One of the most important topics in attentional and emotional modulation of cardiac responses is time course of cardiac chronotropic response. The reason lies in dual innervation of heart, which leads to occurrence of several phases of cardiac response during exposure to affective stimuli, determined by the balance of sympathetic and parasympathetic influences. Cardiac chronotropic reactivity thus represents QUlte effective measure capable to trace the moment when attending and orienting processes (i.e., sensory intake of stimulus) prime relevant behavioral response (i.e., emotion with approach or avoidance tendencies). The aim of this study was to find the time course of heart rate (HR) responses typical for negative (disgust, surprise, fear, anger) and positive (happiness, pleasant erotic) affective pictures and to identify cardiac response dissociation for emotions with different action tendencies such as "approach" (surprise, anger, happiness) and "avoidance" (fear, sadness, disgust). Forty college students participated in this study where cardiac responses to slides from Laps intended to evoke basic emotions (surprise, fear, anger, sadness, disgust, happiness, pleasant-erotic). Inter-beat intervals of HR were analyzed on every 10 sec basis during 60 sec long exposure to affective visual stimuli. Obtained results demonstrated that differentiation was observed at the very first 10 s of exposure (anger-fear, surprise-sad, surprise-erotic, surprise-happiness pairs), reaching the peak of dissociation at 30 s (same pairs plus surprise-disgust and surprise-fear) and was still effective for some pairs (surprise-erotic, surprise-sad) even at 50 s and 60 s. Discussed are potential cardiac autonomic mechanisms underlying attention and emotion processes evoked by affective stimulation and theoretical considerations implicated to understand the role of differential cardiac reactivity m the behavioral context (e.g., approach-avoidance tendencies, orienting-defense responses).

Signal transducer and activator of transcription 4 (STAT4) is one of the important mediators in generating inflammation and immune responses. To address the role of Stat4 in carrageenan induced acute inflammation, we performed paw edema measurement and 7.4 k mouse cDNA microarray analysis in carrageenan induced acute inflammation in Stat4 knockout (-/-) mice. Male BALB/c (n=8) and Stat4 -/- (n=5) were used and paw edema was induced with injection of $30\;{\mu}L$ of 1% carrageenan into plantar surface of right hind paw. Next, we isolated the mRNA in mouse whole brain and analyzed cDNA microarray profiles for the changes of the brain expression in Stat4 -/- mice. Interestingly, the increase in paw volume of Stat4 -/- mice was reduced by about 30% as compared to that of wild type. The cDNA microarray analysis revealed the altered expressions of several cytokines (Tnf, Il6, and Il4) and pain-associated proteins (Ptgs2, Gabra6, and Gabbr1) in Stat4 -/- mice. Our results suggest that Stat4 may be related to the inhibitory responses on carrageenan induced acute inflammation.

Abstract

An artificial bifunctional enzyme, xylanase–cellulase, has been prepared by gene fusion. Three chimeric genes were constructed that encoded fusion proteins of different lengths. The fusion proteins exhibited both xylanase (XynX) and cellulase (Cel5Z::Ω) activity when cel5Z::Ω was fused downstream of xynX, but not when xynX was fused downstream of cel5Z::Ω. Activities of bifunctional enzymes decreased when a shorter xylanase peptide was fused. Three fusion enzymes were purified, and the molecular weights of the enzymes were estimated by CMC-SDS-PAGE and XYN-SDS-PAGE to be 149, 129, and 87kDa, respectively. The fusion enzymes displayed optimum cellulase activity at pH 8.0 and 50°C and optimum xylanase activity at pH 8.0 and 70°C.

The purpose of this study is to examine the fetal and infant care of mothers with early children. To that end, in-depth interviews were conducted between October 17, 2019 and October 28, 2019, for 10 mothers with children aged 3 to 5 who lived in U-city. The results of the study showed 10 categories of content: ‘Pregnancy is a series of worries and worries’, ‘In advice and information, find a happy prenatal education’, ‘The ideal and reality of childbirth’, ‘Complete breastfeeding that is difficult because of work and physical problems.’, ‘Mother-made baby food and purchase baby food’, ‘Between convenience and principle, baby walker and bowel training’, ‘The convenience of seductive electronic devices’, ‘Responsible for the development of children s character’, ‘Books and online communities are parenting counseling centers.’, ‘Hard but bearable parenting’. It is hoped that this study will help today s mothers who have difficulties and fears about childcare and will be used as meaningful data to overcome childcare difficulties.
