An ESP Instructional Approach: Setting up a model for Tourism Major

This presentation starts from a strong need to understand ESP instructional model that can develop students’ English competence as well as their content knowledge for their future field of career required them to have. While there are much research on ESP education, there is a lack of attention on how actual classroom teaching is conducted and how an ESP instructional model is discrete from general English programs. Some ESP courses introduced special pedagogical techniques, however, many activities or instructional moves do not seem to reflect ESP-specific approach. Therefore, this presentation introduces one class engagement that the presenter actually taught to develop students’ tourism knowledge and English skills that are filed-specific. This presentation will discuss an ESP instructional model that can help both students’ professional content knowledge as well as their purpose-specific English communication skills.
Low Protein Digestibility of Beef Puree in Infant In Vitro Digestion Model

This study investigated protein digestibility of beef puree in infant and adult in vitro digestion models. The simulated digestive juices for infant and adult were prepared. Protein digestibility of beef puree was calculated in the gastric and gastrointestinal compartments. The 10% trichloroacetic acid soluble nitrogen and α- amino group contents of gastric digesta were lower in the infant in vitro digestion model than those in the adult in vitro digestion model (p<0.05). In addition, the gastrointestinal digesta from the infant in vitro digestion model had lower value of the 10% trichloroacetic acid soluble nitrogen and α-amino group contents than those of the adult in vitro digestion model (p<0.05). The results of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed that the remarkable bands of actin and myosin light chain B were found in the digesta of beef puree from the infant in vitro digestion model. The results of this study revealed the lower protein digestibility of beef puree in infants compared to that in adults. Therefore, the development of ways to increase digestibility of meat protein can improve the nutritional quality of meat products for infants.

인명구조용 소방대원 근력지원장치의 양중성능 및 내환경 시험 방법

전세계적으로 재난에 의한 피해가 급증하면서 인명피해를 줄이기 위한 장비에 대한 기술 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 이에 소방안전 및 119구조 구급기술연구개발사업의 지원으로 "인명구조용 소방대원 근력지원장치 개발(2015 ~ 2018)" 과제를 통하여 재난환경 및 재난 대응 시나리오를 고려한 리프팅 성능(양중하중 100 kg 이상, 양중높이 1 m 이상, 양중거리 60 cm 이상, 양중속도 0.2 m/s 이상)을 만족하는 장비를 개발 중에 있다. 본 연구는 장치의 유용성을 판단하기 위해 양중성능 및 내환경 시험법을 제안하였고, 양중성능시험의 동역학 해석을 통해 근력지원장치의 상세사양을 분석 및 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 제안한 시험 방법은 근력지원장치의 안정적인 성능 구현여부를 평가하는데 실용적으로 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. As the damage caused by disasters increases rapidly around the world, it is necessary to develop the technology for equipment to reduce human injury. Therefore in the support of fire safety and 119 rescue and rescue technology research and development project, in the "Development of a power assist device for a fireman to rescue humans(2015 ~ 2018)" for life saving restoration, we are developing equipment that satisfies the lifting performance considering the disaster environment and the disaster response scenario(Amount of load over 100 kg, height of over 1 m, height over middle 60 cm, speed over 0.2 m/s). In this study, we propose a lifting performance and environmental test method to evaluate the usefulness of the power-assisted device and analyze and verify detailed specifications of the device through dynamics analysis of the lifting performance test. This study suggests that the proposed test method can be applied practically to evaluate whether a stable performance of a power-assisted device is achieved.
Processing Characteristics of Freeze-Dried Pork Powder for Meat Emulsion Gel

The processing characteristics of freeze-dried pork powder as raw meat for comminuted meat products were compared with those of freeze-thawed pork. The tertiary structural properties, oxidation, and solubility of proteins in the freeze-dried pork powder were investigated. In addition, the properties of the emulsion gels manufactured with freeze-dried pork powder (GFD) and freeze-thawed pork (GFT) at 1.5% and 2.0% NaCl were evaluated. The surface hydrophobicity and intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence intensity of myofibrillar proteins between the freeze-dried pork powder and freezethawed pork were similar. However, freeze-dried pork powder had higher carbonyl compounds and lower solubility of sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar proteins than freezethawed pork (p<0.05). GFD had higher cooking loss than GFT in 2.0% NaCl, and lower hardness and a* value of GFD were observed regardless of NaCl level (p<0.05). Moreover, GFD had higher malondialdehyde content than GFT at the two NaCl concentrations (p<0.05). Therefore, our study demonstrated that freeze-dried pork powder has lower functional properties than freeze-thawed pork as raw meat for comminuted meat products.
고지혈증 진단의 기계학습 정확도 개선을 위한 중요 임상데이터 특징 선택

기계학습 방법을 이용한 고지혈증의 정확한 진단을 위하여 임상데이터의 중요한 특징을 분석하는 것은 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 25가지의 고지혈증 임상데이터 특징 중에서 10가지의 중요한 특징만을 이용하여 고지혈증 진단 정확도를 개선하는 방법을 제안한다. 즉, 임상적으로 정의된 정상범위와의 관계성과 임상데이터 내의 특성을 분석한 특징 중요도를 분석해 우선순위가 높은 특징을 선택하여 기계학습의 정확도를 개선한다. 실험결과, 총 148명의 고지혈증 임상데이터를 SVM(Support Vector Machine), Decision Tree, 그리고 Random Forest를 통해 진단율을 각각 확인한다. 또한, 제안방법을 통하여 중요도 전체 25가지의 특징 중 10가지의 중요한 특징을 우선적으로 선택하여 정확도를 최대 13.3% 개선할 수 있음을 확인한다.
