on discourse regarding feminism and intimate relationships.
A Pediatric Oncology Diverse Learning Course on Caring for nursing students’ reflection
Miao Hsing Chen,Shu-Chuan Chang,Yu-Ping Huang,Yueh Chih Chen 한국간호과학회 2021 한국간호과학회 학술대회 Vol.2021 No.10
Aim(s): This study aimed to determine if a pediatric oncology diverse learning course could enhance nursing students’ theoretical knowledge and understanding of clinical care for children with leukemia and their families. Method(s): This was a qualitative retrospective study. Data were collected in July 2016. Participants were college nursing students (N = 33) enrolled in a diverse learning course in pediatric oncology, which was taught between November 2014 and January 2015 at a science and technology university in Taiwan. The three-part course included reading picture books, participating in role-playing, and watching a cancer-related family movie. Focus group discussions occurred during each part. Students maintained written reflections during the course, which were submitted to an e-learning website. Reflections were analyzed using content analysis. Result(s): Students’ reflections resulted in five main themes: (1) Pediatric oncology nursing knowledge and skills learned; (2) Understanding children with leukemia and their families suffering; (3) Empathy parents’ and children’s reactions to the effects of leukemia; (4) Nursing skills necessary for caring for children with leukemia; and (5) Expect future role as a pediatric oncology nurse. Conclusion(s): The pediatric oncology simulation course employed multiple teaching strategies. The improvements in student cognition, empathy, and understanding of care requirements of children with leukemia and emotional needs of families as pediatric oncology nurses suggest the teaching objectives of enhancing student learning were achieved. The knowledge and skills acquired could assist students in developing professional competencies and values in nursing.
Feminist Teaching Practice in Masculine Higher Education Institutions in Taiwan
Yang, Hsing-Chen 이화여자대학교 아시아여성학센터 2012 Asian Journal of Women's Studies(AJWS) Vol.18 No.3
Using qualitative research and in-depth interviews, this study attempts to understand how female feminist teachers practice feminist pedagogy in colleges. It adopts the perspectives of multiple masculinities and gender organization to present the systematic and cultural gendering processes in institutions and to explore their effects on feminist teaching practices. The findings of this study show that gender ideology embedded in systems and organizational structure have an indirect but substantial impact on teaching practices of female feminist teachers. A performance-driven management style and emphasis on personal performance did not favor the teaching practices of feminism. These systems and rules of pseudo-equity have suppressed the self-development of female feminist teachers institutionally and systematically. The findings of this study can provide insights to identify the gender ideology and masculine norms that exist in schools and cultural processes, in order to propose potential changes to actualize gender equity and feminist pedagogy.
Transforming concepts into practices: Mainstreaming gender in higher education
YANG Hsing-Chen 이화여자대학교 아시아여성학센터 2016 Asian Journal of Women's Studies(AJWS) Vol.22 No.4
If gender mainstreaming is an implementation strategy for achieving gender equality, how should such a strategy be applied on a university campus? I conducted a case study in T University, employing action research to inquire into the practical knowledge and strategies derived during the interactive dialectical process of transforming concepts into practices. This study evolved a four-point strategy to fulfill the objectives of gender mainstreaming. An assessment of the action process was performed by identifying the need for discourse development, empirical study and advocacy for campus gender movements that need to be assimilated into activities of daily life. Finally, this study applies the aforementioned practical knowledge and strategies to develop a reference model for promoting gender mainstreaming in higher educational institutions.
