Summary For the betterment of communication ability through listening and speaking English which is one of the most important and difficult problems of teaching English faced in Korea, the Early Teaching of English as FLES has been carried out at primary school in Korea since 1982. Therefore, in this paper, to solve this problem, one of the best ways carrying out the FLES for teaching of English is studied and found out as follows. In the chapter Ⅱ, the aims of FLES for the improvement of listening and speaking ability and teaching with the emphasis on speaking, pronunciation, linking words, phrases, intonation, minimal contrast, 3 kinds of questions, activities for the expression of their ideas in English, and speaking sentences with Cortina Method, are illustrated. For writing and reading ability improvement, it is suggested that letter language should be taught when they reached some stage to be interested in reading and writing by the development of children language competence along with sound language as we have learned our native tongue. In the chapter Ⅲ, among the many theories and methods of teaching other languages, Natural Method with everyday topics which encourage children to learn and with subjects that we all used as children when we learn our native tongue is suggested as an effective way of teaching English for FLES. In the chapter Ⅳ, for the purpose of achieving this aims, it is strongly emphasized that some problems on the actual spot at primary schoolteachers-in-service training, development of text and unification, curriculum for FLES, institution of teachers training, establishment of Department for FLES at teacher college should be solved by the educational policy of Korea. The following are conclusions. a) The first thing to be solved in the problems of teaching English we have faced is to improve the ability of listening and speaking skill for the expression of their ideas based on principle of language acquisition. b) Teaching of Early English as FLES should be carried out effectively at primary school, prior to other teaching method or theoretical study to solve present problems we have faced in teaching English as a living language in Korea. c) The teaching of FLES should be the way of learning native tongue we have through listening and speaking at first, and writing and reading should be followed step by step naturally along to language acquisition. d) Is is an international trend that FLES must be studied at present, and as to teaching other languages, FLES must be helping for the purpose, economically and laboringly. Therefore, the system of carrying out the FLES at primary school should not be disregarded for the policy of Teaching English. e) Especially, our Ministry of Education, established this important system of FLES, should strongly help to study the main subjects: teacher training, text refinement, curriculum revision, problems on the spot, establishment of Department of English for FLES at teachers college for the betterments of teaching English in Korea.

Quadtree, which is a hierarchical data structure, is a very important data structure to represent binary images. Among the ways to store a quadtree, the tree representation is fast in the image processing but it takes large storage. However the linear quadtree representation is efficient to save space but it takes more time in processing images, comparing the tree representation. In this paper, we propose an improved tree representation that is efficient in storage as well as fast in processing time. We experiment our representation on the memory size required by the quadtree representations to measure the memory efficiency of the improved tree representation. Also we apply quadtree representations to the labeling problem of binary images.

This paper design a pole placement PID self-tuning controller utilizing the method of a neural network in the plant parameter estimation. An algorithm based on least square optimization method, and shown here that a Hopfield network can be applied to least square estimation. The Plant constitute second order linear time invariant plant. The results compared obtained those method with conventional PID control method.

저자들은 인슐린 비의존형 당뇨병 환자에서 통증성 구강내 미란 및 전신성 수포성 미란을 동반한 심상성 천포창 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Various skin conditions such as diabetic dermopathy, necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum, bullosis diabeticorum, granuloma annulare occur frequently in diabetes, although common lesions may be associated by chance. Pemphigus vulgaris(PV) is a blistering skin disease seen predominantly in elderly patients. This disorder is characterized by the loss of cohesion between epidermal cells with the resultant formation of intraepidermal blisters. These blisters rupture easily, leaving denuded areases that may crust and enlarge peripherally. In half or more of patients, lesions begin in the mouth: approximately 90% of patients have oromucosal involvement at some time during the course of their disease. But the relationship of this disorder with diabetes is not clear. We experienced a case of pemphigus vulgaris associated with NIDDM in 67 years old woman who was admitted due to painful oral ulcer and control of blood glucose, so we present this case with a review of literatures.
Mechanical properties of the lithium aluminate matrix for MCFC reinforced with metal oxide materials

In this study, the electrolyte matrix was reinforced by metal wire mesh which has a thickness in the range of 0.30–0.33 mm. Both pure LiAlO2 matrix green sheet and the matrix reinforced by metal mesh were prepared by tape casting and hot pressing methods, respectively. Mechanical properties and resistance against cracking of each matrix samples were investigated in 650 ℃ by differential pressure and single cell test. When applying both differential pressure and single cell test in the reinforced matrix, N2cross-over percentage was maintained in 0.1–0.9% constantly. In conclusion, metal wire mesh is a good additive to increase mechanical strength and durability of ceramic composites.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The electrolyte substrate (matrix) of a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) provides both ionic conduction and gas sealing. During the starting-up and operating of MCFC stacks at 923K, the matrix can experience mechanical stresses that can cause cracking. In particular, the pure α-LiAlO<SUB>2</SUB> that is generally used for the MCFC possesses poor mechanical strength. In this study, we employed Al and Li<SUB>2</SUB>CO<SUB>3</SUB> particles as reinforcement materials to increase the mechanical strength of the α-LiAlO<SUB>2</SUB> matrix for its stable long-term operation. The mechanical strength of the matrix increased dramatically after adding Al particles into the pure matrix. Moreover, we operated a single cell for 2000h after adding Li<SUB>2</SUB>CO<SUB>3</SUB> particles into the Al-reinforced matrix to prevent a Li-ion shortage caused by a lithiated Al reaction in the matrix.</P>
