Platelet-Derived Growth Factor가 백서두개관 세포군의 증식 및 교원합성에 미치는 영향
김기수,고성희,백정화,민병무,김관식,정동균 대한구강생물학회 1991 International Journal of Oral Biology Vol.15 No.2
To study the effect of platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) on the replication and collagen synthesis of rat calvarial cells, five bone cell populations(I-V) were prepared from fetal rat calvaria by sequential enzyme digestion. After primary culture for 6-7 days, each bone cell population was collected and then population Ⅰ and Ⅱ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ were pooled together. And the cells were resuspended at 6-8×10^4 cells/㎝^2 and cultured for 2-3 days. The medium was changed to serum-free medium prior to addition of growth factor. The effect of PDGF on the cell proliferation was measured by the incorporation of [^3H]thymidine into DNA. Protein synthesis was determined by measurement of [^3H]proline incorporation into collagenase-digestible protein(CDP) and noncollagenous protein(NCP) according to the method of Peterkofsky and Die-gelmann(1971). The observed results were as follows. 1. PDGF at 10 ng/㎖ significantly increased the [^3H]thymidine incorporation into DNA in all bone cell populations. 2. PDGF at 30 ng/㎖ significantly increased the synthesis of NCP in population Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅳ, Ⅴ. 3. PDGF had no effect on the synthesis of CDP but percent collagen synthesis was decreased significantly in population Ⅳ, Ⅴ. Taken together, the increase of protein synthesis by PDGF in rat calvarial cells was due to the incraese of NCP synthesis.

Because anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) therapy has become increasingly popular in many Asian countries, the risk of developing active tuberculosis (TB) among anti-TNF users may raise serious health problems in this region. Thus, the Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis and the Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology have developed a set of consensus statements about risk assessment, detection and prevention of latent TB infection, and management of active TB infection in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) receiving anti-TNF treatment. Twenty-three consensus statements were initially drafted and then discussed by the committee members. The quality of evidence and the strength of recommendations were assessed by using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation methodology. Web- based consensus voting was performed by 211 IBD specialists from 9 Asian countries concerning each statement. A consensus statement was accepted if at least 75% of the participants agreed. Part 1 of the statements comprised 2 parts: risk of TB infection Recommenda-during anti-TNF therapy, and screening for TB infection prior to commencing anti-TNF therapy. These consensus statements will help clinicians optimize patient outcomes by reducing the morbidity and mortality related to TB infections in patients with IBD receiving anti-TNF treatment. Equivariant vector bundle structures on real line bundles
Shu, Dong-Youp Korean Mathematical Society 1996 대한수학회논문집 Vol.11 No.1
Let G be a topological group and X a G space. For a given nonequivariant vector bundle over X there does not always exist a G equivariant vector bundle structure. In this paper we find some sufficient conditions for nonequivariant real line bundles to have G equivariant vector bundle structures.
THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON FLOW CHARACTERISTICS OF A DIAPHRAGM PUMP FOR UREA-SCR SYSTEMS
Shu Dong Yang,You Cheng Shi,Xi Wei Pan,Yin Shui Liu 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.4
Urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is the primary technology used to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOx) of diesel engine exhaust. To meet the requirements of an SCR system, a novel type of miniature diaphragm pump was designed. Based on the theory of large deflection of annular plates, the equilibrium equations of a diaphragm with a rigid inclusion were established, and the equations were solved by the nondimensional method and the finite difference method. Theoretical and approximated flow model for this pump were proposed. A theoretical relationship between back pressure, rigid inclusion size and volumetric efficiencies were calculated. To verify the validity of theoretical model, a prototype pump was fabricated and tested. Experimental results demonstrated that the flow is proportional to the pump speed. The deviation between theoretical, approximated flow and experimental flow was less than 4 % and 9.4 %, respectively. The difference between theoretical and experimental volumetric efficiency was varied from 2.7 % to 6.1 % when back pressure changed from 0 to 0.9 MPa. The volumetric efficiency was growing with the increasing of the rigid inclusion size. The pressures in the working chamber showed almost the same overall trends between the theoretical results and experimental values. The experimental results show that the proposed theoretical model is effective.

Radixin, encoded by a gene on chromosome 11, plays important roles in cell motility, invasion and tumor progression. However, its function in pancreatic cancer remains elusive. In this study, radixin gene expression was suppressed with a lentivirus-mediated short-hairpin RNA (shRNA) method. We found that radixin shRNA caused down-regulation of radixin in PANC-1 cells, associated with inhibition of pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, survival, adhesion and invasive potential in vitro. When radixin-silenced cells were implanted in nude mice, tumor growth and microvessel density were significantly inhibited as compared to blank control cells or nonsense shRNA control cells. Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) and E-cadherin were up-regulated in radixin-silenced PANC-1 cells. Our results suggest that radixin might play a critical role in pancreatic cancer progression, possibly through invvolvement of down-regulation of TSP-1 and E-cadherin expression.

This study performs a meta-analysis of published studies to determine the effectiveness of exercise intervention on depression in the elderly. The purpose is to provide advice on exercise intervention measures suitable for fighting depression to the elderly based on studies selected according to screening criteria. According to the PICOS format, research published in the Korean Journal Citation Index (KCI), Academic Research Information Service (RISS), Nuri Media (DBpia), and Korean Academic Information (KISS) will be searched from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022. Through selection, 18 journals and papers from 949 documents were selected and analyzed. For meta-analysis, the results were calculated using the Stata 17.0 program. Based on the results of scales such as KGDS (Korean Form of Geriatric Depression Scale) and GDSSF-K (Geratic Depression Scale Short Korean Version), the overall effect of exercise on depression in the elderly was 1.14, and participation in exercise in the elderly had a certain effect on depression. Taken together, exercise intervention had a positive effect on the improvement of depression in the elderly. Therefore, when choosing an exercise plan, the elderly are suitable for selecting and formulating exercise plans and exercise methods in the form of medium intensity, 60 minutes each time, twice a week, and more than 12 weeks.
