      • Ampicillin과 Furosemide의 相互作用에 관한 硏究

        In order to investigate the durg-interaction between furosemide and ampicillin, the influences of ampicillin on the diuretic action of furosemide and the effects of furosemide on the urinary elimination rate and serum concentration of ampicillin were studied in the rabbits. In comparison of diuretic effects of furosemide alone group with those of furosemide-ampicillin combined group, the furosemide-ampicillin combined group showed significant increase in urine flow and urinary electrolytes amounts. Those findings seem to be resulted chiefly from marked inhibition of sodium and chloride reabsorption in the renal tubule without a little alteration of glomerular filtration rate. Throughout the combined administration of furosemide and ampicillin. the serum concentration of ampicillin were significantly elevated, but the urinary elimination rate of ampicillin were markedly decreased in the observed rabbits. It is concluded from the results that synergistic effect of ampicillin on diuretic action of furosemide might be due to the competitive inhibition of plasma protein binding with furosemide by ampicillin. It is also postulated that the competition between furosemide and ampicillin in renal tubular secretion.

      • 줄넘기 운동과 달리기 운동이 비만 초등학생의 신체성분 변화 및 기초체력에 미치는 영향

        This study has it's purpose on choosing a reasonable exercising program and finding detailed training skills for preventing child obesity and increasing physical fitness, by analyzing the correlation the improvement of body composition with increase of physical fitness through Jumping-rope exercise and interval running training for obesity children. To study a new program, we divided into Jumping-rope group(l0) and interval running group(l0), then trained them with a new program for 12 weeks. After measuring subjects body composition and physical fitness, we tested the means of each difference, the results are as followings. First, body composition were effective for muscle(p<.001), fat(p<.01), in Jumping-rope group and moisture(p<.05), muscle(p<.001) in running group. Second, basic physical fitness, was effective for 50m run(p<.01), sit-up(p<.001), 1000m run(p <.05), bending-down(p<.001) in jumping-rope group and 50m run(p<.001), a long jump(p<.001), sit-up(p<.001), 1000m run(p<.01), bending-down(p<.001) in running group. Third, there was nothing significant for body water(p<.696), muscle(p<.516), fat(p<.606) in two groups. Fourth, we got a significant difference in 1000m run(p<.05) from two groups. As a conclusion, according to this study, jumping-rope affected positively in body composition, while running did in physical fitness.

      • 긴촌충(廣節裂頭條蟲) 感柒의 一例

        韓國에서의 긴촌충(廣節裂頭條史) 感染例는 日制時 慶南地方 住民들의 大便檢査 증에 史卵이 觀索되었다는 報告가 있었고, 患者로부터 成忠을 얻어 報告한 例는 趙等(1971)이 報告한 1例 뿐이었다. 著者들은 14歲의 韓國少年으로부터 길이 685cm의 頭節이 없는 史體를 얻었다. 治療藥製는 Bithionol이었다. 忠體를 形態學論으로 檢討한 바 Diphyllobothrium latum(Linnaeus, 1758) Luhe, 1910으로 同定되었다. 患者는 그때까지 外國을 旅行한 經驗이 없었으며 市中에서 生鮮膾률 먹거나 약수터 또는 溪流의 물을 마신 記憶이 없고 더우기 뱀이나 개구리를 生食한 經驗은 전혀 없다고 한다. 다만 그는 本硏究室을 찾기 1年前 그의 父親을 따라 浦項으로 바다낚시를 간 일이 있으며 그곳에서 낚아 올린 농어( 魚)를 謄로 먹은 經驗이 있다고 하였다. 그러므로 本例의 感染源은 魚일 가능성이 많으며 分明한 것은 國內의 土着感染이란 점이다. , 國內에서 수시로 報告되는 sparganum症의 例로 보거나 中間宿主의 役割을 할 수 있다고 思料되는 甲穀類 및 魚類에 대한 報告와 韓國海洋의 魚類分布로 보아 韓國에서의 廣節裂頭條忠 感染率은 窓外로 높을지도 모른다. A case of Diphyllobothrium latum infection was recorded. A 14-year-old Korean boy was infected with this tape worm and treated with bithionol orally. An incomplete strobila without scolex and neck parts was collected. It was identified as D.latum on the basis of morpho1ogical characteristics. The most probab1e source of infection is autochthonous according to the past history of the patient. This is the second record of Diphyllo-bothrium latum infection in Korea which was verified with the recovery of the adult worm.

      • 톡소포자충의 세포질 항원 및 세포막 항원의 면역학적 특성 분석

        The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in humoral immune response between cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigen of Toxoplasma gondii. The cytoplasmic soluble and membrane antigens were prepared from T gondii tachyzoites by means of ultrasonication and treatment of Triton X-100. Sera were collected from mice immunized with each antigen at weekly interval for 10 weeks. The serum antibodies were detected by ELISA, and the antidody-binding proteins were analyzed by Western blot. The serum IgM titers were increased in mice immunized with cytoplasmic soluble antigen from 3 weeks, and the titers were peaked between 6 and 8 weeks. However the IgM antibody titers from mice immunized with the membrane antigen were not significantly increased in comparison with negative control group. The serum IgG titers were not revealed significant differences bewteen groups of antigens. Sera from mice immunized with cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigens reacted with specific bands of T.gondii from 2 and 3 weeks after immunization, respectively. During the course of immunization additional bands appeared consecutively, and antibody-binding antigens were reacted mainly with the molecular weight from 22-kDa to 68-kDa after 5 weeks. In conclusion, there were not distinguished specific humoral immune responses between cytoplasmic soluble antigen and membrane antigen of T.gondii, except serum IgM antibody responses.

        댐 하류 만곡부 하천에 대한 수리학적 특성 연구

        In order to accurately analyze the detailed hydraulic characteristics of the curved channel in the downstream of dam with the hydraulic structures such as bridge piers, RMA2 model which is one of two-dimensional models is applied to ChunCheon dam downstream curved channel. A series of hydraulic model tests are carried out for comparison studies. HEC-RAS model is also applied to the same site. There are no errors when velocities and water levels resulted from HEC-RAS model RMA2 model are compared with those of hydraulic model test on the straight channel. But, it is found that results of RMA2 model have a better agreement with those of hydraulic model test than those of HEC-RAS model on the curved channel with bridge piers. Additionally, RMA2 model can be predicted the eddy phenomena around bridge piers of the curved channel.

      • Paclitaxel 및 Apo-2L/TRAIL이 자궁경부암 세포주 아포토시스에 미치는 영향

        Objective: TRAIL(also called Apo-2L) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor(TNF) family of cytokines which induces apoptosis cell death in a variety of tumor cell lines. It mediates its apoptotic effects through one of two receptors, DR4 and DR5, which are members of the TNF receptor family, and whose cytoplasmic regions contain death domains. TNF and Fas ligand induces apoptosis in tumor cells; however, their severe toxicity toward normal tissues hampers their application to cancer therapy. We examed if paclitaxed and/or Apo-2LTRAIL induces apoptosis of cervical cancer HeLa, SiHa, ME-180, and CaSki cells. Mehods : We have demonstrated that paclitaxel and Apo-2L/TRAIL induces apoptosis of cervical cancer HeLa, SiHa, CaSki and ME-180 cell lines in a dose-dependent manner. HeLa, SiHa, ME-180 and CaSki were obtained from American Type Culture Colection. Recombinant Human TRAIL(Chmicon). DR4 and DR5 were purchased from Santa Cruz. Paclitaxel, MTT assay Kit, Acridine orange and Ethium bormide were purchased from Sigma. HeLa and SiHa were grown in DMEM. ME-180 and CaSki were grown in RPMI. Tripan blue stain and MTT assay were done for cytotoxicity. Annexin V-FITC and PI(propidium iodide) flowcytometry for apoptosis assay. DR4 and DR% were expressed by Western Blot. Fluorescent Microscopy used Acridine orange(AO) and Ethium bromide(EB). Results : Importantly, concurrent treatment of cervical cancer cells with paclitaxed and Apo-2L/TRAIL induces significantly more apoptosis than Apo-2L/TRAIL alone. Conclusion : We need further studies which reveals possible therapeutic potential in the women with cervical cancer by suing Apo-2L/TRAIL.

        Effects of all-trans retinoic acid(retinoic acid) on DNA replication, H2B histone and DNA topoisopmerase I(Topo I) gene expression have been investigated in human promyelocytic leukemia cell line HL-60. DNA synthesis decreased at 24 hours after exposure of retinoic acid in the HL-60 cells. H2B histone mRNA rapidly reduced at 48 hours and Topo I and c-myc mRNA at 24 hours in retinoic acid-exposured HL-60 cells, respectively. The levels of c-myc, H2B histone and Topo I gene expression were reduced in proportion to the concentration of retinoic acid. The H2B histone mRNA in retinoic acid-exposured cells was elevated by cycloheximide treatment, while the level of Topo I mRNA was constant. These results suggest that regulations of H2B histone, c-myc and Topo I gene expression are different from one another, and repression of Topo I gene is closely correlated with c-myc gene during retinoic acid-induced differentiation of HL-60 cells.

        Composted Oyster Shell as Lime Fertilizer Is More Effective Than Fresh Oyster Shell

        <P>Physio-chemical changes in oyster shell were examined, and fresh and composted oyster shell meals were compared as lime fertilizers in soybean cultivation. Structural changes in oyster shell were observed by AFM and FE-SEM. We found that grains of the oyster shell surface became smoother and smaller over time. FT-IR analysis indicated the degradation of a chitin-like compound of oyster shell. In chemical analysis, pH (12.3±0.24), electrical conductivity (4.1±0.24 dS m<SUP>−1</SUP>), and alkaline powder (53.3±1.12%) were highest in commercial lime. Besides, pH was higher in composted oyster shell meal (9.9±0.53) than in fresh oyster shell meal (8.4±0.32). The highest organic matter (1.1±0.08%), NaCl (0.54±0.03%), and moisture (15.1±1.95%) contents were found in fresh oyster shell meal. A significant higher yield of soybean (1.33 t ha<SUP>−1</SUP>) was obtained by applying composted oyster shell meal (a 21% higher yield than with fresh oyster shell meal). Thus composting of oyster shell increases the utility of oyster shell as a liming material for crop cultivation.</P>
