New Records of Two Filamentous Brown Algae, Acinetospora asiatica and Botrytella reinboldii from Korea

        Antony Otinga Oteng’o,Jose Avila-Peltroche,So Young Jeong,Boo Yeon Won,Tae Oh Cho 한국환경생물학회 2018 환경생물 : 환경생물학회지 Vol.36 No.3

Acinetospora asiatica and Botrytella reinboldii are reported as two new records from S. Korea based on morphological studies and molecular analyses. A. asiatica is mainly characterized by the presence of sparsely branched uniseriate filaments with diffused meristematic zones, the formation of crampons at right angles, and the formation of plurilocular sporangia on both prostrate and erect filaments. B. reinboldii is characterized by the presence of irregularly alternating branched uniseriate filaments attached by rhizoids, and single or clustered plurilocular sporangia with a single opening. Molecular analyses of rbcL gene revealed that A. asiatica and B. reinboldii are placed within each clade of Acinetospora and Botrytella, respectively.

Vol.6 No.2

Background : Despite recent advances in antifungal chemotherapy, invasive aspergillosis remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Interleukin-15 (IL-15) is a cytokine that is known to enhance antifungal activities of monocytes against Candida albicans. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the potentials of IL-15 to enhance antifungal activities of monocytes against Aspergillus fumigatus. Methods: Peripheral blood monocytes from healthy adults were incubated with 0,1,10,100 ng/ml of IL-15 for 1, 2, and 4 days. Then, the ability of IL-15 to elicit the production of superoxide anion, the damage of hyphae by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyletrazolium bromide assay, and the killing ability of Aspergillus fumigatus conidia was investigated. Results: Incubation of peripheral blood monocytes with 100 ng/ml of IL-15 enhanced hyphal damage after 2 days (p<0.05), condicidal activity from the first day (p<0.05), and increased the production of superoxide anion (O2-) in response to phorbol myristate acetate. Conclusion: Our results indicate that IL-15 augments the microbicidal activity of human monocytes against Aspergillus fumigatus .[Kor J Med Mycol 6(2): 64-69]

Subcellular Localization of the Barley Stripe Mosaic Virus Triple Gene Block Proteins

        Lim, Hyoun-Sub,Bragg, Jennifer N.,Ganesan, Uma,Ruzin, Steven,Schichnes, Denise,Lee, Mi Yeon,Vaira, Anna Maria,Ryu, Ki Hyun,Hammond, John,Jackson, Andrew O. American Society for Microbiology 2009 Journal of virology Vol.83 No.18

        ABSTRACT
Barley stripe mosaic virus (BSMV) spreads from cell to cell through the coordinated actions of three triple gene block (TGB) proteins (TGB1, TGB2, and TGB3) arranged in overlapping open reading frames (ORFs). Our previous studies (D. M. Lawrence and A. O. Jackson, J. Virol. 75:8712-8723, 2001; D. M. Lawrence and A. O. Jackson, Mol. Plant Pathol. 2:65-75, 2001) have shown that each of these proteins is required for cell-to-cell movement in monocot and dicot hosts. We recently found (H.-S. Lim, J. N. Bragg, U. Ganesan, D. M. Lawrence, J. Yu, M. Isogai, J. Hammond, and A. O. Jackson, J. Virol. 82:4991-5006, 2008) that TGB1 engages in homologous interactions leading to the formation of a ribonucleoprotein complex containing viral genomic and messenger RNAs, and we have also demonstrated that TGB3 functions in heterologous interactions with TGB1 and TGB2. We have now used Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated protein expression in Nicotiana benthamiana leaf cells and site-specific mutagenesis to determine how TGB protein interactions influence their subcellular localization and virus spread. Confocal microscopy revealed that the TGB3 protein localizes at the cell wall (CW) in close association with plasmodesmata and that the deletion or mutagenesis of a single amino acid at the immediate C terminus can affect CW targeting. TGB3 also directed the localization of TGB2 from the endoplasmic reticulum to the CW, and this targeting was shown to be dependent on interactions between the TGB2 and TGB3 proteins. The optimal localization of the TGB1 protein at the CW also required TGB2 and TGB3 interactions, but in this context, site-specific TGB1 helicase motif mutants varied in their localization patterns. The results suggest that the ability of TGB1 to engage in homologous binding interactions is not essential for targeting to the CW. However, the relative expression levels of TGB2 and TGB3 influenced the cytosolic and CW distributions of TGB1 and TGB2. Moreover, in both cases, localization at the CW was optimal at the 10:1 TGB2-to-TGB3 ratios occurring in virus infections, and mutations reducing CW localization had corresponding effects on BSMV movement phenotypes. These data support a model whereby TGB protein interactions function in the subcellular targeting of movement protein complexes and the ability of BSMV to move from cell to cell.

        황오연 호남대학교 2007 학술논문집 Vol.28 No.1

Josoang of this paper is a thing that trying to grope solution of racial problem about human rights pillage, economical plundering, differentiation of education under Japan imperialism for 36 years. He instituted racial traits problem and racial problem facing under racial problem and Japan imperialism from historic viewpoint of the nation so that Korean people does solution of racial problem that faced. Josoang is indicating that historic cause of a disease was in history of our nation. It was inequality between nation member. Inequality was continued from Koguryo, Baekjae, Shillato the Chosyn Period in political, economical education field. Josoang thought that became cause that nation internal inequality problem is robbed of country and sovereignty to Japan. He was that problem of inequality that bring nation's unhappiness should be destroyed certainly. Therefore, he inequality problem by racial problem that Korean people should solves recognize. He path that solve racial problem of shipbuilding thing which destroys Japanese rule utensil and establishes rule organization of our nation center through nation revolutionary movement be. Josoang established to major premise realize by realistic racial problem and historic solution 'I am nation maximum majority's happiness'. He presented equality society realization and new democratic country construction inside by specific plan to realize this. Josoang is considered that it is three strain relationships take a triangular position to one ideology systematizes for equality society realization and new democratic country construction and fleshes, and death and injury of flax strains became foundation equality society or thought enemy of new democratic country construction theory. Saying too much may not be even if speak that Josoang was ended by practice of three strains for all Korean people footprint emperors actually.

음악에 의한 감성의 생리적 측정연구에 대한 소고

권오연 민족음악학회 2003 음악과 민족 Vol.25 No.-

The music expresses an emotion and a sensibility. However this emotion and sensibility objectively to measure, to appraise and to analyze is not easy. Purpose of this study is to examine a possibility to measure the human's emotional responses produced by musical sound with objective methods and investigate the relationships between the characteristics of the musical sounds and human's emotional features resulting from those sounds. For a research, first the concept of feeling, emotion and sensibility was researched. And then, measurement methods of emotion and sensibility using physiological signals like Electroencephalogram(EEG), f Magnetic Resonance Imaging(fMRI), Cardiovascular Activity and Electrodermal Activity(EDA) were explained. And the suitability of these methods as an objective measurement method of human's emotional responses were discussed. It introduced previous studies which researched the human's emotional responses produced(musical) sound with objective physiological methods, especially with EEG and it criticized. Theses studies supported the idea that effects of(musical) auditory stimulation are often manifested in the pattern of physiological responses where emotional components were mixed up. However the results of most previous studies that non musician made showed these studies didn't investigate musical emotion-specific physiological responses. They used music mostly as auditory stimuli that evoke pleasant emotion and the special characters of music were ignored in those studies. Musicians are interested much more in the specific relationship between musical emotion and physiological responses not only to understand music itself but also to develop and design the optimal emotional musical environments. The researchers have to consider special character of music in their studies. It introduced preceding researches and it criticized It introduced preceding researches and it criticized
