본 연구는 습지보전법 제정이후 연안습지의 가치에 대해 지역 주민들이 어떻게 인식하고 있는 지를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 따라서 보호지역 지정 이후 지역 주민들이 습지보호지역에 대해 어떻게 인식하는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 습지보호지역 주민을 중심으로 SPSS 통계분석을 이용하여 빈도분석과 교차분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과 지역민들은 습지보호지역의 지정이 매우 유의미하며, ‘지역 활성화 및 소득 향상’ 등을 긍정적 효과로 보았다. 반면에 ‘어업활동 제약’ 등 일상생활에서는 대체적으로 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있다고 판단하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 습지보호지역의 확대를 원하는 것으로 보아 전반적으로 보호지역 지정이 긍정적으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 주민의 자발적인 습지의 보전과 현명한 이용을 위해서 해당 지역 주민을 대상으로 체계적인 주민역량강화교육 등이 필요함을 제언한다. This study aims to explore how local residents perceive the value of coastal wetlands since the enactment of the Wetland Conservation Act. Therefore, we have discussed how local residents perceive wetland conservation areas after the designation of protected areas. The subjects of this study were frequency analysis and crossover analysis using SPSS statistical analysis. As a result of this study, local people designated wetland conservation area as very meaningful, and seeing ‘regional activation and income increase’ positively. On the other hand, it was judged that there was a negative impact on daily life such as ‘fishery activity restriction.’ Nonetheless, the desire to expand the wetland protection area indicates that the overall designation of the protected area has a positive effect. Therefore, it is suggested that systematic resident capacity building education is necessary for the residents of the area in order to preserve the welfare of the residents and wise use.
다문화 배경 학생을 위한 학습 도구어 선정 및 학습 어플리케이션 개발

본 연구는 중학교 입학 전 다문화 배경 학생을 위한 학습 도구어 교육의 필요성을 밝히고 중학교 교과 학습에 필요한 학습 도구어를 선정하여 선정된 어휘 목록을 활용한 자기 주도적 학습 방안을 모색하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 실제적인 학습 도구어 목록을 마련할 필요가 있다고 판단하여 중학교 1학년 국어, 수학, 사회, 과학 교과서의 지문에 있는 학습 관련 어휘들을 조사하였고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 주요 학습 도구어를 선정하였다. 또한 선정된 학습 도구어를 활용하여 자기 주도적인 학습이 가능한 프로토타입형태의 학습 도구어 학습 어플리케이션을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 학습 어플리케이션을 활용하여 학습 도구어를 학습할 경우 다문화 배경 학생의 중학교 교과 학습 적응에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. This study indicates there is a need for delivering key academic vocabulary to students with multi-cultural backgrounds before they enter middle school and thus select academic vocabularies necessary for satisfactory middle school education and self-directed learning methods using a more focused selected academic vocabulary list. To this end, we first examine the vocabularies appearing in the main Korean language, math, social studies and science textbooks used in the first year of middle school and compile the most practical academic vocabulary list. Then we offer a selection method for the main academic vocabulary from these compiled vocabularies. We also propose a self-directed vocabulary learning model for using these selected academic vocabularies and an academic vocabulary learning application as a prototype. As a result, students with multi-cultural backgrounds will be able to adapt to middle school education more quickly when they learn the necessary academic vocabularies on their own using the academic vocabulary learning application.
외국인 대학원생의 학술적 글쓰기에 나타난 바꿔 쓰기 양상 연구 -한국인 대학원생과의 비교를 중심으로-

This study suggests ways for paraphrasing education to foreign graduate students by comparing the patterns between Korean graduate students and foreign graduate students on paraphrasing in academic writing. To this end, this study conducted an experiment and interview to analyze paraphrasing patterns in the academic writing of Korean and foreign graduate students. The experiment results showed that Korean and foreign graduate students used paraphrasing in words, sentences, and paragraphs. However, foreign graduate students had a different pattern of changing a word than Korean graduate students and used awkward or incorrect sentences when they used combinations of paraphrasing types. Meanwhile, the interview results showed that foreign graduate students had difficulty using paraphrasing in academic writing, and the paraphrasing process was more challenging to write than to read. Moreover, they focused on using appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and expressions rather than the overall structure or content. Consequently, this study proposed helpful education directions for enhancing the paraphrasing skills in academic writing of foreign graduate students. (Korea University)
의사결정나무를 활용한 실시간 온라인 한국어 강의에서의 학습자 만족도 분석 -상호작용 요인을 중심으로-

This study identified factors of interaction influencing the satisfaction of 74 foreign learners with real-time online Korean lectures using a survey design. The study developed two types of prediction models for satisfaction with learning effects and satisfaction with lectures using a decision tree algorithm, which produced the best accuracies of 75.0% and 87.5%, respectively. Four common influential factors affected the two types of prediction models: gathering feedback on assessments, providing appropriate time, identifying the learner’s learning status, and providing interesting materials. In addition, this study developed four rules for satisfaction with learning effects and six rules for satisfaction with lectures from the prediction models. Using the derived rules, this study proposed helpful directions for enhancing foreign learners’ satisfaction in real-time online Korean language lectures. <P>Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are immature cells that do not differentiate into mature myeloid cells. Two major populations of PMN-MDSCs (Ly6G(high)Ly6C(low)Gr1(high)CD11b(+)) andMO-MDSCs (Ly6G(-)Ly6C(high)Gr-1(int)CD11b(+)) have an immune suppressive function. Interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) has a role in the negative regulation of TLR signaling and is associated with lymphoid cell development. However, the roles of IRF4 in myeloid cell differentiation are unclear. In this study, we found that IRF4 expression was remarkably suppressed during the development of MDSCs in the tumor microenvironment. Both the mRNA and protein levels of IRF4 in MDSCs were gradually reduced, depending on the development of tumors in the 4T1 model. siRNA-mediated knockdown of IRF4 in bone marrow cells promoted the differentiation of PMN-MDSCs. Similarly, IRF4 inhibition in bone marrow cells using simvastatin, which has been known to inhibit IRF4 expression, increased PMN-MDSC numbers. In contrast, IRF4 overexpression in bone marrow cells inhibited the total numbers of MDSCs, especially PMN-MDSCs. Notably, treatment with IL-4, an upstream regulator of IRF4, induced IRF4 expression in the bone marrow cells, and consequently, IL-4-induced IRF4 expression resulted in a decrease in PMN-MDSC numbers. Finally, we confirmed that IRF4 expression in MDSCs can modulate their activity to inhibit T cell proliferation through IL-10 production and ROS generation, and myeloid-specific deletion of IRF4 leads to the increase of MDSC differentiation. Our present findings indicate that IRF4 reduction induced by tumor formation can increase the number of MDSCs, and increases in the IRF4 expression in MDSCs may infringe on the immune-suppressive function of MDSCs.</P>
상위인지 순환 교수법 기반의 외국인 학부생 대상 한국어 듣기 수업 설계

This study aims to design a Korean listening-comprehension class for foreign undergraduate students based on a metacognitive pedagogical cycle to facilitate successful lecture comprehension. To this end, we designed a Korean listening-comprehension class using this metacognitive pedagogical cycle. We observed the listening process of the experimental participants and compared their metacognitive ability before and after class. As a result, we found that the foreign undergraduate students’ metacognitive abilities improved overall through the class. Then we confirmed the following implications through interviews with the participants. First, when selecting listening topics and contents, the characteristics of the lecture discourse and learner factors should be considered. Second, additional activities should be prepared at the stage before listening to regenerate background knowledge. Third, three listening activity goals should be explicitly presented so that learners can clearly understand the goals of each listening process. Finally, language learning about vocabulary and grammar must be done in the listening stage. (Korea University)
