The Euclid metric is well-known and there are many results on the space with that metric. But there are many other metrics which gives more practical and useful results in the plane. In this paper, we introduce new metric function in the plane, which is more useful in city with subway. Finally we generalize to the general metric space and introduce a new metric on ${\mathbb{R}}^n$.

There are many metric functions in the plane. In this paper we are to classify the metric functions on the plane using two ways such as using sum of distances between some points when start point and end point is fixed, and using area of transferred triangle consisted of distances between 3 points.

Braking distance is a very important factor of the items to evaluate the safety of vehicles. Braking performance of the vehicle is affected by brake systems, tires and road friction characteristic. In this paper, we studied on the tire parameters related with the brake distance of vehicle equipped with ABS system. To achieve this, we developed the braking distance simulation method through multi-body vehicle dynamic model containing brake control logic and tire model, and it"s confidence was verified by outdoor braking test. Also, we analyzed relationship between tire’s characteristic and braking distance by orthogonal arrays based on the DOE(Design of Experiments).

<P>We investigated the subdomain structures of single-layer graphene oxide (GO) by characterizing local friction and conductance using conductive atomic force microscopy. Friction and conductance mapping showed that a single-layer GO flake has subdomains several tens to a few hundreds of nanometers in lateral size. The GO subdomains exhibited low friction (high conductance) in the sp(2)-rich phase and high friction (low conductance) in the sp(3)-rich phase. Current-voltage spectroscopy revealed that the local current flow in single-layer GO depends on the quantity of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, and epoxy bridges within the 2-dimensional carbon layer. The presence of subdomains with different sp(2)/sp(3) carbon ratios on a GO flake was also confirmed by chemical mapping using scanning transmission X-ray microscopy. These results suggest that spatial mapping of the friction and conductance can be used to rapidly identify the composition of heterogeneous single-layer GO at nanometer scale, which is essential for understanding charge transport in nanoelectronic devices.</P>
Market and Shadow Prices in a Pure Consumption Economy With Institutional Prices Constraints
Kim, Sehun 한국경영과학회 1985 韓國經營科學會誌 Vol.10 No.1
When an economy has institutional price constraints the relationship between market prices and shadow prices is not yet fully investigated. A pure consumption economy is considered where market prices guide the consumption behavior and shadow prices measure the social value of resources. In this case we show that if the utility function is additively reparable there exists a complementarity relation between the difference of the market price and the shadow price and the difference of the market price and the regulated upper (or lower) bound.
Spray Characteristics of Hydrotreated Biodiesel Blended Fuels
Kim, Duckhan,Oh, Sehun,Kim, Seonghwan,No, Soo-Young Institute for Liquid Atomization and Spray Systems 2013 한국액체미립화학회지 Vol.18 No.4
Hydrotreated biodiesel (HBD) would be one of the promising alternative fuels instead of current biodiesel. In this study, spray characteristics in terms of spray penetration and spray angle were conducted experimentally including calculated SMDs as well. The ambient pressures of 1, 3, and 5 MPa and injection pressures of 30, 80, and 130 MPa were introduced and the fuels employed were petro-diesel, and 2, 10, 20, 30, and 50% for hydrotreated biodiesel, respectively. The result of this study found that the more HBD blended diesels have the slightly shorter spray tip penetration lengths especially on the lowest injection pressure and at the highest ambient pressure, but have the larger spray angles and SMDs than petro-diesel. Consequently, this study found that HBD has a little bit merits and demerits of macro- and micro- spray patterns compared to petro-diesel.

Background/Aims: Prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin and clopidogrel beyond 1 year has been shown to reduce ischemic events at the expense of increased bleeding. However, limited data are available on the clinical significance of platelet reactivity (PR) at 1 year. Methods: We retrospectively identified 331 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and assessed the on-clopidogrel PR using VerifyNow P2Y12 assay at 1 year in a single center. Two hundred eleven patients were on DAPT for > 1 year. The relationship between high on-treatment platelet reactivity (HPR) at 1 year and clinical outcomes beyond 1 year, as well as the longitudinal change in PR was analyzed. Results: At 1 year, 135 (64%) patients showed HPR and 76 (36%) did not. There was a significant increase in ischemic endpoint events, including cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and stroke/transient ischemic attack in patients with compared to without HPR at 1 year (hazard ratio [HR], 2.68; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.06 to 6.77; p = 0.036). However, the incidence of any Bleeding Academic Research Consortium bleeding was significantly lower in the HPR group (HR, 0.11; 95% CI, 0.02 to 0.65; p = 0.015). In the longitudinal analysis, PR significantly decreased from post-load to 1 year after index PCI in the non-HPR group. Conversely, the HPR group showed high PR from baseline through 1 year. Conclusions: HPR at 1 year may be a useful surrogate for predicting ischemic and bleeding events in patients on prolonged DAPT. Patients with and without HPR at 1 year showed different patterns of longitudinal change in PR.
