Catalytic and sorption applications of porous nickel phosphate materials

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Porous nickel phosphates, denoted as VSB-1 (Versailles-Santa Barbara-1) and VSB-5 (Versailles-Santa Barbara-5), are crystalline metal phosphate microporous molecular sieves with zeolitic properties. These nickel phosphates could be used as functional catalysts and adsorbents due to interesting properties to readily accommodate many transition metal elements in their frameworks besides zeolitic properties as well as the presence of framework nickel (II) ions. In this account, we provide an overview of selected results regarding their catalytic and sorption applications which have been published in the literature. VSB-1 and VSB-5 are similar to zeolites in many aspects and may be suitable for use as adsorbents for the separation of molecular species and as catalysts or catalyst supports. Particularly, these materials possess unique catalytic properties suitable for several reactions that do not require strong acidity. Isomorphous substitution of Ni<SUP>2+</SUP> with divalent or trivalent transition metals in a nickel phosphate structure can generate new redox centers and Brønsted-Lewis acid centers, providing interesting catalytic properties. Based on an understanding of the formation mechanism of nickel phosphate, VSB-5 was used in electrochemical applications and showed unusual surface chemistry of coordinatively unsaturated Ni<SUP>2+</SUP> sites accessible in its pores.</P>

본고에서는 컴퓨터의 출력장치로서 최근 가장 인기를 얻고 있는 논-임팩트 레이저 페이지 프린터(non-mpact laser page printer), 즉 레이저 빔 프린터(LBP : Laser Beam Printer)의 성능 및 특성에 관한 고찰과 현재 시판중인 desktop 레이저 빔 프린터를 비교 분석하고 그 응용사례에 대해서 간단히 소개하고자 한다.

N/A Objectives: Aeromonas species is a gram-negative, facultative anaerobe of the family Vibrionaceae. The organism has been recognized as a pathogen associated with illness in human, such as acute gastroenteritis, cellulitis, septicemia, and other rare diseases. Methods: To evaluate the clinical significance of Aeromonas bacteremia in Korea and it's susceptibility of antibiotics, we evaluated the 17patients with Aeromonas bacteremia. Identification was done by use of API 20E system and antibiotic susceptibility was tested with disk diffusion method. Results: Male to female ratio was 11:6, and mean age was 54.1years(8-85years) old. Liver cirrhosis was the most common underlying disease(10cases of 17patients, 58.8%a). Other underlying diseases were as follows: gallstone in 2cases, cholangiocarcinoma in 2cases, and aplastic anemia in 1case, cerebral infarction in 1case. But one had no underlying disease. So Aeromonas bacteremia were occurred in 14immunocompromised patients(82.3%), and in 10patients with hepatobiliary diseases, A. hydrophila was most commonly isolated(13cases, 764%), and the A sobria(4cases, 23.5%) was infrequently isolated. The overall fatality was 47%, and there had no significant difference in fatality between A. hydrophila and A sobria All Aeromonas species had resistance to ampicillin and carbenicillin. Conclusion: Because Aeromonas bacteremia may occur through water-borne route, especially in immunocompromised host. We should pay attention to immunocompromised patients, espacially having hepatobiliary disease.
Preparation and Optical Properties of $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu Phosphor

The photoluminescence and cathodoluminescence of $SrGa_2S_4:EU$ phosphor were optimized with the process and chemical variables (activators, fluxes and reaction temperature) used in solid state reaction. Firing the powder with flux at $800^{\circ}C$ for 2hr gave the highest photoluminescence efficiency under near-UV excitation and the highest cathodoluminescence efficiency of 20.1 lm/W at 2 kV and 33.3 lm/W at 10 kV. The suitability of $SrGa_2S_4:EU$ for application as a phosphor in LCDs and FEDs is discussed.
압축영역에서 움직임 벡터의 재추정을 이용한 비디오 해석 기법

본 논문은 MPEG 비디오에서 나타나는 여러 예측 형태의 움직임 벡터를 프레임 타입에 관계없이 단일 예측방향만을 갖도록 새롭게 추정하여 비디오 영상물의 분석에 직접적으로 활용하는 방안에 대해 제시하고 있다. 또한 재추정된 각 프레임에서의 움직임 벡터를 이용한 비디오 시퀀스 내에서의 객체 추출 및 추적 기법 등에 대해서도 새롭게 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 압축 영상에 대한 전체적인 복원과정을 거치지 않고, 압축 비디오 영역으로부터 쉽게 추출될 수 있는 매크로 블록 영역 상에서 수행되었으며, 실험 결과는 제안된 방법의 높은 성능을 잘 나타내어 주고 있다. A macroblock(MB) in MPEG coded domain can have zero, one, or two motion vectors depending on its frame type and prediction direction (forward-, backward-, or hi-directionally). In this paper, we propose a method that converts these motion vectors on MPEG coded domain as a uniform set, independent of the frame type and the direction of prediction, and directly utilizes these re-analyzed motion vectors for understanding video contents. Also, using this frame-type-independent motion vector, we propose novel methods for detecting and tracking moving objects with frame-based detection accuracy on the compressed domain. These algorithms are performed directly from the MPEG bitstreams after VLC decoding with little time consumption. Experimental results show validity and outstanding performance of our methods.
