A voltammetric assay of phenol ions was investigated using three electrode systems of graphite pencil working, reference and counter electrodes. Under optimum analytical parameters, square wave stripping working ranges were attained at a mili range of 10~80 mg/L and a micro range of 20~90 ug/L using seawater electrolyte. The developed sensor was applied to tap water and the human body system of a smoker. It was found that the methods can be applied to in vivo fluid or medicinal diagnosis.

본 고에서는 IEEE의 표준안테나 방법과 표준전장 방법의 두 가지 전계강도 측정방법을 고찰하였다. 표준 안테나 방법은 측정될 전계에 의해 표준 수신안테나에 형성된 수신전력 또는 개방전압을 측정하고 측정된 전압과 표준안테나의 치수 및 형태로부터 전계강도를 계산하는 방법이다. 표준 전장 방법은 측정될 전장 및 표준 전장에 의해 안테나에 나타나는 전압을 비교하는 방법이다. 표준전장의 크기는 전송안테나의 치수, 전류분포, 이격거리, 대지효과에 의해 계산된다. 범용적인 전계강도의 보정과 마이크로웨이브 주파수까지 확장된 전계강도 측정방법을 포함한 전계강도 측정절차에 관한 사항이 요약되었다.

We report unusual case of arising two cancers, pancreatic head cancer and cholangiocarcinoma in intrahepatic duct (IHD), in 43-year-old woman who have undergone excision of choledochal cyst and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy. Patient fi rst visited hospital in 2002, diagnosed by CT as choledochal cyst (Todani-type IVa) and multiple stones in common bile duct, IHD, and gall bladder. After surgery, IHD stones were repeatedly detected on CT and treated by percutaneous transhepatic cholangioscopy (PTCS) in 2003, 2004, 2007, and there were no fi ndings suggesting malignancies. In 2008, abdomen CT and positron emission tomography (PET) scan for evaluation of elevated total bilirubin (4. 89 mg/dL) showed 25 mm sized mass in pancreas head suggesting malignancy. Pathologic report about tissue from pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy, July 3, 2008, was moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma with extension of tumor to distal common bile duct and duodenal serosa. With diagnosis of stage III (T4 N1 M0) pancreatic head cancer, concurrent chemoradiotherapy from October 31, 2008 to October 23, 2009 was done, and her disease was cured. 2011, during removal of right IHD stone (detected on CT) by PTCS, papillary-growing mucosal lesion was showed in IHD near hepaticojejunostomy site. Biopsy resulted adenocarcinoma, it diagnosed as cholangiocarcinoma limited in mucosa. 2 times of photodynamic therapy, more than 10 times of argon plasma coagulation and following 3 times of brachytherapy via PTBD were failed eradication cholangiocarcinoma. 2013, abdomen CT and PET scan showed progression of cholangiocarcinoma with 6 cm infi ltrative lesion in central portion of IHD. Systemic chemotherapy with gemcitabine and cisplatin was started with recent application of radiofrequency ablasion (RFA) therapy. In conclusion, close and long term follow-up for pancreatic cancer and bile duct cancer in patients who have undergone excisional surgery for choledochal cyst should be mandatory.

A novel photonumeric hand grading scale for hand rejuvenation

Background Few scales are currently available to evaluate changes in hand volume. We aimed to develop a hand grading scale for quantitative assessments of dorsal hand volume with additional consideration of changes in skin texture; to validate and prove the precision and reproducibility of the new scale; and to demonstrate the presence of clinically significant differences between grades on the scale. Methods Five experienced plastic surgeons developed the Hand Volume Rating Scale (HVRS) and rated 91 images. Another five plastic surgeons validated the scale using 50 randomly selected images. Intra- and inter-rater agreement was calculated using the weighted kappa statistic and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs). Paired images were also evaluated to verify whether the scale reflected clinical differences. Results The intra-rater agreement was 0.95 (95% confidence interval, 0.922–0.974). The interrater ICCs were excellent (first rating, 0.94; second rating, 0.94). Image pairs that differed by 1, 2, and 3 grades were considered to contain clinically relevant differences in 80%, 100%, and 100% of cases, respectively, while 84% of image pairs of the same grade were found not to show clinically relevant differences. This confirmed that the scale of the HVRS corresponded to clinically relevant distinctions. Conclusions The scale was proven to be precise, reproducible, and reflective of clinical differences.
