Interaction Forces and Torques between Two Perpendicular Magnetic Tubes

        Jian-Gang Li 한국자기학회 2018 Journal of Magnetics Vol.23 No.1

Cylinders, tubes, cuboids, etc. are basic magnet shapes used in permanent magnet machines. The relative positions between magnets include parallel, perpendicular, or inclined. The force and torque between two cuboid magnets of almost any status and two cylindrical magnets with paralleled axes have been solved. Using the theory of magnetic charges and magnetic Coulomb’s law, this study derives a mathematical model for interaction forces and torques between two perpendicular magnetic tubes in three dimensions. Using this model, the effects of tube relative positions on the interaction forces and torques is analyzed by numerical calculation. The model can also express interaction forces and torques between a magnetic tube and magnetic cylinder or between two magnetic cylinders when the inner radius of one magnetic tube is zero or the radii of both tubes are zero. This study provides the theoretical background for magnetic tube and cylinder applications, such as magnetic drive or control across space in mechanical, medical treatment, chemical industry, food production, aerospace, etc.

Load-Balancing Rendezvous Approach for Mobility-Enabled Adaptive Energy-Efficient Data Collection in WSNs

( Jian Zhang ),( Jian Tang ),( Zhonghui Wang ),( Feng Wang ),( Gang Yu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.3

The tradeoff between energy conservation and traffic balancing is a dilemma problem in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). By analyzing the intrinsic relationship between cluster properties and long distance transmission energy consumption, we characterize three node sets of the cluster as a theoretical foundation to enhance high performance of WSNs, and propose optimal solutions by introducing rendezvous and Mobile Elements (MEs) to optimize energy consumption for prolonging the lifetime of WSNs. First, we exploit an approximate method based on the transmission distance from the different node to an ME to select suboptimal Rendezvous Point (RP) on the trajectory for ME to collect data. Then, we define data trans-mission routing sequence and model rendezvous planning for the cluster. In order to achieve optimization of energy consumption, we specifically apply the economic theory called Di-minishing Marginal Utility Rule (DMUR) and create the utility function with regard to energy to develop an adaptive energy consumption optimization framework to achieve energy effi-ciency for data collection. At last, Rendezvous Transmission Algorithm (RTA) is proposed to better tradeoff between energy conservation and traffic balancing. Furthermore, via collabo-rations among multiple MEs, we design Two-Orbit Back-Propagation Algorithm (TOBPA) which concurrently handles load imbalance phenomenon to improve the efficiency of data collection. The simulation results show that our solutions can improve energy efficiency of the whole network and reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes, which in turn prolong the lifetime of WSNs.

The Preparation and the Effects of K/Na Ratio on the Electrical Properties of 0.95(Na0.96−xKxLi0.04)(Nb0.89Sb0.07Ta0.04)O3-0.05KNbO3 Lead-free Ceramics

        Jian Ma,Dingquan Xiao,Bo Wu,Jia-gang Wu,Jian-guo Zhu 한국물리학회 2014 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.65 No.2

0.95(Na0.96−xKxLi0.04)(Nb0.89Sb0.07Ta0.04)O3-0.05KNbO3 (abbreviated as KxNLNST-KN, x =0.32 − 0.52) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by using the conventional solid-statesintering method, and the intentional addition of a pre-calcined KNbO3 powder was used as asintering aid that might inhibit and compensate for the volatilization of alkali metals during thesintering process. The preparation of the ceramics and the effects of K/Na ratio on the structureand the electrical properties of these ceramics were studied in detail. Compared with the relativelyhigher sintering temperature of Li-, Sb-, and Ta-modified KNN ceramics reported in the literature, the dense ceramic samples were obtained at a reduced temperature of 1060 C, and the ceramicswith x = 0.44 possessed optimal properties: d33 = 298 pC/N, kp = 48%, Pr = 21.9 μC/cm2, andEc = 11.5 kV/cm.

Location Distribution of Fistulas and Surgical Strategies for Spinal Extradural Meningeal Cysts: A Retrospective Analysis of 30 Cases at a Single Center

        Qiang Jian,Gang Song,Zhenlei Liu,Wanru Duan,Jian Guan,Fengzeng Jian,Zan Chen 대한척추신경외과학회 2022 Neurospine Vol.19 No.1

Objective: This study aimed to illustrate the features of fistula location distribution, surgical strategies, and outcomes in spinal epidural meningeal cysts (SEMCs). Methods: The authors searched and reviewed the medical records for cases of SEMCs. Imaging features, operative reports, and media were reviewed to accurately describe the surgical techniques employed. We recorded the level and laterality of the fistula according to the operative report and the media. Consistency analysis was performed on the dominant laterality of the cyst on preoperative axial magnetic resonance imaging and laterality of the fistula in the operative media or report. When cyst and fistula lateralities were the same, they were considered consistent. Finally, the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score was used to obtain patient-reported results at each follow-up. Results: Thirty patients with SEMCs were identified. Fistula repair was performed in all patients. Two patients experienced cyst recurrence after surgery and were repaired during the second surgery. Based on imaging findings, SEMCs mostly occurred in the thoracolumbar junction. Most of the fistulas (87.88%) were at the T12 or L1 levels. In patients with multiple adjacent SEMCs, the fistula may be at one end of the cyst rather than in the middle level of the cyst. A fistula laterality of 72.72% was consistent with cyst laterality. The JOA improvement rate was 61.84% ± 26.63%. Conclusion: Most fistulas were always located at the T12–L1 level as well as the middle level of the cyst, which is always consistent with cyst laterality. In patients with multiple adjacent SEMCs, the fistula may be at one end of the cyst. Cleft closure is key to healing SEMCs.

Naringenin alleviates bone cancer pain in rats via down-regulating spinal P2X7R /PI3K/AKT signaling: involving suppression in spinal inflammation

Song Jian-Gang,Liu Lv 대한독성 유전단백체 학회 2021 Molecular & cellular toxicology Vol.17 No.4

Background Bone cancer pain (BCP) seriously affects patient’s quality of life, which remains a difficult clinical problem, lacking effective drugs for treating it. The inflammation in the spinal cord involves the pathogenesis of BCP. The inhibition of spinal phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) signaling pathway or spinal P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) has previously been shown to alleviate BCP. Naringenin (NAR) has analgesic role and anti-inflammatory property. Objective The present study investigated the protection of NAR against BCP and explored whether the inhibition of spinal inflammation and the blockade of spinal P2X7R/PI3K/AKT signaling involved in this protection. Result NAR significantly alleviated mechanical allodynia (the increase of paw withdrawal threshold in Von Frey test) and thermal hyperalgesia (the increase of paw withdrawal latency in Hargreaves test) in BCP rats. Additionally, NAR inhibited inflammatory cytokines (the reduced levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were measured using Elisa assay) and down-regulated P2X7R/PI3K/AKT signaling (the decreased P2X7R expression, the reduced ratios of phosphorylated (p)-PI3K/PI3K and p-AKT/AKT, which were detected Western blot) in the spinal cord of BCP rats. Conclusion NAR alleviated BCP through inhibiting inflammatory cytokines and down-regulating P2X7R/PI3K/AKT signaling in the spinal cord of rats. These findings revealed that NAR, as an effective agent against BCP, may provide an effective approach in the management of bone cancer patients. Different segregation effects for Sc and Ce in an Al/δ´ interface

Yao Jian-Gang,Jiang Yong,Yin Deng-Feng 한국물리학회 2021 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.78 No.8

The behaviors of Sc and Ce segregation at Al (100)/δ´(100), Al (110)/δ´(110), and Al (111)/δ´(111) interfaces were theoretically predicted to explore the differences in the segregation effects in Al–Li alloys. The results show that Sc exhibits an evident trend to segregation to the Al/δ´ interface whereas this effect for Ce seems to be weak. The variation of the segregation energy is associated with the different orientation of the corresponding interface. The preferable segregated site is on the Al matrix side where the solutes tend to substitute the Al atom at the Li site for the first layer of the corresponding interface.

Distributed Secondary Voltage Optimal Control of Active Distribution Network and the System Stability Investigation

        Le Jian,Qi Gan,Zhao Lian-gang,Cui Jian-yong 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.3

This paper presents a distributed secondary voltage optimal control strategy for active distribution network (ADN), and synthetizes the state-space model to investigate the system stability of the ADN under this control framework. A leader–follower type distributed voltage control strategy is formulated utilizing consensus protocol that can effectively decompose the node voltage control task while preserving a satisfactory voltage regulation performance. The small-signal models of distributed generation units adopting the distributed control law and the power network are established. The state-space model of the whole ADN is further established by integrating the linearized versions of these models together, and the system small-signal stability is studied utilizing eigenvalue analysis method. Finally, the IEEE-33 node distribution network under several operation scenarios is simulated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods, and the stability of the system is also analysed.
