        In this paper, an improved cache controller system supporting Dragon protocol is designed and implemented that maintains cache coherence on multiprocessor system which share a system bus and a common main memory. The improvement of the proposed cache controller system, was caused by modifying operation method on processor write miss. It can reduce data traffic considerably on a shared system bus, eventually increasing system preformance.

      • 군위지역 오이 시설 재배지의 토양특성 변화

        군위군 오이재배지역을 정밀토양도를 이용하며 토양특성을 조사하구 군위군 노지 및 시설오이 재배지토양의 물리화학적 특성을 조사하여, 연작과 관행적인 토양관리로 인하여 저하된 토양의 이화학적 특성을 오이재배에 적합한 토양으로 개량하기 위한 기초자료로 이용하고자 토양조사를 실시하였다. 조사지역은 군위군 군위읍 외랑리 오이재배단지로서 주요토양통은 토양토에 나타난 단북통과 신정들이 가장 넓게 분포하였으며, 점토함량은 시설재배지내 토양의 경우 양토이었으며, 시설재배지의 외부 토양의 경우 23.8%로 높게 나타났다. 오이 재배지 토양의 화학적 특성 결과에 대한 오이재배지 토양의 적정범위와비교하여 보면 일반적인 화학적 성질에서 서는 유효인산의 함량이 적정범위보다 높은 것을 알 수 있으며, 치환성 양이온 함량은 시설재배지의 외부토양은 적정범위에 속하나 시설재배지 내부토양은 모두 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 최상부 토양은 매우 높으나 l0cm이하는 깊이에 따라 뚜렷한 차이는 없었다. 오이 재배지 토양 중 중금속 함량은 모두 기준치보다 높게 나타났는데, 구리의 함량이 시설재배지가 노지재배지보다 높게 나타났다. The soils of plastic film houses in which intensive cultivation takes place suffer from the serious problems such as severe salinity and accumulation of heavy metals etc. The objective of this research was to examine the change in soil properties with repeated cucumber cultivation under plastic film house at Gunwi-Gun area. The soils were classified mainly to Danbuk and SinJung series. Clay content is lower in the soils of plastic film house than in the field soil. Available P205 and exchangeable cations were accumulated at the level higher than the optimum range. The content of extractable heavy metals were higher in the soils of plastic film house than in those of the field. For optimum yield, much attention should be paied to the management of soils by the pre-soil survey.

        With rapid growth of the internet, need for the mobile communication networks is increasing. In this paper, we implement and test Mobile IP Protocol in Embedded System. Our Mobile IP-based testbed consisted of two sub-networks and each sub-network was configured to operate independently through use of router. To satisfy integrated wired/wireless network model established on the testbed design and show generality of the testbed, we implemented mobile nodes, home agent, foreign agent and router on the basis of Linux operating system. As the results of the evaluation, we confirmed that mobile nodes operated properly according to Mobile IP Protocol.

        CASE REPORT : A Case of Perforated Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor in the Jejunum as a Rare Cause of Acute Abdomen

        Preoperative diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GISTs) in the small intestine is often delayed until complications such as hemorrhage, bowel obstruction or perforation develop. Such GISTs are usually asymptomatic and tumor perforation is an uncommon clinical presentation. In this report, we review the diagnosis, pathology and treatment of a 32-year-old male with a perforated GIST in the jejunum who presented with symptoms of acute abdomen. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) showed a ruptured huge tumor with inhomogeneous density in the small intestine. The patient underwent a complete tumor excision and jejunal segmental resection. A histopathological examination of the tumor confirmed that it was a GIST. Postoperatively, the patient received medical treatment, using oral Imatinib 400 mg daily for 10 months without any signs of disease recurrence. Prognosis is worse in ruptured GISTs and in these cases, complete surgical resection of the tumor must be followed by adjuvant therapy with Imatinib. (Intest Res 2013;11:134-136)

        Modulation of Sarcodon Aspratus on lon Currents-induced by Excitatory Neurotransmitters in Rat Periaqueductal Gray Neurons

        Sarcodon aspratus is the mushroom of Telephoracea which was been classified into Alphllophorales. The aqueous extract of Sarcodon aspratus in known to have anti-tumor activity, immune modulatory effect, and anti-oxidative action. The descending pain control system consists of three major components: the periaqueductal gray (PAG) of the midbrain, the rostroventral medulla including the nucleus raphe magnus, and the spinal dorsal horn. Glutamate is the primary excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Glutamate ionotropic receptors are classified as N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, ${\alpha}$-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionate (AMPA) receptor, and kainate receptor. In the present study, the modulation of Sarcodon aspratus on the ion currents activated by glutamate, NMDA, AMPA, and kainate in the acutely dissociated PAG neurons was investigated by nystatin-perforated patch-clamp technique under boltage-clamp condition. Sarcodon aspratus increased glutamate- and NMDA-induced ion currents were not increased by Sarcodon aspratus. The present results show that Sarcodon aspratus may activate the descending pain control system in rat PAG neurons through NMDA receptor.

        Influence of Prenatal Noise and Music on the Expressions of c-Fos and Nitric Oxide Synthase in the Hippocampus of Rat Pups

        The expressions of c-Fos and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) represent neuronal activity and play' a crucial role in the shaping of the development of brain. During the late pregnancy, stresses may influence neuronal activity of prenatal rats. In the present study, the effects of prenatal noise and music on the expressions of c-Fos and NOS in the hippocampus of rat pups were investigated. Exposure to the noise during pregnancy decreased c-Fos and NOS expressions in the hippocampus of rat pups, whereas exposure to music during pregnancy increased c-Fos and NOS expressions in the hippocampus of rat pups. The present results show that prenatal music stimulation may increase neuronal activity of rat offspring, whereas exposure to noise during pregnancy may reduce the neuronal activity of offspring. The present study suggests that prenatal stimuli including noise and music could affect the fetal brain development.

        New Public Values and Norms in Late Nineteenth Century Korea: Reformist Intellectuals' Visions of a Post-Confucian Society

        This paper will explore the historical context of the Korean reformist intellectuals' adoption of new public values and norms in the late 19th century Most students of Korean political thought of the time argue that the reformists' reception of the new values and norms was caused by external factors, that is, the coming of the West and the subsequent destabilization of the traditional East Asian international order. However, they have failed to find the mechanism connecting the changes in the international environment and the reformists' adoption of new values and norms. This study looks for the mechanism in the change in the reformists' way of viewing the world. The reformists supported modern values and norms, like man's innate rights, increased liberty and equality for the common people, and the rule of law, not because they are normatively right or superb, but because they understood Western wealth and power as the result of the adoption of these values and norms. That is to say, they assessed the world on the basis of empirical observations. This factual view of the world led them to construct new conceptions of human beings and government. Through the new ideas of values and norms, human beings, and government, they intended to establish a new society. This indicates that, at least in the value system of the reformists, there was a paradigm shift in that era. However, this shift was not entirely the result of Western influences at the time because sirhak scholars in Choson's Confucian tradition had already developed this perspective of the world in the 18th century. In this respect, there is continuity between the sirhak scholars and the reformists.

      • Folium mori Increases Cell Proliferation and Neuropeptide Y Expression in Dentate Gyrus of Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

        The possibility has been raised that Folium mort is clinically effective for the treatment and prevention of diabetes In the present study, the effects of Folium mori on cell proliferation and expression of neuropeptide Y(NPY) in the dentate gyrus of rats with streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes were investigated by 5-bromo-2'deoxyuridine (BrdU) immunohistochemistry and NPY immunohistochemistry. In rats with STZ-induced diabetes, cell proliferation and NPY expression in the dentate gyrus were suppressed, and treatment with Folium mori was shown to increase new cell formation and NPY expression in the gyrus in both normal rats and those with STZ-induced diabetes. In light of previous studies, this result appears to indicate that increased expression of NPY in the dentate gyrus induced by treatment with Folium mori is associated with the observed effect of Folium mori extract on cell proliferation. Based on the present results, it is suggested that Folium mori treatment may aid in the recovery from the central nervous system complications of diabetes mellitus.

        Exploring the sound-modulated delay in tomato ripening through expression analysis of coding and non-coding RNAs

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P><B>Background and Aims</B></P><P>Sound is omnipresent in nature. Recent evidence supports the notion that naturally occurring and artificially generated sound waves induce inter- and intracellular changes in plants. These changes, in turn, lead to diverse physiological changes, such as enhanced biotic and abiotic stress responses, in both crops and model plants.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We previously observed delayed ripening in tomato fruits exposed to 1 kHz sound vibrations for 6 h. Here, we evaluated the molecular mechanism underlying this delaying fruit ripening by performing RNA-sequencing analysis of tomato fruits at 6 h, 2 d, 5 d and 7 d after 1 kHz sound vibration treatment.</P><P><B>Key Results</B></P><P>Bioinformatic analysis of differentially expressed genes and non-coding small RNAs revealed that some of these genes are involved in plant hormone and cell wall modification processes. Ethylene and cytokinin biosynthesis and signalling-related genes were downregulated by sound vibration treatment, whereas genes involved in flavonoid, phenylpropanoid and glucan biosynthesis were upregulated. Furthermore, we identified two sound-specific microRNAs and validated the expression of the pre-microRNAs and the mRNAs of their target genes.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Our results indicate that sound vibration helps to delay fruit ripening through the sophisticated regulation of coding and non-coding RNAs and transcription factor genes.</P>
