      • CC Chemokine CKβ8의 발현 조절 물질 탐색 및 저해활성 물질 분석

        CKβ8은 CC 케모카인의 부류에 속하는 사이토카인의 일종으로, 단핵구, 호염구, 호산구, T 림프구, 자연살해세포, 수지상세포 등의 화학주성물질로 작용하는 것으로 알려져 있다. CKβ8은 염증반응 및 혈관신생 등과 같은 여러 가지 생체 반응에 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 사람 CKβ8 유전자의 전사저해 물질을 선별하기 위하여 CKβ8/Luc 유전자를 발현하는 세포주를 확립하였다. CKβ8 유전자의 전사시작점에서 -299 부터 +10 프로모터 부위를 PCR에 의해 얻은 다음 포유세포 발현 플라스미드에 클로닝하였다. CKβ8/Lvc 유전자는 U937 세포내에서 PMA에 의해 10배 이상 발현이 증가한다. CKβ8/Luc 발현 U937 세포주는 식물 추출물에서 전사 저해제를 탐색하는데 이용되었다. 46 개의 식물 추출물 중에서 6개가 90% 이상 CKβ8/Luc의 전사를 저해하였다. 이들 물질에 대해 세포 독성 실험을 수행한 결과 그 중 한 개만이 세포 독성이 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이 추출물은 붉나무에서 얻은 추출물이며 이 식물 추출물은 염증관련 질환에 대한 가능성이 있는 치료제로 이용될 수도 있을 것으로 추측된다. Ckβ8 belongs to a family of CC chemokines, which is known to act as a chemoattractant for monocytes, basophils, eosinophils, T lymphocytes, NK cells, and dendritic cells. CKβ8 is known to play roles in various biological processes such as inflammation and angiogenesis. In the present study, we developed U937 cell line expressing CKβ8/Luciferase fusion gene for screening of transcriptional inhibitors for human CKβ8 gene. Genomic sequences that contain CKβ8 promoter region from 299 to+10 nucleotide from the transcription start site was amplified by PCR and cloned into mammalian episomal plasmid. The CKβ8/Luc fusion plasmid was introduced into human promonocytic U937 cells and selected for stable U937 cells expressing the fused reporter gene. The expression of the fusion gene was induced by more than 10 folds upon treatment of phorbol myristate acetate. The stable U937 transfectant cells were used for searching transcriptional inhibitors for human CKβ8 gene from plant extracts. Among 46 plant extracts tested, six extracts exerted more than 90% inhibition of PMA-induced CKβ8 transcription. Cytotoxic tests demonstrated that one of extracts, which was extracted from Rhus chinensis Mill, had little cytotoxic effect. The extract may be used for developing a potential therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases.

        정신분열병 환자에서 세가지 청각 자극 "Oddball" 모형에 의한 사건관련전위 P3a와 P3b

        Objectives : Using 3-stimulus auditory "oddball" paradigm reflecting fronto/central and temporo/parietal functions Simultaneously, we examined patients with schizophrenia. Methods : fifteen patients with schizophrenia from outpatient clinic and fifteen normal controls from hospital staffs were recruited for the study. To elicit P3a and P3b, 3-stimulus auditory oddball paradigm was employed. The 3-stimulus auditory oddball paradigm was composed of standard tone (1,000 Hz, 75 dB, 80%), target tone (2,000 Hz, 75 dB, 10%) and distracter (White noise, 95 dB, 10%). Results : P3a and P3b were prominent in fronto/central and temporo/parietal areas, respectively, in both schizophrenics and normal controls. The P300 amplitude in patients with schizophrenia was reduced across P3a and P3b (p<0.01). The P300latency in patients with schizophrenia was delayed across P3a and P3b (p<0.01). Conclusion : These results were consistent with frontal and temporo-parietal lobe dysfunctions in schizophrenics. The 3-stimulus auditory paradigm could be applied for patients with schizophrenia and useful for further exploration the disorder.

      • 播種期 移動에 따른 차풀의 生育反應, 收量 및 粗成分 變化

        ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine influence of planting date, seeding rate and phosphate rate on main growth, characters, yield and chemical composition of senna from March 11, 1998 to December in Cheju Province. Days to flowering was lessened as planting date was delayed. The plant height of senna was the longest at 31 March planting (99cm) than at the other planting date. Stem diameter, number of leaves were increased at 31 March but number of branches was not affected by planting date. And number of withering leaves were increased as planting date was earlier. Fresh forage yield per lOa, for senna was the greatest (4,660kg) at 31 March planting, the second was 4,397kg at 1 April planting and the reduced the 3,473kg at 11 March planting. Also dry matter yield per lOa, crude protein yield and total digestable nutrient (TDN) yield was nearly the same tendency. Crude protein, crude fat percent was the greastest at 11 March planting and than decreased with further increased at planting date. Crude ash and crude fiber percent was decreased tendency as planting date was delayed. Nitrogen free extract (NFE), TDN percent was increased tendency as planting date was delayed. SPAD reading value of leaves had an efficiency increased as planting date was delayed.

      • 무선 ATM망에서의 동적 대역폭 할당 알고리즘에 대한 QoS 성능 연구

        In the network with small cell radius, a mobile terminal which has large mobility should perform frequent handover. This requires that handover mechanism must be done fastly. As cell size is smaller, signal power level is lower Handover is implemented by the network to give the users freedom of motion beyond a limited wireless coverage area while they are communication. The handover is procedure by which a user's radio link is transferred from one radio port to another through the network without an interruption of the user collection. The currently existing method for handover uses an algorithm, in which the bandwidth corresponding to the adjacent cells is supposed to be allocated. However, this method leads to the problem of requiring bandwidth allocation for many-unknown cells, due to the lack of information toward moving direction in mobile terminal. In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm for solving those problem above, based on both path rerouting handover and soft hangover mechanism with wireless ATM. Thus, only the bandwidth for corresponding adjacent cell, that is from estimation, is chosen to be reserved; this method drastically reduces the waste of bandwidth, and improves the efficiency in performance. Comparing with static bandwidth allocation algorithm, the proposed algorithm make a bandwidth allocation more efficient. As for the QoS, it has been shown that proposed algorithm shows better performance than that with static bandwidth allocation algorithm.

      • 폐지 소각 공정의 전과정평가

        본 연구에서는 전과정평가(Life Cycle Assessment, LCA)기법을 이용하여 폐지 소각 공정에 대한 전과정영향평가를 수행하였다. 폐지 1kg을 소각할 경우, 전력 0.089kwh, 용수 0.86kg, 각종 화학약품 0.0086kg이 투입되고 대기배출물로 이산화탄소는 1.13kg, NOx는 0.0015kg 발생되고 바닥재와 비산재는 각각 0.1kg, 0.013kg 발생하며 폐열을 이용한 스팀 에너지 3.42MJ이 회수된다. 소각 공정 자체에 의한 이산화탄소 배출은 1.13kg/f.u.이며 에너지 회수로 인하여 0.32kg/f.u.가 환경 이득이 되어 최종적으로 0.82kg /f.u.의 이산화탄소가 발생한다. 전과정 영향평가 결과, 지구온난화가 77.7%, 자원고갈 6.3%, 산성화, 부영양화, 생태독성 순으로 조사되었다. 이산화탄소의 주원인인 탄소함량을 줄이면 환경영향이 줄어들 수 있으나 일반적인 종이의 탄소함량은 일정하므로 이는 해결방안으로 적절치 못하다. 그렇다면 폐열 에너지 회수율을 높이는 것이 전체 환경부하 저감에 도움이 될 것이다. 회수율을 높이는 방안으로는 수분함량을 줄이는 것, 즉 폐지와 함께 섞여 들어오는 음식물 쓰레기의 양을 줄이면 에너지 회수율을 좀 더 증가시켜 환경부하를 저감하는 하나의 방안이 될 것이다. 또한 보다 근본적인 해결방안으로는 되도록이면 현재 56% 정도인 폐지의 재활용률을 높여 폐지소각으로 인한 환경부하 발생을 감소시켜야 할 것이다. This study is about practicing LCA on the incinerating waste paper. One kilogram of waste paper needs a 0.089kwh of electricity, 0.86kg of water and 0.0086kg of various chemicals while burned. As a result, 1.13kg of CO2, 0.0015kg of NOx are eliminated as the outcome to the air. Also, 0.1kg of ashs and 0.013kg of arsenic acids are produced. Steam caused by using waste heat is recovered by 3.42MJ. The exhaust of CO2 in the stage of incinerating itself is 1.13kg/f.u. but it gets 0.32kg/f.u. from the energy recovery, so, the total counts 0.82kg/f.u. The order of impact categories from the LCA result is global warming(77.7%), abiotic resource depletion(6.3%) and acidification, eutrophication, ecotoxicity. Even though it might somewhat reduce the bad effect on ecology to cut back the amount of carbon, which is the main ingredient in CO2, however, given that the amount of carbon in paper remains unchanged, that is not the proper plan. Now we can suppose that promote energy recovery would help minimizing the overall burden on the environment. One solution to increase the rate of energy recovery is reducing the content of water in food waste came along with waste paper. And this results in lessening the burden on the environment. Promoting the recycling rate of waste paper, which accounts 56% now, might be the basic solution to reduce the burden on ecology generated from the incineration of paper.

      • 작업환경을 통합한 전과정평가 기법에 관한 연구

        일반적으로 전과정평가는 제품시스템의 전과정에서 사업장으로 들어오거나 사업장에서 배출되는 물질들을 정량화하고 이들이 외부환경에 미치는 잠재적인 영향을 평가하는 환경성평가 도구이다. 하지만 사업장에서 배출되는 물질들은 작업장의 외부환경 뿐만 아니라 작업환경에도 영향을 미친다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 전과정평가의 기본골격에 작업환경을 통합하여 평가할 수 있는 방법론을 개발하였다. 본 방법론에서는 서로 다른 특성을 가지는 작업환경과 외부환경의 영향을 적절하게 통합하기 위하여 시스템경계와 범주지표의 수준을 동일하게 맞출 수 있는 일반요건을 설정하였다. 시스템경계의 수준을 동일하게 하기 위하여 산업연관분석(IOA)기법을 도입하였고, 범주지표의 수준을 동일하게 조정하기 위하여 DALY, PAF, LWD와 같은 종말점 수준의 범주지표를 활용하였다. 개발한 방법론에 대한 이해를 돕기 위하여 국내에서 생산된 석유화학제품을 중심으로 사례연구를 수행하였다. A conventional life cycle assessment (LCA) framework mainly evaluates the environmental impacts associated with inputs and outputs from/to external environment of a product system. However the inputs and outputs generated from a facility influence not only the external environment but also the working environment. Therefore, this study developed the methodology that could integrates the working environment into a conventional LCA framework. It established the general requirements for adjusting the levels of the system boundary and category indicators in order to integrate appropriately the impacts of both the working environment and the external environment which have the different characteristics. Thus, this study introduced Input Output Analysis (IOA) technique in order to extend the system boundary to the life cycle of a product system, and applied the category indicator such as the number of Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALY), the Potentially Affected Fraction (PAF) and Lost Work Days (LWD) in order to assess the impacts of end point level. A case study of a petrochemical company in Korea was provided as an example for illustrating the feasibility of the methodology developed in this study.

      • 한국 진도개와 삽사리 혈액 단백질의 비교연구 : Ⅱ. 혈청 Lactate Dehydrogenase와 혈청 Alkaline Phosphatase의 동위효소와 활성도 Ⅱ. Isozymes and Activities of Serum Lactate Dehydrogenase and Serum Alkaline Phosphatase

        진도개와 삽사리 혈청 lactate dehydrogenase와 혈청 alkaline phosphatase의 동위효소 및 효소활성도를 분석하였다. 전기영동결과 진도개와 삽사리의 혈청에서는 5가지 종류의 LDH의 동위효소가 모두 확인되었다. LDH의 활성도는 진돗개의 경우 522.53 ± 279.96(U/L)이었고 삽사리는 534.10 ± 280.35(U/L)이었다. 진도개와 삽사리의 혈청 alkaline phosphatase전기영동상에서는 한 종류의 동위효소만 관찰되었고 활성도는 진도개의 경우 7.61 ± 4.52(K-A unit)였고 삽사리는 10.46 ± 7.10(K-A unit)였다. 삽사리의 ALP 활성도는 연령에 따라 커다란 차이를 나타내었다. Isozymes and activities of serum lactate dehydrogenase and serum alkaline phosphatase were examined in Korean Jindo dog and Sapsaree. The electrophoretic pattern of serum lactate dehydrogenase showed five isozymes. The activities of serum lactate dehydrogenase were 522.53 ± 279.96 and 534.10 ± 280.35(U/L) in Jindo dog and Sapsaree. One kind of isozymes was observed in electrophoretic phenotypes of serum alkaline phosphatase. The activities of serum alkaline phosphatase were 7.61 ± 4.52 and 10.46 ± 7.10 (K-A unit) in Jindo dog and Sapsaree. A significant difference of alkaline phosphatase was observed according to the age in Sapsaree.

      • OB-62 : Spontaneous restoration of missed uterine inversion

        Uterine inversion is easily detected during physical examination but its diagnosis can be missed in a case of partial inversion or when ob-stetricians` experiences are insufficient. Also, the management of uterine inversion can be a trouble to obstetricians in a delayed diagnosing case. Here, we wish to present a case of missed partial uterine inversion which managed with uterine artery embolization successfully and resulted in spontaneous restoration at 8 weeks of postpartum. A postpartum woman was admitted due to acute postpartum bleeding and treated by uterine embolization with a diagnosis of uterine atony. However, partial uterine inversion was detected during scheduled pelvic examination performing at three weeks after discharge. Since she did not have significant vaginal bleeding and did not want surgical intervention, we decide to observe in-stead of laparoscopic surgery. Fortunately, her uterus was completely repositioned without any intervention at 4 weeks after the detection of missed uterine inversion.

        Case Report : Adult granulosa cell tumor presenting with massive ascites, elevated CA-125 level, and low 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake on positron emission tomography/computed tomography

        Adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCTs) presenting with massive ascites and elevated serum CA-125 levels have rarely been described in the literature. An ovarian mass, massive ascites, and elevated serum CA-125 levels in postmenopausal women generally suggest a malignant ovarian tumor, particularly advanced epithelial ovarian cancer. AGCT has low 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake on positron emission tomography/computed tomography due to its low metabolic activity. In the present report, we describe a case of an AGCT with massive ascites, elevated serum CA-125 level, and low 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake on positron emission tomography/computed tomography.
