      • 반도체 레이저 펌핑에 의한 Cr:LiSAF 레이저의 출력 특성

        반도체 레이저에 의해 펌핑되는 Cr:LiSAF 레이저를 제작하였다. 펌핑 레이저는 고출력의 적색 반도체 레이저(SDL 7432-H1) 였으며, 674 nm에서 최대 500 mW의 출력을 낼 수 있다. 레이저 결정은 plano-Brewster 모양의 Cr:LiSAF 으로 Cr³+의 농도가 3%, 길이가 3 mm, 결정의 평면인 면은 펌프레이저를 최대로 투과하고, 800-880 nm 대역에서 최대 반사율을 갖도록 코팅된 것을 사용하였다. 결정에 의한 비점수차를 보정하기 위해 V자형 공진기를 사용하였다. 펌핑레이저의 출력이 290 mW일때, Cr:LiSAF 레이저의 출력은 19.4 mW이었으며 850-870 nm 대역의 여러 종모드가 발진하였다. A Cr:LiSAF laser which was pumped by semiconductor lasers was constructed. The pumping laser was a high-power red semiconductor laser (SDL 7432-H1) of wavelength 674 nm and maximum power of 500 mW. The laser crystal was a Cr:LiSAF in plano-Brewster shape with 3% Cr³+ ion concentration and the length was 3 mm. The plane facet of the crystal was coated to have the maximum transmittance of pumping laser and to have maximum reflection over the 800 - 880 nm bandwidth. A V-shaped resonator was used to compensate the astigmatism induced by the crystal. The optical power of the Cr:LiSAF laser was 19.4 mW at the pumping power of 290 mW and many longitudinal modes were oscillated over the spectrum ranging from 850 nm to 870 nm.

        Factors Influencing the Acrylamide Content of Fried Potato Products

        BACKGROUND: Acrylamide (CAS No. 79-06-1) is known to be a carcinogenic compound, and is classified as a Group 2A compound by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, 1994). Acrylamide can be generated during the browning process via the non-enzymatic Maillard reaction of carbohydrates such as reducing sugars and of amino acids such as asparagine, both of which occur at a temperature above $120^{\circ}C$. Potato tubers contain reducing sugars, and thus, this will affect the safety of processed potato products such as potato chips and French fries. In order to reduce the level of acrylamide in potato processed products, it is therefore necessary to understand factors that affect the reducing sugar content of potatoes, such as environmental factors and potato storage conditions, as well as understanding factors affecting acrylamide formation during potato processing itself. METHODS AND RESULTS: Potatoes were cultivated in eight regions of Korea; For each of these different environments, soil physico-chemical characteristics such as pH, electrical conductivity, total nitrogen, available phosphate, and exchangeable cation content were measured and correlations with potato reducing sugar content and potato chip acrylamide levels were examined. The reducing sugar content in potato during storage for three months was determined and acrylamide level in potato chip was analyzed after processing. The storage temperature levels were $4^{\circ}C$, $8^{\circ}C$, or $10^{\circ}C$, respectively. The acrylamide content of chips prepared from potatoes stored at $10^{\circ}C$ or $20^{\circ}C$ for one month was analyzed and the different frying times were 2, 3, 5, and 7 min. CONCLUSION: This study showed that monitoring and controlling the phosphate content within a potato field should be sufficient to avoid producing brown or black potato chips. For potatoes stored at low temperatures, a reconditioning period ($20^{\circ}C$ for 20 days) is required in order to reduce the levels of reducing sugars in the potato and subsequently reduce the acrylamide and improve chip coloration and appearance.

        A pocket park is valued in securing green space in downtown and improving urban view in the aspect of natural and environmental values, and it signifies a lot as the center of local residents’ community and harmony as well. Since subway exits and surroundings that have high portions in taking up street space due to lack of green space in downtown aren't made full use of, valuable pocket park place. Dangni Pocket Park of subway exits is a park completed with cooperative works and partnership by students, specialists, administrative organizations, businesses and civilian organizations, etc. without support of special budget. The study site was finally chosen to the space between exit No.1 of Dangni subway station, after analyzing the surrounding circumstances, availability and accessibility of the space among the several subway station exits of Saha, Dangni, and Hadan Station in Busan Metropolitan city. For the designing process, The Citizens organization for Million Amenity Park performed the planning and project proceeding, and 19 design drafts were proposed during the class of landscape architecture in Dong-a University. Design review panel members discussed to select the best draft in practical and authentical, and the related experts reviewed and revised to present the final design plan. The construction was conducted was performed under the cooperation between the civil, authorities, and industrial organizations, among which Saha District office managed for the waste treatment and maintenance matters. The graduates of landscape architecture department of Dong-a University and related industrial enterprises supplied landscape materials and related labors, were supported by 20 members of GPM, one of clubs of Dong-a University volunteered durig the most of construction progress, completing the Pocket Park of subway exits through partnership.

        Molecular Analysis of Constitutive Mutations in ermB and ermA Selected In Vitro form Inducibly $MLS_B$-Resistant Enterococci

        Frequencies of spontaneous mutation from inducible resistance to constitutive resistance were determined for the four clinical isolates of erythromycin-resistant enterococci, including one isolate with ermB gene and three clinical isolates with ermA gene. The rate of ermB mutation was higher than that of ermA mutation by more than 10 fold. Sequence analysis of the regulatory regions of erm genes revealed that mutation type of ermB was just point mutation, by contraries the mutation type of ermA was either deletion or tandem duplication. These results showed distinct characteristics in mutation patterns of ermB and ermA.

      • THE TEMPORAL BEHAVIORS OF MULTILINE OSCILLATION IN A TRANSVERSELY EXCITED ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE $CO_2$ LASER WITH AN INTRACAVITY ETALON

        공진기 안에 Ge 에탈론을 넣은 TEA $CO_2$ 레이저에서 다중 전이선이 발진할 때 발진전이선 사이에서 시간 지연이 생겼다. 이때 생긴 지연효과를 좀 더 정확히 보기 위해 에탈론 대신 한 쪽은 40 % 반사율을 가지고 또 다른 한 쪽은 투과되도록 코팅된 ZnSe반반사 거울을 넣었다. 이때 출력거울의 각도를 조금씩 틀어줌에 따라 두 전이선이 발진할 때 발진시간을 조절할 수 있었고 출력의 세기도 조절할 수 있었다. 이 결과는 높은 최대출력과 짧은 레이저 출력시간을 얻기 위해서 다중전이선을 발진시킬 때에는 출력전이선들끼리의 이득경쟁효과가 비슷하여 서로 비슷한 세기의 출력을 가져야만 된다는 것을 보여준다. Pulse delays among operating lines are observed in a multiline operation transversely excited atmospheric pressure $CO_2$ laser which has an intracavity germanium etalon. To show the delay effect more precisely, we have replaced the etalon with a 40%/antireflecting coated ZnSe half mirror obtained two laser lines in which the delay can be controlled by a slight tilting of the output coupler, The results show that the individual rotational vibrational transition lines must have almost equal intensities in multiline oscillation in order to obtain high peak power and short pulses.

        일반적인 터치스크린은 물리적인 막에 의존해야 한다는 점과 크기에 제약을 받는 다는 단점이 있고, 기존에 제시되있는 스테레오 기술만을 이용한 가상 터치스크린은 스크린 상에는 손 외에 움직이는 물체가 없다고 가정하는 제약이 있다. 하지만, 기존의 터치 스크린과 같이 가상막을 이용하면서도, 배경 분리 기술과 피부색 추출 기술을 사용해서 사람의 신체 중에 피부색을 띄는 부분을 추출하고, 스테레오 기술에서 얻어진 깊이 값을 이용하여 가상막 형성하면, 가상막을 통과하는 사람의 손이나 얼굴 등 신체의 특정 부분을 추출 할 수 있다. 이 기술은 기존에 제안되었던 가상 터치 기술보다 더 안정감 있고, 고감도의 성능으로 터치를 인식 할 수 있어서 게임을 비롯한 여러 어플리케이션에 적용이 가능하다.

        <P>Immunization of dendritic cells (DC) pulsed with tumor antigen can activate tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) which are responsible for protection from tumor challenge and regression of established metastatic tumor. It has been hypothesized that tumor lysate contains factors that may modulate DC maturation. In this study, we examined whether the uptake of tumor lysate (MCA-102 fibrosarcoma) could modulate DC phenotypes in vitro and whether the administration in vivo of tumor lysate-pulsed DC (TP-DC) could elicit efficient tumor specific immune responses followed by a regression of established tumor burdens. It was investigated the uptake of tumor lysate by DC by means of flow cytometry and fluorescent microscope. Murine bone marrow-derived DC efficiently phagocytosed tumor lysate and after the uptake, the phenotype of TP-DC was surprisingly comparable to unpulsed-DC (UP-DC), exhibiting lower levels of CD80 (<51%), CD86 (<43%), and MHC class II (<59%). Also, TP-DC did not enhance secretion of IL-12p70 (UP- vs. TP; 54.5+/-6.4 vs. 50.5+/-4.8 pg/ml, respectively), contrary to those activated with LPS (113.6+/-16.8 pg/ml). However, TP-DC vaccination in vivo increased the IFN-gamma production from splenocytes higher than that of UP-DC (TP- vs. UP-DC; 41029+/-1523 vs. 4752+/-590 pg/ml, respectively). Furthermore, the administration of TP-DC enhanced specific T cell responses against MCA-102 fibrosarcoma. These results demonstrate that augmentation of DC phenotype and function in vitro is not necessarily a prerequisite for TP-DC vaccination to successfully promote anti-tumor immunity in vivo.</P>

The limitation of Instructions of IEEE std 1149.1 when used for delay fault testing is described. also, described is the design for Boundary-Scan cells that enables delay test efficient, An approach for applying delay test to scan design based circuits with Boundary-Scan architecture is presented.
