外來患者 및 돼지에서의 間接Latex凝集反應法에 依한 Toxoplasma 抗體價 調査硏究

This study was undertaken to konw the sero-epidemiologic meanings of toxoplasmosis by Indirect Latex Agglutination test of 514 general outpatients and 100 pigs. The results were obtained as follows: 1. Toxoplasma antibody titers were showed as 418 negative cases(81.3%), 63 cases(12.2%) in a titer of 1:16, 20 cases(3.9%) in a titer of 1:32, 8 cases(1.6%) in a titer of 1:64, 3 cases(0.6% ) in a titer of 1:128 and 2 cases(0.4%) in a titer of 1:256, respectively. 2. Antibody titer was somewhat declined to the nineteen ages (from 6.1% to 3,0%) but was increased from twenty to fifty-nine ages(from 9.1% to 24.2%). The positive percentage of Toxoplasma antibody titers were the highest as 24.2% in the fifties group. Totally, 33 cases(6.5%) among 514 patients was showed as positive reaction. 3. According to the sex group, 16 cases of the male and 17 cases of the female were showed as positive reaction 5.6%, 7.5%, respectively. Positive rates of the female was somewhat higher than that of the male. 4. Antibody titers of sera of the pig were shown as 65 negative cases(65%), 24 cases in a titer of 1:16(24%), 6 casesin 1:32(6%), 3 cases in 1:64(3%) and 2 cases in 1:1.28(2%), respectively . Totally, positive rates was 11%.

The purpose of this study was to make ramyon from Korean cultured wheat by adding with hot water extract powder from safflower seed in order to add the value of it. The cooking quality, instrumental texture and sensory characteristics of ramyon were analyzed. The ramyons with 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, and 0.7% of hot water extract powder(HEP) from safflower seed, control, and those with 3% and 5% of dried powder(DP) from safflower seed were compared. The yield of HEP was 7.8%. Lightness, redness, Max. weight, strength, hardness, adhesiveness, cohesiveness and springiness were measured. As the amounts of HEP and DP was increasing, ramyons smelled stronger and was getting harder and chewier, while became less transparent and had no difference in elasticity and adhesiveness. In overall acceptability, both control and ramyon with HEP had similar points. From three important factors, appearance, color and smell to make ramyon more acceptable, addition of 0.3~0.5% of hot water extract powder from safflower seed was found to be the best. However, further studies on smells are needed to make processed foodstuffs with safflower seed.
Factors affecting medication discontinuation in patients with overactive bladder symptoms

Objective To find out the factors affecting medication discontinuation in patients with overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms. Methods The clinical data of 125 patients with OAB symptoms who had taken antimuscarinics and behavioral therapy were retrospectively reviewed. Antimuscarinics related outcomes were evaluated by an independent observer with telephone interview. All patients were asked about duration of medication and reason of continuation or discontinuation of antimuscarinics. To determine pre-treatment factors predicting self-report discontinuation of antimuscarinics, variables of only those with P-values <0.25 on the univariate analysis were included in the Cox proportional hazard modeling. Results Mean follow-up was 39.6 months and the proportion of discontinuation of antimuscarinics was 60.0% (75/125). The mean duration of medication was 21.2 months in the continuation group and 3.3 months in the discontinuation group. The reasons of discontinuation of antimuscarinics were improved OAB symptoms (46.7%), tolerable OAB symptoms (33.3%), no change of OAB symptoms (1.3%), side-effects (8.0%) and no desire to take long-term medication (10.7%). The variables affecting remaining cumulative probability of antimuscarinics were age, history of antiincontinence surgery or vaginal surgery, and having stress predominant urinary incontinence on urodynamic study. Conclusion The lower rate of cumulative continuation of antimuscarinics encourages us to give a more detailed counseling and education to the patients with OAB symptoms before prescription. And explorations about newer agent and nonpharmacologic treatment with good efficacy and lower side-effects are needed.
Recent Progress of PepMoV Resistant GM Pepper

The PepMoV has been considered the most frequently detected potyvirus. When it co-infects with CMV or PMMoV, it gives severe impact to total pepper harvest in Korea. Since F1 hybrid that resistant to PepMoV has not been developed, we have developed transgenic peppers using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation with a Hc-Pro gene of the PepMoV. A large number of GM peppers were tested for resistance to the PepMoV, and after consequent self-crossing up to T4 generation, a highly tolerant pepper to PepMoV called T20 was selected. So far, BC4F1 lines have been selected by back-crossing with 4 elite lines through a breeding program. Very recently, based on molecular analysis, we have selected another event, #10-2, which is also resistant to PepMoV. Horticultural difference was investigated for both GM lines, #T20 and 10-2, and no significance was found comparing to non-GM lines.

Women with overactive bladder symptoms do not continue with active treatments (antimuscarinics and behavioral therapy or combined with biofeedback therapy) due to lack of efficacy or side effects. It is unknown whether pre-treatment factors affects successful discontinuation and outcomes of long-term maintenance of active treatments. The aims of this study was to evaluate whether there is any difference in pre-treatment factors between successful discontinuation group and failure group with active treatments and to find out the predictors of successful discontinuation of active treatments. The clinical data of 125 patients with overactive bladder symptoms who had taken antimuscarinics and behavioral therapy were retrospectively reviewed. Antimuscarnics related outcomes were evaluated by an independent observer with telephone interview. All patients were asked about reason of maintenance or discontinuation of antimuscarincs. Mean follow-up was 39.6 months. To determine the predictors of successful discontinuation of antimuscarinics, multivariate regression analysis was performed. The proportion of successful discontinuation of antimuscarinics was 59.7% (74/125). Mean duration of use in successful discontinuation group was 3.3 months. The factors affecting successful discontinuation of antimuscarinics were age, parity, maximal flow rate at uroflowmetry, diabetes, menopause, history of operation for urinary incontinence. Increasing age was associated with failure of successful discontinuation of antimuscarinics. Patients who were younger, less parous, high maximal flow rate of uroflowmetry, non-diabetes, non-menopause, history of operation for urinary incontinence were associated with successful discontinuation of active treatments for overactive bladder symptoms.
Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia(PCD) Registry Study in Korean Children and Adolescents

Background Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is an autosomal recessive congenital disease caused by dysfunctional cilia. Methods From January 2000 to August 2020, the medical records of pediatric and adolescent patients diagnosed or suspected of PCD at secondary and tertiary hospitals in Korea were reviewed retrospectively. Results A total of 29 patients were diagnosed with PCD in 15 medical institutions and the male to female ratio was 1:1.2. Among them, 21 patients were confirmed by histology (electron microscopy; EM) and 7 patients by gene study, and the median age at diagnosis was 9 years 3 month(1 month -19 years). According to the clinical findings, all of them were born full term, 15 cases had neonatal dyspnea, and 6 cases had Kartagener syndrome. According to the Results of EM, 11 patients with dynein arms defect (I), one patient with radial spokes with eccentric central core defect (II), one patient with microtubular transposition type (III), one with (I + II) and one with (I + II + III) were found. Nine patients were genetically tested, and the causative gene mutations were found in 7 PCD patients; 2 DNAAF1 gene mutation, 2 DNAH5 gene mutation, 1 DNAH11 gene mutation, 1 CCDC40 gene, and 1 CCDC39 gene. Tree cases were diagnosed by genetic testing without mucosal biopsy. Bronchiectasis was noted in 23 of 28 patients who had chest CT. Conclusions In addition to mucosal biopsy, early diagnosis of PCD can be diagnosed through genetic testing. Due to the inaccuracies and difficulties of existing diagnostic Methods, the prevalence of low diagnosis or misdiagnosis is likely to be higher. Multicenter studies are required to identify various phenotypes and genotypes of PCD in Korea.

Recently, antibody-like scaffold proteins have received a great deal of interest in diagnosis and therapy applications because of their intrinsic features that are often required for tumor imaging and therapy. Intrinsic issues that are associated with therapeutic application of antibody-like scaffold proteins, particularly in cancer treatment, include an efficient and straightforward radiolabeling for understanding in vivo biodistribution and excretion route, and monitoring therapeutic responses. Herein, we report an efficient and straightforward method for radiolabeling of antibody-like scaffold proteins with the $[^{99m}Tc(OH_2)_3(CO)_3]^+$ ($^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl) by using a site-specific direct labeling method via hexahistidine-tag, which is a widely used for general purification of recombinant proteins with His-affinity chromatography. Repebody is a new class of antibody-like scaffold protein that consists of highly diverse leucine-rich repeat (LRR) modules. Although all possible biomedical applications with repebody are ongoing, it's in vivo biodistribution and excretion pathway has not yet been explored. In this study, hexahistidine ($His_6$)-tag bearing repebody (rEgH9) was labeled with [$^{99m}Tc$]-tricarbonyl. Repebody protein was radiolabeled with high radiolabeling efficiency (>90%) and radiolabeled compound was more than 99% pure after purification. These results clearly demonstrate that the present radiolabeling method will be useful molecular imaging study.
