        Elementary science textbooks are the major instructional materials which contain sceientific objectives to be acquired by students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development system, to evaluate the inquiry activity in current elementary science testbooks, and to make suggestions for the improvement of them. The questionnaires were administered to 116 subjects that participated in development of the 5th elementary science textbooks, and 86 of the subjects responded. Based on the data gathered and analyzed in this study, the major findings are as follows. First, regarding the analysis and evaluation of elementary science textbooks. 1. The instructional objectives in elementary science textbooks are analyzed. The proportions of comprehension objectives is 38%, scientific inquiry process objectives 21%, experimental skills objectives 7%, scientific attitudes and interests objectives 4%. 2. The science concepts in elementary science textbooks of the 3rd grade required the preconcrete operational level(82%) and of the 6rd grade required the postconcrete operational level (73%) by J. Piaget. 3. The inquiry activities in elementary science textbooks are emphasizing gathering and organizing results and evaluation, and hypothesizing and designing an experiment. Inquiry index of the elementary science textbooks is 76. This is significantly higher than 35∼50 of America and U.K. 4. The number of questions per class hour is mostly three, and most of them require the students to explain phenomena in nature or in experiment Second, regarding the development system of elementary science textbooks. 1. The budget for and the period of the development of elementary science textbook should be expanded. 2. For the improvement of elementary science textbooks, more abundant resources and time should be used for the basic study and the field trial of textbooks. 3. The elementary science textbook must include the affective objectives as well as the scientific knowledges and scientific inquiry skills. 4. It is not desirable to assign equal number of pages to the content of physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. 5. Closer cooperation system is needed among the ministry of education, development research center and the field trial schools.

        한국적 자치경찰제의 도입방안에 관한 연구

        16대 대선에서 승리한 노무현 당선자는 자치경찰제의 도입과 경찰의 독자적인 수사권 부여를 대선공약으로 제시하였다. 이에 따라 또다시 자치경찰제와 경찰의 수사권 독립에 관한 논란이 일고 있다. 본 논문에서는 자치경찰제 도입의 논의와 구상이 비교적 구체화되었던 1980년대 이후 자치경찰제 도입의 논의와 구상들을 검토해 본다. 특히 1999년 상반기에 경찰법개정법률안이 마련되었음에도 불구하고 하반기부터 논의가 줄어들고, 2000년 이후 자치경찰제 논의 자체가 중단된 원인을 고찰해 보는 바, 그 원인을 자치경찰제 도입과 관련해서 이해관계를 가지는 각 국가기관들간의 갈등이라는 관점에서 분석해 본다. 그리고 향후 소위, '참여정부'에서 자치경찰제 도입에 관한 논의가 있을 것임을 감안하여, 우리나라에서 자치경찰제를 도입하는 경우, 어떤 방안이 우리나라의 실정에 맞는 한국적 자치경찰제가 될 것인가, 또한 어떤 방안이 지역주민을 위한 자치경찰제가 될 것인가를 중심으로 그 도입방안을 모색해 본다. 즉 조직, 관리, 인사, 경찰권의 배분이라는 4가지 측면에서 그 도입방안을 제시하고자 한다. President Roh Moo-hyun, succeeding the election for President of sixth, presented introduction of The Local Police System(LPS) and grant towards independent investigation of police as the election pledge. This is leading to the controversies which are The Local Police System and independent investigation of police anew. In study, investigate having the controversies and ideas on introduction of the Local Police System since the 1980s, when it started to draw in outlines of the controversies and the ideas on introduction of the LPS. Particularly, the first half of 1999, although Police Law was made ready for, from the second half of it, the controversies little by little faded out and after 2000, after investigating suspended factors that LPS itself doesn't go further, analyze the factors, considering complications which have interests among national organizations with introduction of LPS. In case of introducing LPS in what is call "the Participatory Government" try to find introduction plans, laying stress on what kinds of plan suit korean LPS? or what kinds of plan are LPS for local residents? Present introduction plans, considering 4 dimensions organization, management, personnel, and division of police power.

      • 중년여성의 체형과 신체 만족도에 따른 테일러드 재킷의 선호도 : 실루엣을 중심으로 Focused on silhouette

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type and the degree of satisfaction with the body of middle-aged women. The subjects were 323 middle-aged women ranging from 35 to 50 years old. We measured their bodies and asked them to report to the questionnaire. The results are as follows. There was a significant difference in the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type of middle-aged women. The women of the type 1 preferred X silhouette and the women of the type 2, A silhouette. The women of the type 3 preferred H silhouette, and the women of the type 4, H silhouette. There was a meaningful difference in the preference of tailored jacket according to the degree of satisfaction with their bodies. As satisfied with the girth of the body, weight, and figure they recognized X silhouette attractive, graceful, active, and soft.

        우리나라 경찰공무원의 보직공모 제도에 관한 연구

        참여정부가 출범하면서 경찰처에서는 2003년 3월부터 본청과 각 지방경찰청 단위로 보직공모제를 실시하였다. 보직공무제는 보직관리를 행함에 있어 소속 경찰기관내에서 공개모집을 통하여, 인사행정의 투명성과 공정성을 높이고, 우수 경찰공무원의 활용을 극대화하고자 실시한 것이다. 그러나 경찰청이 처음으로 실시한 인사제도인 만큼 많은 문제점이 노정되었고, 이 제도의 정착을 위해서는 이번 실시를 계기로 실태에 대한 분석이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 보직공모제도가 현실적으로 어떠한 의미가 있으며, 공모, 자격심사, 최종선발이라는 3가지 구성요소를 기초로 하여 실제로 어떻게 이루어지는가 고찰한다. 또한 2003년 3월부터 경찰청 및 각 지방경찰청 단위로 실시한 보직공모제도의 실시현황과 실태를 검토·분석해 보고, 보직공모제가 가진 문제점과 개선방안을 제시해 본다.

        주정 중독 흰쥐에서 총담관 결찰이 혈청 및 간의 α-D-및 β-D-Glucosidase 활성에 미치는 영향

        이 연구는 간담도 질환시 음주의 해로움에 대한 생화학적 배경의 일단을 밝히고자 시행한 실험으로서 급성 및 만성 주정 중독을 시킨 흰쥐에게 총담관결찰로 담즙울체를 야기시켜 혈청과 간의 α-D-glucosidase와 β-D-glucosidase의 활성도를 측정한 것이다. 쥐간의 lysosomal α-D-glucosidase 활성도는 총담관만 결찰한 군보다 만성 주정 중독 후 총담관을 결찰한 군이 총담관 결찰 후 7일부터 14일까지 덜 현저한 증가를 나타내었다. 총담관을 결찰한 군과 만성 주정 중독 후 총담관을 결찰한 군에서 간의 lysosomal acid β-D-glucosidase 및 cytosolic broad specificity β-D-glucosidase 활성도를 비교했을 때는 양군간에 별 차이가 없었다. 총담관을 결찰하고 14일 경과한 군과 총담관 결찰 14일 후 급성 주정 중독을 시킨 군에서 간의 lysosomal α-D-glucosidase, lysosomal acid β-D-glucosidase 및 cytosolic broad specificity β-D-glucosidase의 활성도를 비교했을 때는 양군간에 별 차이가 없었다. 쥐 혈청의 lysosomal α-D-glucosidase와 broad specificity β-D-glucosidase 활성도를 총담관을 결찰한 군과 만성 주정 중독 후 총담관을 결찰한 군을 비교했을 때는 만성 주정 중독 후 총담관을 결찰한 군이 총담관만 결찰한 군보다 더 현저한 증가를 나타내었다. 그러나 총담관을 결찰하고 14일 경과한 군과 총담관 결찰 후 급성 주정 중독을 시킨 군에서 혈청의 이들 효소의 활성도를 비교했을 때는 broad specificity β-D-glucosidase만 총담관 결찰 후 14일 경과한 군보다 총담관결찰 14일 후 급성 주정 중독을 시킨 군이 그 활성도가 더 높았다. 이들 성적 중에서 혈청의 lysosomal α-D-glucosidase와 broad specificity β -D-glucosidase의 활성도가 총담관만 결찰했을 때 보다 만성 주정 중독 후 총담관을 결찰했을 때 더 증가되고 아울러 혈청의 broad specificity β-D-glucosidase 활성도가 총담관 결찰 14일 후 급성 주정 중독을 시켰을 때는 총담관만 결찰한 후 14일 경과했을 때보다 그 활성도가 높은 것은 만성 주정 중독 및 급성 주정 중독시 담즙울체가 야기되면 담즙울체만 있을 때보다 간손상이 증폭된다는 것을 나타낸 결과라 생각되며 이성적은 간손상의 증폭으로 간에서 이들 효소의 누출일 증가된 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 성적은 담즙울체로 간손상이 있을 때는 음주를 해서는 안된다는 것을 뒷받침하는 자료라 하겠다. The activities of the liver and serum α-D and β-D-glucosidase were studied for cholestasis induced by common bile duct ligation and chronic ethanol intoxication developed, or cholestasis after acute ethanol intoxication for manifestation of the biochemical background of alcohol intoxication in hepatobiliary disease. The groups that received common bile duct(CBD) ligation after being chronically intoxicated with ethanol showed a marked increase at the 7th and 14th day after the ligation in the liver lysosomal α-D-glucosidase activities. However, the activities showd a lower degree than groups of the CBD lgation. The groups that received CBD ligation after being chronically intoxicated with ethanol showed a slight increase after the ligation in the liver lysosomal acid β-D-glucosidase and cytosolic broad specificity β-D-glucosidase activities, and the same was seen in the groups of the CBD ligation. At the 1.5th and 24th hours after the acute intoxication with ethanol which was done after 14 days of the CBD ligation, the rats showed a considerable increase in the liver lysosomal α-D-glucosidase, lysosomal acid β-D-glucosidase and cytosolic broad speciticity β-D-glucosidase activities, and the same was seen in the group sacrificed on the 14th day after the CBD ligation. The groups that received CBD ligation after being chronically intoxicated with ethanol showed a marked increase after the ligation in the serum lysosomal α-D-glucosidase and broad specificity β-D-glucosidase activities. However, the activities showed a far higher degree than groups of the CBD ligation. For the groups of acute intoxication with ethanol done after 14 days of the CBD ligation, the serum broad specificity β-D-glucosidase activities increased markadly, but the activities showed a higher degree than the group with the 14th day after the CBD ligation. In summary, especially, when the acute and chronic ethanol intoxication with cholestasis occurred, the serum lysosomal α-D-glucosidase and broad specificity β-D-glucosidase are higher than in cholestasis because of increased liver cell damage, which causes the enzyme to leak into the blood in great quantity. Accordingly, these results will be the data supporting the alcoholic drink is enzymologically harmful in hepatobiliary disease.

        1.25-Gb/s Operation of a Spectrum-Sliced Fabry–PÉrot Laser Diode With Intensity Noise Suppression by a Second Fabry–PÉrot Laser Diode

        <P>We propose a low-cost solution for the intensity noise suppression in the spectrum-sliced Fabry-Perot laser diode (F-P LD), which is achieved by placing an F-P LD at the receiver region. The F-P LD at the receiver region provides the intensity noise suppression of about 10 dB as well as the increase of the received optical power for the spectrum-sliced optical signal. The <I>Q</I>-factor is improved about 5.9 at a data rate of 1.25 Gb/s. As a result, we successfully demonstrate 10-km error-free transmission at 1.25-Gb/s signal with a transmission penalty of less than 0.5 dB. It is also found that the low spectrum-sliced power of -22 dBm achieves the relative intensity noise level of -112.5 dB/Hz, which is almost independent of the operation current.</P>

      • Measurement of Facet Reflectivity Through Reflection Gain in Fabry–PÉrot Laser Diode

        <P>We propose a simple and useful method to measure the facet reflectivity in a Fabry-Perot laser diode (LD). The new measurement method does not require information on LD parameters such as threshold current or optical spectrum. The measurement is based on a simple formula that describes the relationship of facet reflectivity and reflection gain with launching the probe beam of a narrow spectral width.</P>

        1.25-Gb/s Operation at 50-GHz Channel Spacing Based on Intensity Noise Suppression of Wavelength-Locked Fabry–PÉrot Laser Diode

        <P>We demonstrate 1.25-Gb/s operation at 50-GHz channel spacing and 10-km single-mode fiber, which is based on a wavelength-locked Fabry-Perot laser diode (F-P LD) and an intensity noise suppression by a gain saturation of F-P LD in front of the receiver. The wavelength-locked F-P LD employs the spectrum-sliced incoherent light with narrow bandwidth of 35 GHz. The intensity noise of wavelength-locked F-P LD is suppressed about 6 dB by the F-P LD in the front of the receiver. As a result, the bit-error-rate curves exhibit the error-free performances over the detuning conditions to cover a whole mode spacing period of F-P LD.</P>

        屠畜豚의 住肉胞子蟲에 관한 硏究

        The Swine Sarcocystis were investigated the hearts of 524 slaughtered pigs in the area of Kangwon-do. The rate of Sarcocystis infetion and the morphologic states of the cyst bradyzoite were ivestigated. The results obtained were summarized as follow: 1. The infection rate of swine Sarcocystis investigated 384 breedings pigs were found to be 16.7%. 2. The swine Sarcocystis were observed only the pigs over third parturition(19.8%: 64 herds,∴p<0.01). 3. The cyst walls detected out from the cardiac muscle were less than 1㎛ in thickness and the size of bradyzoites were 15.7×3.7㎛ in average. 4. The bananashape and ellipical micropore on the surface in the bradyzoites were observed with the scanning electrone microscope.
