An Inter-Ethnic Comparison Study of Ziprasidone Plasma Levels, Dosage and Clinical Response in Patients with Schizophrenia

        Dongsheng Lv,Meirong Zhao,Lixia Chen,Dongsheng Yu,Xiaobin Yun,Qing Yang,Xiaojun Huang 대한신경정신의학회 2017 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.14 No.3

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate ziprasidone plasma concentration, daily dose and clinical efficacy and safety in Han Chinese and Mongolian patients with first-episode schizophrenia. Methods: A total of 123 inpatients affected by schizophrenia were recruited from the Mental Health Center of Inner Mongolia in China. Ziprasidone plasma concentration, clinical efficacy and side effects were systematically evaluated at baseline, and at 1, 2, 4, and 6 weeks. Metabolic measures such as changes in weight, body mass index (BMI), fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglycerides, and cholesterol, were also recorded. Results: 90 patients completed the study. Compared with Han patients, on average, Mongolian patients received a significantly higher ziprasidone dosage for adequate symptom control during the 6-week period and had a lower plasma concentration-to-dose ratio. The Mongolian patients also experienced greater increases in weight and BMI. No significant differences between the two ethnic groups were found in the rate of reduction in the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) score, Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) total score, FBG, triglycerides, cholesterol or Q-Tc interval. Conclusion: Compared to Han Chinese patients, Mongolian patients appeared to have increased ziprasidone clearance and require higher doses to achieve effective treatment for schizophrenia.

      • MR Image Segmentation Using Graph Cuts Based Geodesic Active Contours

Dongsheng Ji,Yukao Yao,Qingjun Yang,Xiaoyun Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.1

In this paper, present a graph cuts based geodesic active contours (GAC) approach to object segmentation problems. Our method is a combination of geodesic active contours and the optimization tool of graph cuts and differs fundamentally from traditional active contours in that it uses graph cuts to iteratively deform the contour. Consequently, it has the following advantages. 1. It has the ability to jump over local minima and provide a more global result. 2. Graph cuts guarantee continuity and lead to smooth contours free of self-crossing and uneven spacing problems. Therefore, the internal force which is commonly used in traditional energy functions to control the smoothness is no longer needed, and hence the number of parameters is greatly reduced. 3 Our approach easily extends to the segmentation of three and higher dimensional objects. In addition, the algorithm is suitable for interactive correction and is shown to always converge. Experimental results and analyses are provided.

Dual-Coupled Inductor High Gain DC/DC Converter with Ripple Absorption Circuit

        Yang, Jie,Yu, Dongsheng,Alkahtani, Mohammed,Yuan, Ligen,Zhou, Zhi,Zhu, Hong,Chiemeka, Maxwell The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.6

High-gain DC/DC converters have become one of the key technologies for the grid-connected operation of new energy power generation, and its research provides a significant impetus for the rapid development of new energy power generation. Inspired by the transformer effect and the ripple-suppressed ability of a coupled inductor, a double-coupled inductor high gain DC/DC converter with a ripple absorption circuit is proposed in this paper. By integrating the diode-capacitor voltage multiplying unit into the quadratic Boost converter and assembling the independent inductor into the magnetic core of structure coupled inductors, the adjustable range of the voltage gain can be effectively extended and the limit on duty ratio can be avoided. In addition, the volume of the magnetic element can be reduced. Very small ripples of input current can be obtained by the ripple absorption circuit, which is composed of an auxiliary inductor and a capacitor. The leakage inductance loss can be recovered to the load in a switching period, and the switching-off voltage spikes caused by leakage inductance can be suppressed by absorption in the diode-capacitor voltage multiplying unit. On the basis of the theoretical analysis, the feasibility of the proposed converter is verified by test results obtained by simulations and an experimental prototype.

Robust Fault Diagnosis Observer Design for Uncertain Switched Systems

        Dongsheng Du,Yue Yang,Huanyu Zhao,Yushun Tan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.12

In order to improve the fault diagnosis theory of switched systems, observer-based method is proposed to deal with the fault diagnosis issue subjected to the parameter uncertainty, unknown process disturbances and unexpected faults. By employing proportional-integral observer (PIO) technique and the average dwell-time (ADT) method, an H∞/H− performance level is considered to ensure the worst case of robustness to the disturbance and sensitivity to the fault simultaneously. Moreover, the obtained fault diagnosis observer can give accurate fault estimation online for the piecewise constant fault. Finally, a two-tank system example is introduced in the end to show the effectiveness of the proposed results.

miR-195/miR-497 Regulate CD274 Expression of Immune Regulatory Ligands in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

        Lianzhou Yang,Yuchen Cai,Dongsheng Zhang,Jian Sun,Chenyu Xu,Wenli Zhao,Wenqi Jiang,Chunhua Pan 한국유방암학회 2018 Journal of breast cancer Vol.21 No.4

Purpose: Immune suppression is common in patients with advanced breast cancer but the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon have not been sufficiently studied. In this study, we aimed to identify B7 family members that were able to predict the immune status of patients, and which may serve as potential targets for the treatment of breast cancer. We also aimed to identify microRNAs that may regulate the expression of B7 family members. Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas data from 1,092 patients with breast cancer, including gene expression, microRNA expression and survival data, were used for statistical and survival analyses. Polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to measure messenger RNA and protein expression, respectively. Luciferase assay was used to investigate direct microRNA target. Results: Bioinformatic analysis predicted that microRNA (miR)-93, miR-195, miR-497, and miR-340 are potential regulators of the immune evasion of breast cancer cells, and that they exert this function by targeting CD274, PDCD1LG2, and NCR3LG1. We chose CD274 for further investigations. We found that miR-195, miR-497, and CD274 expression levels were inversely correlated in MDA-MB-231 cells, and miR-195 and miR-497 expressions mimic inhibited CD274 expression in vitro. Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that miR-195 and miR-497 directly target CD274 3´ untranslated region. Conclusion: Our data indicated that the level of B7 family members can predict the prognosis of breast cancer patients, and miR-195/miR-497 regulate CD274 expression in triple negative breast cancer. This regulation may further influence tumor progression and the immune tolerance mechanism in breast cancer and may be able to predict the effect of immunotherapy on patients.

UIO-based Fault Estimation and Accommodation for Nonlinear Switched Systems

        Haoshuang Chen,Dongsheng Du,Dewen Zhu,Yan Yang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.2

This paper investigates the problems of fault estimation and fault accommodation for a class of nonlinearswitched systems. First, an augmented switched system is constructed by forming an augmented state vectorcomposed of the state vector and the fault vectors. Then, an unknown input observer (UIO) is designed for theaugmented switched system to estimate the augmented state vector. With the assist of the average dwell-time(ADT) method and the switched Lyapunov function technique, sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee thatthe error system is globally uniformly asymptotically stable (GUAS) with a prescribed H∞ performance index. Analgorithm is provided to show the procedures on how to design the UIO. Moreover, the results are extended to themeasurement disturbances case. Based on signal compensation principle, a dynamic output feedback controller isdesigned to ensure the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system. Finally, simulation results are presented todemonstrate the proposed technique.

      • Modeling of subway indoor air quality using Gaussian process regression

        Liu, Hongbin,Yang, Chong,Huang, Mingzhi,Wang, Dongsheng,Yoo, ChangKyoo Elsevier 2018 Journal of hazardous materials Vol.359 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Soft sensor modeling of indoor air quality (IAQ) in subway stations is essential for public health. Gaussian process regression (GPR), as an efficient nonlinear modeling method, can effectively interpret the complicated features of industrial data by using composite covariance functions derived from base kernels. In this work, an accurate GPR soft sensor with the sum of squared-exponential covariance function and periodic covariance function is proposed to capture the time varying and periodic characteristics in the subway IAQ data. The results demonstrate that the prediction performance of the proposed GPR model is superior to that of the traditional soft sensors consisting of partial least squares, back propagation artificial neural networks, and least squares support vector regression (LSSVR). More specifically, the values of root mean square error, mean absolute percentage error, and coefficient of determination are improved by 12.35%, 9.53%, and 40.05%, respectively, in comparison with LSSVR.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Gaussian process regression (GPR) is proposed to predict particulate matter (PM2.5) in a subway. </LI> <LI> Compositional structure of different base kernels of GPR is proposed to model PM2.5. </LI> <LI> GPR with sum of squared-exponential and periodic kernels provides the best modeling performance. </LI> <LI> The proposed GPR was compared with other soft sensors including PLS, ANN, and SVM. </LI> </UL> </P>

One-Pot Fast Synthesis of Leaf-Like CuO Nanostructures and CuO/Ag Microspheres with Photocatalytic Application

        Ning Zhou,Meng Yuan,Dongsheng Li,Deren Yang 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2017 NANO Vol.12 No.3

A time- and energy- saving solution-based chemical precipitation method was developed to synthesize leaf-like CuO nanostructures. The morphology and size of the leaf-like CuO nanostructures could be simply manipulated by controlling the type and concentration of precursors, and the oriented attachment mechanism is responsible for the formation of leaf-like shape. With the concurrent reduction reaction and at appropriate concentration, CuO/Ag microspheres could be prepared and the growth mechanism is proposed. These two structures could serve as effective photocatalyst for the degradation of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. Moreover, compared to pure CuO nanostructures, the photodecomposition activity of CuO/Ag microspheres increases by 42.9% due to plasmon-enhanced light absorption.

SAR Image De-noising Based on Residual Image Fusion and Sparse Representation

( Xiaole Ma ),( Shaohai Hu ),( Dongsheng Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.7

Since the birth of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), it has been widely used in the military field and so on. However, the existence of speckle noise makes a good deal inconvenience for the subsequent image processing. The continuous development of sparse representation (SR) opens a new field for the speckle suppressing of SAR image. Although the SR de-noising may be effective, the over-smooth phenomenon still has bad influence on the integrity of the image information. In this paper, one novel SAR image de-noising method based on residual image fusion and sparse representation is proposed. Firstly we can get the similar block groups by the non-local similar block matching method (NLS-BM). Then SR de-noising based on the adaptive K-means singular value decomposition (K-SVD) is adopted to obtain the initial de-noised image and residual image. The residual image is processed by Shearlet transform (ST), and the corresponding de-noising methods are applied on it. Finally, in ST domain the low-frequency and high-frequency components of the initial de-noised and residual image are fused respectively by relevant fusion rules. The final de-noised image can be recovered by inverse ST. Experimental results show the proposed method can not only suppress the speckle effectively, but also save more details and other useful information of the original SAR image, which could provide more authentic and credible records for the follow-up image processing.
