        무용전공 중국유학생의 대학생활 적응 실태조사

        본 연구는 무용전공 중국 유학생을 대상으로 대학생활적응 실태를 알아봄으로서 보다 효과적인 무용전공 중국 인 유학생을 관리할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 국내 무용과 재학 중인의 중국 유학생 300명을 대상으로 설문하였으며, 대학생활적응의 하위요인은 학과 생활에서 의 언어적응, 생활적응, 문화적응, 교육만족도의 4가지 요인으로 분류하였다. 분석결과는 언어적응은 학년이 높 아질수록 점수가 높게 나타났으며, 생활적응은 학년이 높을수록, 체류 기간이 1~6개월 집단의 점수가 가장 높 은 것으로 나타났다. 문화적응은 3, 4학년이, 12개월까지 체류한 경우 높은 점수를 보였으면 교육만족도는 1학 년에 비해 2, 3, 4학년의 만족도가 높은 것으로 체류 기간 1년 이내인 경우 교육만족도가 가장 높은 것으로 나 타났다. 본 연구에는 국내 무용전공 중국인 유학생들이 어떻게 학교생활을 영위하는 지에 관해 학과단위의 적응 실태를 알아봄으로, 국내 대학이 학과 차원에서 더욱 효과적인 유학생 유치정책에 방향성을 제공하여 중국 유학 생들의 유학만족도를 높이고, 나아가 국내 외국인 유학생의 관리 방안에 기초자료가 되는 데에 의의를 가진다. The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for finding ways to manage Chinese students who are majoring in dance by studying the adaptation status of college life for Chinese students. For this purpose, we surveyed 300 Chinese students studying in Korean dance. The sub-factors of university life adaptation were classified into four factors: language adaptation, life adaptation, cultural adaptation, and educational satisfaction. The results of the analysis showed that the higher the grade was,the higher the grade was, and the higher the grade was, the higher the score of the 1~6 month group got. In the case of cultural adaptation, if the 3rd and 4th graders stayed up to 12 months, the educational satisfaction was higher in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders compared to the 1st grader. Found to be high. The purpose of this study is to find out the adaptation status of departments about how Chinese international students in Korean dance majors conduct their school life. Furthermore, it is meaningful to be the basic data for the management plan of international students in Korea.

        Terahertz Spectral Characteristics of Electrolyte Solutions under Different Magnetic Fields

        Microfluidic chips are new devices that can manipulate liquids at the micrometer level, and terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy has good applicability in biochemical detection. The combination of these two technologies can shorten the distance between sample and THz wave, reduce THz wave absorption by water, and more effectively analyze the kinetics of biochemical reactions in aqueous solutions. This study investigates the effects of different external magnetic field intensities on the THz transmission characteristics of deionized water, CuSO 4 , CuCl 2 , (CH 3 COO) 2 Cu, Na 2 SO 4 , NaCl, and CH 3 COONa; the THz spectral intensity of the sample solutions decrease with increasing intensity of the applied magnetic field. Analysis shows that the magnetic field leads to a change in the dipole moment of water molecules in water and electrolyte solutions, which enhances not only the hydrogen-bond networking ability of water but also the hydration around ions in electrolyte solutions, increasing the number of hydrogen bonds. Increasing the intensity of this magnetic field further promotes the hydrogen-bond association between water molecules, weakening the THz transmission intensity of the solution.

        Influence of Particle Size Distribution of Magnetic Fluid on the Resistance Torque of Magnetic Fluid Seal

        Magnetic fluid seal is widely used in military and aerospace industry owing to its zero leakage property, long life and reliability. The resistance torque is often required to be small and stay within allowable scope with the standing time expanding and the working environment changing. In this paper, we discussed the influence of the particle size distribution of magnetic fluid on the resistance torque of magnetic fluid seal. Samples of magnetic fluid of different particle size distribution were processed by applying a magnetic field gradient. Afterwards, the rheological property of different samples was analyzed using rheometer. Besides, the resistance torque of magnetic fluid seal on different occasions was measured. We explained these results from the point of formation and destruction of magnetic aggregations based on the theory of magnetoviscous effect, thus provided feasible ways to improve the performance of magnetic fluid seal.

        Case study of random vibration analysis of train-bridge systems subjected to wind loads

        In order to reveal the independent relationship between track irregularity and wind loads, the stochastic characteristics of train-bridge coupling systems subjected to wind loads were investigated by the multi-sample calculation. The vehicle was selected as 23 degrees of freedom dynamical model, and the bridge was described by three-dimensional finite element model. It was assumed that the wind loads were random processes with strong spatial correlation, while the track irregularities were stationary random ones. As a case study, a high-speed train running on a cable-stayed bridge subjected to wind loads was studied. The effect of rail irregularities was deemed to be independent of the effect of wind excitations on the coupling system in the same wind circumstance for the same project, leading to the conclusion that the effect of wind loads and moving vehicle could be calculated separately. The variance results of the stochastic responses of vehicle-bridge coupling system under the action of wind loads and rail irregularities together were equivalent to the sum of the variance of the responses induced by each excitation. Therefore, when one of the input excitations is different, only the effect of changed loads needs to be assessed. Moreover, the new calculated results were combined with the effect of unchanged loads to present the stochastic response of coupling system subjected to the different excitations, reducing the cost of computations. The stochastic characteristics, the CFD (cumulative distribution function) of the coupling system with different wind velocities, vehicle speed, and vehicle marshalling were studied likewise.

        Anti-infective nitazoxanide disrupts transcription of ribosome biogenesis-related genes in yeast

        Background Nitazoxanide is a broad-spectrum, anti-parasitic, anti-protozoal, anti-viral drug, whose mechanisms of action have remained elusive. Objective In this study, we aimed to provide insight into the mechanisms of action of nitazoxanide and the related eukaryotic host responses by characterizing transcriptome profiles of Saccharomyces cerevisiae exposed to nitazoxanide. Methods RNA-Seq was used to investigate the transcriptome profiles of three strains of S. cerevisiae with dsRNA virus-like elements, including a strain that hosts M28 encoding the toxic protein K28. From the strain with M28, an additional substrain was prepared by excluding M28 using a nitazoxanide treatment. Results Our transcriptome analysis revealed the effects of nitazoxanide on ribosome biogenesis. Many genes related to the UTP A, UTP B, Mpp10-Imp3-Imp4, and Box C/D snoRNP complexes were differentially regulated by nitazoxanide exposure in all of the four tested strains/sub-strains. Examples of the differentially regulated genes included UTP14, UTP4, NOP4, UTP21, UTP6, and IMP3. The comparison between the M28-laden and non-M28-laden sub-strains showed that the mitotic cell cycle was more significantly affected by nitazoxanide exposure in the non-M28-laden sub-strain. Conclusions Overall, our study reveals that nitazoxanide disrupts regulation of ribosome biogenesis-related genes in yeast.

        Aerodynamic performance of high-lift blades in low-pressure turbines with periodic upstream wakes

        The aerodynamic performance of high-lift blades was experimentally investigated at different Reynolds numbers ranging from 0.8×10 5 to 1.8×10 5 . Upstream wakes, inherent in real aero-engines, were generated by moving bars operating at reduced frequencies (Fr) of 0.3 and 0.6. Measurements were carried out by pneumatic probes and static pressure taps on the blade surfaces. The results show that high-lift blades experience a significant rise in profile loss under steady conditions, which is mitigated by upstream wakes due to the suppressed separation bubble. The loading distributions relate the non-dimensional flow deceleration rate (DR) to the profile loss. It is found that the variation pattern depends on the flow state, which is classified into parabolic increase, linear increase, and concave parabolic variation. A single hot-wire probe was employed to measure the boundary layer at the trailing edge. The results are used to examine the modified loss model based on Denton’s method.

        Understanding the Increasing Hot Extremes over the Northern Extratropics Using Community Atmosphere Model

        The past four decades have seen an increase of terrestrial hot extremes during summer in the northern extratropics, accompanied by the Northern Hemisphere (NH) sea surface temperature (SST) warming (mainly over 10°–70°N, 0°–360°) and CO2 concentration rising. This study aims to understand possible causes for the increasing hot extremes, which are defined on a daily basis. We conduct a series of numerical experiments using the Community Atmosphere Model version 5 model for two periods, 1979–1995 and 2002–2018. The experiment by changing the CO2 concentration only with the climatological SST shows less increase of hot extremes days than that observed, whereas that by changing the NH SST (over 10°–70°N, 0°–360°) with constant CO2 concentration strengthens the hot extremes change over mid-latitudes. The experiment with both SST and CO2 concentration changes shows hot extremes change closer to the observation compared to the single-change experiments, as well as more similar simulations of atmospheric circulations and feedbacks from cloud and radiative processes. Also discussed are roles of natural variability (e.g., Pacific Decadal Oscillation and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation) and other factors (e.g., Arctic sea ice and tropical SST).

        Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in cats in mainland China 2016–2020: a meta-analysis

        Background: Toxoplasma gondii can infect humans and most animals and has a very high infection rate worldwide, including in China. The number of people infected with T. gondii in China increases with the number of cats. Objectives: We investigated the seropositive rate of T. gondii in cats over the last five years and analyzed the risk factors via meta-analysis. Methods: We retrieved 20 studies, with a total of 5,158 cats, published between 2016 and 2020, used the DerSimonian-Laird model and calculated seroprevalence estimates with the variance stabilizing double arcsine transformation. Results: The overall seroprevalence rate after sinusoidal conversion was 19.9% (95% confidence interval [CI], 15.9–23.9; 966/5,158), lower than the domestic report from 1995 to 2015 (24.5%, 95% CI, 20.1–29.0). There was substantial heterogeneity among studies (χ2 = 262.32; p < 0.001; I2 = 64.6%). Regression analysis of possible heterogeneous causes and subgroup analysis showed that age and whether cats were stray or not have a significant effect on the seropositive rate. Conclusions: Articles published in recent five years suggest that the seroprevalence estimates of Toxoplasma gondii in cats has decreased. Cats, as the final host of T. gondii, are an important cause of the spread of the parasite, and this is an important concern for public health.
