Objective Enhancing subjective well-being is an effective way to improve mental health. This study aimed to validate a virtual realitybased interactive feedback program as an intervention tool for promoting subjective well-being. Methods Thirty-six males participated in this program, consisting of three tasks constructed based on the theories of positive psychology: ‘Experience-based problem recognition task’, ‘Future self-based success story expression task’, and ‘Strength expression task’. Participants rated visual analog scores associated with each of the tasks’ contents. The concurrent validity of task scores was evaluated by correlations with the psychological scale scores. Results The total task score was positively correlated with scores of Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) emotional wellbeing and psychological well-being, Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale, Dispositional Hope Scale agency dimension and pathways dimension, and Life Orientation Test Revised, but not with MHC-SF social well-being scores. After controlling for the effects of the other task scores, the task scores had linear relationships with certain psychological assessments. Conclusion Since the task scores are closely related to indicators of well-being, self-esteem, hope, and optimism, the program contents are well associated with certain aspects of subjective well-being and thus may be available for training that improves subjective well-being through interactive feedback.

In this paper, we represent a nonlinear identification of electronic brake pedal behavior in the brake-by-wire (BBW) system based on hybrid group method of data handling (GMDH) and genetic algorithm (GA). A GMDH is a kind of multi-layer network with a structure that is determined through training and which can express nonlinear dynamics as a mathematical model. The GA is used in the GMDH, enabling each neuron to search for its optimal set of connections with the preceding layer. The results obtained with this hybrid approach were compared with different nonlinear system identification methods. The experimental results showed that the hybrid approach performs better than the other methods in terms of root mean square error (RMSE) and correlation coefficients. The hybrid GMDH/GA approach was effective for modeling and predicting the brake pedal system under random braking conditions.

This study was aimed to investigate the Cu bioavailability, growth response, digestibility of nutrients, and blood metabolites of broiler chicks fed CuSO4 in nano or common forms. A total of 720 broiler chickens were distributed between eight treatments according to a completely randomized design. There were 8 treatments and 6 replicates in each treatment with 15 birds/replicate. The treatments were divided into common copper sulfate at the doses of 16 ppm, 40 ppm, 80 ppm, and 120 ppm (INO) and hot-melt extruded copper sulfate at the doses of 16 ppm, 40 ppm, 80 ppm, and 120 ppm (HME-Cu). The experiment was operated for 35 days in 2 phases (phase 1, d 0 to 14; and phase 2, d 15 to 35). No significant differences were shown in growth performance, feed intake, FCR, and nutrient digestibility among the treatments. The concentration of Cu in the serum was increased in the HME-Cu broilers compared with the INO broilers at phase 2. A linear increase was observed in the concentration of Cu in the liver in broilers fed INO diets, however, no significant differences were observed by the supplementation of HME-Cu levels. The linear increase was detected in the content of Cu in excreta in the INO and HME-Cu treatments by increasing the dietary Cu content. The HME-Cu treatments showed a lower Cu concentration in the excreta compared with the INO treatments. The higher bioavailability of Cu in HME form can decrease the recommended dose of Cu in broiler diets.
The role of popular religion in the Red Spears Movement in modern China, 1925-1942
( Junhyung Chae ) 경남대학교 인문과학연구소 2020 人文論叢 Vol.51 No.-
This paper examines how did the nationalists and the communist revolutionaries tried to transform local Chinese peasants into modern Chinese nation with the case of the Red Spears, a local self-defensive and religious society of Republican period. It demonstrates how did the various political powers in Chinese territory, including Japanese Imperial forces during the Sino-Japanese war, competing with each other to appeal to Chinese common population. By doing so, the paper explores several issues: how did Chinese peasants develop their local identities into national ones; what was the role of religious doctrines and secular features in the transformation. The paper argues that, regardless of religious beliefs, the secular regulations strongly influenced by Confucian teachings of the Red Spears also should be regarded as an important factor in the lives of the Red Spear Society’s members. It also deserves to note that local commoners’ engagement with the Red Spears resulted not just from their religious transformation, but also from their practical needs for using the Society’s doctrines and organization to resist government’s excessive extraction. It also demonstrates that there were little difference between the Chinese communists’ strategic approach to the Red Spears and that of other political powers, especially Japanese imperial forces, in mobilizing the peasant forces of the Red Spear Society. During the Sino-Japanese War. They both acknowledged the important role of hybrid religious belief of the Red Spears as a core factor in sustaining their solidarity. In utilizing the forces of the Red Spear Society, Japanese imperialist and Chinese communist policy makers tried to avoid provoking the Society with attacking their “superstitious” beliefs.

False data injection attacks have recently been introduced as one of important issues related to cyber-attacks on electric power grids. These attacks aim to compromise the readings of multiple power meters in order to mislead the operation and control centers. Recent studies have shown that if a malicious attacker has complete knowledge of the power grid topology and branch admittances, s/he can adjust the false data injection attack such that the attack remains undetected and successfully passes the bad data detection tests that are used in power system state estimation. In this paper, we investigate that a practical false data injection attack is essentially a cyber-attack with uncertain information due to the attackers lack of knowledge with respect to the power grid parameters because the attacker has limited physical access to electric facilities and limited resources to compromise meters. We mathematically formulated a method of identifying the most vulnerable locations to false data injection attack. Furthermore, we suggest minimum topology changes or phasor measurement units (PMUs) installation in the given power grids for mitigating such attacks and indicate a new security metrics that can compare different power grid topologies. The proposed metrics for performance is verified in standard IEEE 30-bus system. We show that the robustness of grids can be improved dramatically with minimum topology changes and low cost.

Objective: Implantation of drug-eluting stents (DES) for extra- and intracranial atherosclerotic stenoses is an emerging topic. It has the potential benefit of preventing recurrent stroke with a reduced rate of in-stent restenosis (ISR). Methods: Patients who underwent extra- or intracranial stenting using DES in a single institution were retrospectively reviewed with long-term angiographic and clinical follow-up data. Results: Twenty-one patients, 9 (42.9%) with extracranial lesions and 12 (57.1%) with intracranial lesions, were included. The most common symptom was cerebral infarction (71.4%), followed by vertebrobasilar insufficiency (19.1%) and transient ischemic attack (9.5%). All patients achieved technical success, with the mean degree of stenosis of 85.9±6.3% before the procedure and 19.5±5.9% after the procedure. All patients showed clinical improvement and no symptomatic recurrence was reported during the mean clinical follow-up period of 45.5±8.9 months. The significant ISR was observed in one patient (4.8%) during the mean radiological follow-up period of 42.8±10.0 months. Conclusions: Implantation of drug-eluting stents for symptomatic extra- and intracranial atherosclerotic stenoses is feasible and has the potential benefit of reducing the rate of ISR.
