H. pylori 제균으로 완전 관해된 위의 고도 MALT 림프종 1예 : a case report
황창연,류민희,강윤구,김태원,장흥문,엄대운,허주령 대한내과학회 2004 대한내과학회지 Vol.66 No.1
Low grade MALT lymphoma of stomach is associated with H. pylori infection in more than 90% of cases, and eradication of H. pylori leads to regression of the low grade MALT lymphoma in 60∼90% of cases. On the contrary, high grade MALT lymphoma is thought to be independent from H. pylori for growth and usually is thought to require antitumor chemotherapy. However, there have been recent reports of high grade MALT lymphoma regressing after H. pylori eradication. We experienced and are reporting a case of high grade MALT lymphoma arising in the background of low grade MALT lymphoma that showed complete regression after H. pylori eradication.
ERS SAR Observations of the Korean Coastal Waters
Yoon, Hong-Joo,Mitnik Leonid M.,Kang, Heung-Soon,Cho, Han-Keun The Korean Society of Remote Sensing 2007 大韓遠隔探査學會誌 Vol.23 No.1
The processes of regional scales in the East Korean coastal waters were investigated by analysis of the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images taken by the European Research Satellites ERS-1, ERS-2 and Envisat. More than 500 quick look frames taken in 1991-2003 were examined to detect the frames with clearly surface expressions of oceanic phenomena. 26 ERS-1/2 SAR and 11 Envisat wide swath Advanced SAR (ASAR) frames were selected and obtained from the European Space Agency in a form of the precision high-resolution images. The following oceanic phenomena and processes were evident in the radar imagery through the Korean costal waters: fronts, currents, eddies, internal waves, island and ship wakes, oil pollution, etc. They manifested themselves in the field of sea surface roughness, their scale ranged from several tens meters to about 100 km. The most common morphology of these phenomena was a series of contrast dark or light curvilinear lines and bands. The joint analysis of the discussed SAR images with other satellite and in situ data supported and enhanced our interpretation of SAR signatures.
Variations of Sea Level and Sea Surface Temperature in Korean Seas by Topex/Poseidon and NOAA
Yoon, Hong-Joo,Kang, Heung-Soon,Cho, Han-Keun The Korean Society of Remote Sensing 2007 大韓遠隔探査學會誌 Vol.23 No.1
Altimeter (Topex/Poseidon) and AVHRR (NOAA) data were used to study the variations and correlations of Sea Level (SL) and Sea Surface Temperature (SST) in the North East Asian Seas from November 1993 to May 1998. This region is influenced simultaneously to continental and oceanic climate as the border of the East Sea (Japan Sea). SL and SST have increased gradually every year because the global warming, and presented usually a strong annual variations in Kuroshio extension region with the influence of bottom topography.
Yoon-Young Sung,Heung Joo Yuk,Dong-Seon Kim 고려인삼학회 2021 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.45 No.5
Background: Saengmaeksan (SMS) is a traditional Korean medicine composed of three herbs, Panax ginseng, Schisandra chinensis, and Liriope platyphylla. SMS is used to treat respiratory and cardiovascular disorders. However, whether SMS exerts antihyperuricemic effects is unknown. Methods: Effects of the SMS extract in water (SMS-W) and 30% ethanol (SMS-E) were studied in a rat model of potassium oxonate-induced hyperuricemia. Uric acid concentrations and xanthine oxidase (XO) activities were evaluated in the serum, urine, and hepatic tissue. Using renal histopathology to assess kidney function and uric acid excretion, we investigated serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen concentrations, as well as protein levels of renal urate transporter 1 (URAT1), glucose transporter 9 (GLUT9), and organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1). The effects of SMS on in vitro XO activity and uric acid uptake were also evaluated. The components of SMS were identified using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC). Results: SMS-E reduced serum uric acid and creatinine concentrations, and elevated urine uric acid excretion. SMS-E lowered XO activities in both the serum and liver, and downregulated the expression of renal URAT1 and GLUT9 proteins. SMS-E reduced renal inflammation and IL-1b levels in both the serum and kidneys. SMS-E inhibited both in vitro XO activity and urate uptake in URAT1-expressing oocytes. Using UPLC, 25 ginsenosides were identified, all of which were present in higher levels in SMS-E than in SMS-W. Conclusion: SMS-E exhibited antihyperuricemic effects by regulating XO activity and renal urate transporters, providing the first evidence of its applicability in the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout.
