This article examines the relief works performed by Huang Gan who was a great Daoxue(道學) scholar as well as the local governor of the Hanyang prefecture in the mid-Southern Song period. Through this research, some significant discoveries about the local situations of the backward regions like the Hanyang prefecture and the local relief system during the Southern Song could have been made. Above all, the Hanyang prefecture had different relief system from the other regions then. While the Hanyang prefecture did not have any disaster relief agency like Yicang(義倉), the state-operating granaries like the Changpingcang(常平倉), which had usually played the role of the adjustment of grain prices in the regions, took over the role of the Yichang. When Huang took the post of prefect, a severe drought struck the region. Since it quickly revealed that the drought was beyond the limitations of Changpingcang, Huang established a new relief organization like the Baowu(保伍) system, an organization of mutual assistance by the local people. By allowing the local rich to provide the poor with the relief rice, the Southern Song government rewarded government posts to the rich as compensation instead. Through the Baowu system, in addition, Huang was able to grasp the exact circumstances of the damage with considerable efficiency. Not only as the local prefect but as a Daoxue scholar, on the other hand, Huang eventually succeeded in drought relief through establishing a local autonomous relief system like the Shecang(社倉) by Zhu Xi(朱熹)’s. Above of all, however, the most significant contribution of this research is that it kindly helped us to understand how the local government and local community could have coped with the severe disaster together during the Southern Song period.

This study was designed to elucidate the effect of ozone exposure on the bacteria counts and oxidative properties of ground Hanwoo beef contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 at refrigeration temperature. Ground beef was inoculated with 7 Log CFU/g of E. coli O157:H7 isolated from domestic pigs and was then subjected to ozone exposure (10×10 -6 kg O3 h-1) at 4°C for 3 d. E. coli O157:H7, total aerobic and anaerobic bacterial growth and oxidative properties including instrumental color changes, TBARS, catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity were evaluated. Ozone exposure significantly prohibited (p<0.05) the growths of E. coli O157:H7, total aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in ground beef samples during storage. Ozone exposure reduced (p<0.05) the CIE a* value of samples over storage time. The CIE L* and CIE b* values of the samples fluctuated over storage time, and ozone had no clear effect. Ozone exposure increased the TBARS values during 1 to 3 d of storage (p<0.05). The CAT and GPx enzyme activities were not affected by ozone exposure until 2 and 3 d of storage, respectively. This study provides information about the use of ozone exposure as an antimicrobial agent for meat under refrigerated storage. The results of this study provide a foundation for the further application of ozone exposure by integrating an ozone generator inside a refrigerator. Further studies regarding the ozone concentrations and exposure times are needed.

In this paper, we propose a scheme that minimizes the energy imbalance problem of solar-powered wireless sensor network (SP-WSN) using both a mobile sink capable of wireless power transfer and an efficient clustering scheme (including cluster head election). The proposed scheme charges the cluster head using wireless power transfer from a mobile sink and mitigates the energy hotspot of the nodes nearby the head. SP-WSNs can continuously harvest energy, alleviating the energy constraints of battery-based WSN. However, if a fixed sink is used, the energy imbalance problem, which is energy consumption rate of nodes located near the sink is relatively increased, cannot be solved. Thus, recent research approaches the energy imbalance problem by using a mobile sink in SP-WSN. Meanwhile, with the development of wireless power transmission technology, a mobile sink may play a role of energy charging through wireless power transmission as well as data gathering in a WSN. Simulation results demonstrate that increase the amount of collected data by the sink using the proposed scheme.

A study of the natural vibrations of beam resting on elastic foundation with finite number of transverse open cracks is presented. Frequency equations are derived for beams with different end restraints. Euler-Bernoulli beam on Winkler foundation and Euler-Bernoulli beam on Pasternak foundation are investigated. The cracks are modeled by massless substitute spring. The effects of the crack location, size and its number and the foundation constants, on the natural frequencies of the beam, are investigated.
The Design of Person Carrier Robot using SLAM and Robust Salient Detection
Youngjae Yun,Taeyang Gwon,Donghan Kim 제어로봇시스템학회 2018 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2018 No.10
In this paper, we propose a person carrier robot for the movement of people with blindness and injured lower body in the building. Visually impaired people are unfamiliar with the structure of the building for the first time, so there is a high risk of accidents when moving. Likewise, patients suffering from lower body injuries are more uncomfortable to move than normal people, and therefore, there are many difficulties in moving. To solve this problem, we propose a robot that creates a building map, moves to a destination, and detects obstacles. Hector SLAM is used to map buildings, calculation of odometry when person carrier robot is moving, USB camera and Robust Salient Detection for object detection.

To select electrical insulator (insulator) between coated conductor tapes (CC tapes) of two parallel non-inductively wound solenoid type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is a important issue. Insulator is inserted for separation of two parallel tapes. Quench characteristics and recovery time of SFCL are related on insulator and thermal contact condition. Insertion of tape-shape insulating materials is a normal way of insulation for non-inductively wound SFCL. Thus, various tape-shape insulating materials can be the insulator of SFCL. In this paper, sample holder to simulate parallel tapes with various insulators was fabricated, and sticky polyimide tape and insulating paper tape were chosen for insulator of samples. Short-circuit test was performed in the same condition except inserted insulator of samples. Quench characteristic, generation of resistance, and recovery time of each sample were compared to the others. Special sample holder was used to observe current division and sharing in two parallel coated conductor tapes. The variation of the voltage applied to the module for short-circuit test was from 1.82 (V) to 12.7 (V).
