Resistive switching characteristic of Ce0.9Y0.1O2/ TiO2 bi‑layer structure by photochemical metal‑organic deposition

        Sung‑Eun Kim,Jin-Gyu Lee,In-Young Choi,Ha-Eun Kim,Hong-Sub Lee 한국세라믹학회 2020 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.57 No.1

Sneak current is one of the main bottlenecks for dense crossbar array resistive random access memory. This study reports highly non-linear resistive switching characteristic from Ce0.9Y0.1O2/ TiO2 bi-layer (1S/1R device) structure, fabricated by photochemical metal-organic deposition, as a solution for sneak current issue. Ce0.9Y0.1O2 material, possessing oxygen vacancies, was used as a potential barrier as well as oxygen reservoir which rectified the current of low resistance state without an electrical breakdown in 1S/1R device. TiO2 was adopted for resistive switching property, and TiO2 layer having mixed phase (anatase and brookite) showed typical diode switching behavior. The photochemical reaction of photochemical metal-organic deposition process and phase formation were monitored and established using by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. The 1S/1R device showed highly non-linear resistive switching characteristic, large on/ off ratio of above three orders of magnitude with low operating current.

이상정 장군의 육필 유고 『표박기(飄泊記)』 분석

        이상규(Lee, Sang-gyu) 동아인문학회 2017 동아인문학 Vol.39 No.-

The purpose of this paper is to examine the life and achievements of General Lee Sang-jeong and identify the meaning and historical value of posthumous collection he left. Although there are difficulties in clarifying the full account due to the limitations of data, the significance of this paper can be summarized as follows. It could examine the activities of General Lee Sang-jeong as an army for national independence, and clarify the struggles for independence by Kwon Ki-ok, the first female pilot in Korea. Moreover, this paper could discover values as a historical record to know the past relationship in Northeast Asia, especially Korea and China. It is necessary to have a new recognition of the regional history of Northeast Asia to properly understand the flow of the ancient Korean history. By exploring historical sites in the 3 provinces of Northeast China as well as various places, the book leaves many writings about the history and origins of historical remains and sites, whose quality surpasses that of the writings by renowned, excellent historical scholars. Also, several sijo (Korean traditional three-verse Korean poems) in magazines such as ‘Gaebyeok’ show General Lee Sang-jeong’s talent as a literary artist, indicating the significant value of the pieces he left in his posthumous collection as a literary collection.

( Hee Yeon Kim ),( Jong Young Choi ),( Dong Goo Kim ),( Myoung Soo Kim ),( Soon Il Kim ),( Shin Hwang ),( Sung Gyu Lee ),( Kwang Woong Lee ),( Kyung Suk Suh ),( Young Seok Han ),( Dong Lak Choi ),( Se 대한간학회 2012 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2012 No.-

Background: The outcome of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection after liver transplantation (LT) was improved by hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) and nucles(t)ide analogue (NUA). However, HBV recurrence after LT is critical because the recurrence is occasionally accompanied by a progressive destruction of graft and poor survival. The aims of this study were to investigate the significance HBV recurrence and identity factors associated with HBV recurrence. Methods: From October 1999 to February 2011, a total of 2684 consecutive LT recipients who underwent HBV-associated LT were retrospectively enrolled from 7 transplantation centers in Korea. Results: Prophylaxis regimens were HBIG monotherapy (67.7%) or a combination of HBIG with NUA (22.3%). The recurrence rate of HBV was 6.1% (164 recipients) during mean follow-up duration of 10.9 years. The median time from transplantation to recurrence was 2.1 years (0.1-7.9 years). Of the 1,071 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) prior to LT, 155 patients (14.5%) had HCC recurrence after transplantation, and 48 patients (31.0%) had HBV recurrence. Of the 48 patients with recurrence of both HBV and HCC, 25 patients (52.1%) experienced HBV recurrence after HCC recurrence. In the multivariate analysis, pretransplant HCC, pretransplant HBV DNA above 5.5 log copies/mL was independent clinical factors influencing HBV recurrence after LT. The mortality rate among the recipients with HBV recurrence was 34.1% (56 recipients). Mean overall survival was 6.4 years in the HBV-recurrence group and 9.9 years in the HBV-nonrecurrence group (p<0.001). HBV recurrence was not an independent prognostic factor for overall survival. HCC recurrence was the most important factor for overall survival. Conclusions: The overall outcome of LT in HBV-related liver disease was excellent with the current prophylaxis regimen Choon Hyuck David Kwon,8 Suk-Koo Lee8 Pretransplant HBV DNA and HCC were important factors for HBV recurrence. HBV recurrence after LT did not significantly influence on the overall survival without combining of HCC recurrence.

Molecular Identification of Gyrodinium impudicum and Gymnodinium sanguineum by Comparing the Sequences of the Internal Transcribed Spacers 1,2 and 5.8S Ribosomal DNA

Lee, Tae Ho,LEE, SANG JUN,Lee, Jae Dong,Kim, Gi Young,Cho, Eun Seob,Ha, Myoung Gyu 한국수산학회 1999 Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Vol.2 No.1

The sequences coding for the 5.8S rDNA and the internal transcribed spacers (ITS1 and ITS2) from the isolates of nine isolates of Gyrodinium impudicum and two isolates of Gymnodinium sanguineum species were amplified, sequenced and compared with the previously known Alexandrium species and Gymnodinium catenatum. The genetic distance analyses based on the sequence alignment indicated that Gymnodinium catenatum and Gyrodinium impudicum species were some related, Alexandrium species was distant. G. catenatum and G. sanguineum were quite separate, but these two species belonged to the same genus. G. impudicum and G. catenatum forming the closet cluster showed some variation in the alignment of ITS regions. The length of ITS1 varied more than that of ITS2 and the length of ITS1 and ITS2 was different for each G. impudicum, Gymnodinium and Alexandrium species. Also, the length of ITSl was shorter than that of ITS2. However, on the sequences of G. sanguineum, the length of ITS1 was longer about 23 nucleotides than that of ITS2. The phylogenetic analysis and rDNA similarity of G. impudicum and G. catenatum (59%) is higher than the that of G. catenatum and G. sanguineum (55%). It was thought that the phylogenetic analysis and the genetic distance revealed that G. impudicum and G. catenatum were clearly different species and G. impudicum may belong to the genus of Gymnodinium.

Factors Associated With Subdural Hygroma Following Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

        Sang-Geun Lee,Kum Whang,Sung Min Cho,Yeon Gyu Jang,Jong Yeon Kim,Jong Wook Choi 대한신경손상학회 2022 Korean Journal of Neurotrauma Vol.18 No.2

Objective: Subdural hygroma (SDG) is a complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI). In particular, the outcome and outpatient treatment period may vary depending on the occurrence of SDG. However, the pathogenesis of SDG has not been fully elucidated. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with the occurrence of SDG after mild TBI. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 250 patients with mild TBI admitted to a single institution between January 2021 and December 2021. The SDG occurrence and control groups were analyzed according to the risk factors of SDG, such as age, history, initial computed tomography (CT) findings, and initial laboratory findings. Results: The overall occurrence rate of SDG was 31.6% (n=79). A statistically significant association was found between preoperative diagnoses and the occurrence of SDG, such as subarachnoid hemorrhage (odds ratio [OR], 2.36; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.26–4.39) and basal skull fracture (OR, 0.32; 95% CI, 0.12–0.83). Additionally, age ≥70 years (OR, 3.20; 95% CI, 1.74–5.87) and the use of tranexamic acid (OR, 2.12; 95% CI, 1.05–4.54) were statistically significant factors. The prognostic evaluation of patients using the Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) did not show any statistical differences between patients with and without SDG. Conclusion: SDG was not associated with the prognosis of patients assessed using the GOS. However, depending on the occurrence of SDG, differences in patient symptoms may occur after mild TBI. Therefore, the early evaluation of patients with mild TBI and determination of the probability of developing SDG are important.

( Sung Gyu Im ),( Hyun Woong Lee ),( Hyung Joon Kim ) 대한간학회 2017 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2017 No.1

Aims: Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) is a major comorbidity in patients with hemophilia. We assessed the safety and efficacy of new direct acting antiviral agents for CHC in hemophilia. Methods: Patients (n=30) were enrolled between September 2015 and April 2016. Twenty-six patients were genotype 1 (1b, n=21; 1a, n=5) and 4 patients were genotype 2a/2b. Among 21 patients with genotype 1b, Y93H resistance-associated variants (RAVs) were detected in 3 patients (14.3%). We evaluated rapid virologic responses (RVRs), end-of-treatment response (ETRs), sustained virologic response (SVRs) at 24 weeks, relapse and safety. Results: According to medical insurance system in Korea, 5 patients with genotype 1a and 3 patients with genotype 1b (RAV positive) received ledipasvir/sofosbuvir for 12 weeks. RVRs, ETRs, and SVR24 rates were 100% (8/8). Eleven patients with genotype 1b were treatment-naive and received daclatasvir plus asunaprevir for 24 weeks. ETRs, and SVR24 rates were 91% (10/11). One patient experienced viral breakthrough without RAV at 12 weeks. Seven treatment-experienced patients with genotype 1b received daclatasvir plus asunaprevir for 24 weeks. ETRs, and SVR24 rates were 85.7% (6/7). One patient experienced viral breakthrough with RAV (L31M, Y93H) at 12 weeks. Four patients with genotype 2a/2b (treatment- naive, n=2, treatment-experienced, n=2) received sofosbuvir plus ribavirin for 12 weeks. RVR, ETRs, and SVR24 rates were 100% (4/4). No serious adverse event-related discontinuations or dose interruptions were noted. Conclusions: New oral direct acting antiviral treatment achieved high sustained virological response rates at 24 weeks in CHC patients with hemophilia without serious adverse events.

        Lee, Yune Jeong,Choi, Myung Gyu,Lim, Chul Hyun,Jung, Woong Ryong,Cho, Hyun Sun,Sung, Hye Young,Nam, Kwan Woo,Chang, Jae Hyuck,Cho, Yu Kyung,Park, Jae Myung,Kim, Sang Woo,Chung, In Sik The Korean Society of Gastroenterology 2010 대한소화기학회지 Vol.55 No.3

Background/Aims: Our clinical experience and recent published literatures suggest that Clostridium difficile colitis (CDC) has become more common and potentially more pathogenic in recent years. The aim of study was to evaluate changes in the epidemiological features of CDC in hospitalized patients in Korea. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all patients of CDC diagnosed at Kangnam St. Mary Hospital from 1998 to 2007. CDC was defined as having a positive C. difficile cytotoxicity assay, or endoscopic or pathologic evidence of CDC. Results: A total of 189 cases (male 73, female 116, mean age 63.3 years) of CDC were diagnosed during the study period. The prevalence of CDC increased from 1.9/10,000 patient admissions in 1998-1999 to 8.82/10,000 patient admissions in 2006-2007. One hundred sixty three indication for cases (86.2%) of patients identified a prior use of antibiotics in the 2 months preceding diagnosis. The most common antibiotic use was prophylactic use during perioperational period (33.3%) followed by pneumonia (23.3%). The overall response rate to initial antibiotics was 82.7%. One hundred seventy two (91%) patients were initially treated with metronidazole. The response rate was 84.3%. All patients with initial failure to metronidazole were successfully treated by vancomycin. The response rate of vancomycin as first treatment was 80%. Three deaths were associated with CDC despite the use of combination of metronidazole and vancomycin. Conclusions: The prevalence of CDC in hospitalized patients in Korea significantly increased from 1998 to 2007.
