사람의 피부는 자외선, 오염된 공기, 화학 제품 등 환경에 끊임없이 노출된다. 이들로 인한 자유라디칼과 활성 산소는 피부세포에 큰 손상을 끼치게 된다. 캄보디안 상황버섯 열수, 에탄올 추출물의 기능성 화장품 소재로 활용하기 위하여 지방 산패 억제능 측정과 주름개선 효과 측정을 하였다. 캄보디안 상황버섯 열수, 에탄올 추출물에 금속이온을 첨가하여 지방산패 억제능을 측정한 결과 캄보디안 상황버섯 열수 추출물 보다 에탄올 추출물이 Fe²?와 Cu²?chelating 능력이 우수하였다. 캄보디안 상황버섯 에탄올 추출물의 경우 0.1 ㎎/㎖, 0.5 ㎎/㎖, 1 ㎎/㎖의 농도에서 대조군인 butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)보다 높은 지방산패 억제를 나타내었다. 캄보디안 상황버섯 열수, 에탄올 추출물은 산화 촉매제인 Fe²를 함유한 지방 산패 억제능이 Cu²?를 이용한 지방산패 억제능 보다 우수하였다. 주름개선 효과 측정으로 elastase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 캄보디안 상황버섯 에탄올 추출물은 0.01 ㎎/㎖의 농도에서 50.7%의 저해활성을 나타내어, 대조군인 urosolic acid보다 높은 elastase 저해활성을 타나내었다. 또한 에탄올 추출물의 경우 0.1 ㎎/㎖의 농도에서 약 50%의 저해활성을 나타내어 캄보디안 상황버섯 열수 추출물 보다 에탄올 추출물이 collagenase에 대해 높은 저해활성을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과에서 캄보디안 상황버섯의 에탄올 추출물은 지방산패 억제능이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 주름 개선 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 주름 개선 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. The skin of human is constantly being exposed to environmental irritants such as ultraviolet, smoke and chemicals. These irritants cause free radicals and reactive oxygen species which leave serious damages on the cells of skin. The water and ethanol extracts of Cambodian Phellinus linteus were investigated for the activities of anti-lipid peroxidation and anti-wrinkle effects to apply as a functional ingredient for cosmetic products. As the result of evaluation of liquid oxidation rate by add Fe²? and Cu²? to Cambodian Phellinus linteus extracts, Cambodian Phellinus linteus ethanol extracts were higher than Cambodian Phellinus linteus water extracts in the chealting ability of Fe²? and Cu²?. The Cambodian Phellinus linteus ethanol extracts exhibited that anti-lipid peroxidation higher than butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) at the concentration of 0.1 ㎎/㎖, 0.5 ㎎/㎖ and 1 ㎎/㎖. Cambodian Phellinus linteus water and ethanol extracts showed a higher inhibitory effect on Fe²?-induced lipid peroxidation compared to Cu²?-induced lipid peroxidation. In the case of anti-wrinkle effect, the elastase inhibition activity of Cambodian Phellinus linteus ethanol extracts was 50.7%, and it is higher than urosolic acid at the concentration of 0.01 ㎎/㎖. Also, in collagenase inhibition activity, Cambodian Phellinus linteus water extract showed low effect, but Cambodian Phellinus linteus ethanol extract was about 50% at a 0.1 ㎎/㎖. concentration. These results proved that Cambodian Phellinus linteus had anti-lipid peroxidation and anti-wrinkle effect. Therefore, Cambodian Phellinus linteus could be useful as an anti-wrinkle cosmetic ingredient.
음나무(Kalopanax septemlobus Koidz.) 잎 추출물의 폴리페놀 및 항산화효과

음나무 잎 추출물의 생리활성을 분석하기 위해 열수추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물의 폴리페놀의 함량을 측정하였으며, 항산화활성 분석을 위해 전자공여능, nitric oxide radical 저해활성, xanthine oxidase 저해활성, ABTS radical cation decolorization을 측정하였다. 폴리페놀의 총 함량은 열수추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물에서 각각 104 mg/L, 125 mg/L으로 정량되어 70% EtOH 추출물이 열수추출 물에 비해 높은 함량을 보였다. DPPH radical 소거능은 70% EtOH 추출물이 1,000 ppm에서 93.1%로 나타나 같은 농도의 BHA와 유사한 소거능을 보였다. nitric oxide radical 저해활성은 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물이 1,000 ppm에서 49.6%, 49.5%로 나타나 같은 농도의 BHA보다 높은 nitrit oxide radical 저해활성을 보였다. Xanthine oxidase 저해활성은 1,000 ppm농도에서 열수 추출물과 70% EtOH 추출물에서 각각 46.6%, 60.4% 활성을 나타내었다. ABTS radical cation decolorization 활성은 1,000 ppm에서 열수추출물이 92.7%, 70% EtOH 추출물이 91.4%로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 보아 음나무 잎의 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물 모두 많은 폴리페놀이 함유되어 있으며, 70% EtOH 추출물과 열수추출물 모두 합성항산화제에 비해 항산화 활성이 다소 낮지만 천연 항 산화제로 우수한 항산화활성을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 이를 바탕으로 음나무 잎의 강한 항산화능을 피부노화 예방관련 미용식품 및 기능성 화장품 소재로 활용 가능한 유용한 수종으로 개발 될 수 있을 것이다. The aim of the study was to assess the cosmeceutical activity of Kalopanax septemlobus leaf and it is possible that can be used as a cosmetic ingredient for applicaiton of cosmetic industries. The concentration of total phenolic compound of hot water and 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf showed 104 mg/L and 125 mg/L respectively. In the result of DPPH(1,1- diphenyl-2-picryl -hydrazyl) scavenging radical activity, 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf showed 93.1% and it was similar to BHA(butylated hydroxyanisole) effect at 1,000ppm concentration. Xanthine oxidase inhibition of hot water extracts and 70% EtOH extracts of K. septemlobus leaf were 46.6% and 60.4% at 1,000ppm, respectively. In these results, K. septemlobus leaf has a great potential as a cosmeceutical ingredient with a natural anti-oxidant source.
몰약(Commiphora molmol)의 항염증 및 화장품 약리활성에 관한 연구

Commiphora molmol (well known myrrha) is a reddish-brown resinous material, the dried sap of the tree Commiphora molmol, native to Yemen, Somalia and the eastern parts of Ethiopia. High quality myrrha can be identified through the darkness and clarity of the resin. Limited scientific studies suggest that myrrha has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. This study determined cytotoxicity of myrrha oil to Raw 264.7 cells and its effect, measured by ELISA. This study was carried out to investigate the cosmeceutical activities of Commiphora molmol methanol extracts, by measuring electron-donating ability (using DPPH), nitrite-scavenging ability, and astringent activity. Based on the MTT assay, 12 and 24h myrrha exposures to 10ppm myrrha had little effect on Raw 264.7 cell (12h only) viability. At 24 h, 10~1000ppm myrrha decreased Raw 264.7 viability 30~38%. In nitrite-scavenging ability test, myrrha inhibited nitric oxide (NO) production and blocked LPS-induced iNOS expression. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was the 88% in 500 ppm of myrrha showed electron donating ability. Astringent effect of myrrha 98% at 500ppm concentration. These results indicate of myrrha extracts may be useful as a adjuvant for cosmeceutical industry.
토사자( Cuscuta japonica Choisy, 토絲子)를 이용한 한방팩의 안전성과 피부상태 개선에 관한 연구

This research is written to study safety and improvement of skin condition of C. japonica Choisy when used as the ingredient of pack was tested. The C. japonica Choisy sample was prepared as the extract of water and ethanol C. japonica Choisy is seed of vine characteristic plant that is in the family of the bindweed. Problems such as a change of color and separation of phase were not discovered in sun-lamp test. As the result of the clinical demostration of C. japonica Choisy water extract contained pack, the trivial change in skin`s pH and the moisturizing effect in proportion to the number of times using the pack were observed. In the survey of the pack containing C. japonica Choisy water extract, parts of whitening, moisturizing and purchasing desire scored high, however, the parts of color, texture, and scent need to be improved. Furthermore, by the result of the patch test, it was showed that there was no stimulus on skin when using the pack containing C. japonica Choisy water extract, which proves the safety of using C. japonica Choisy as the ingredient of the cosmeceutical activity. According to all the test results that have been given, it is possible that the extract of C. japonica Choisy can be used as a new natural material of oriental herbal cosmetics.

율피를 기능성 화장품 소재로 활용하기 위하여 주름개선, 미백 및 수렴효과를 검증하였다. 주름개선 효과를 검증하기 위하여 elastase 저해활성과 collagenase 저해활성을 측정하였다. Elastase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 율피아세톤 추출물 100 ㎍/㎖에서 51.0%의 효과를 나타내었으며, collagenase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 아세톤 및 에탄올 추출물이 50 ㎍/㎖ 에서 96.4%, 94.3%의 저해활성을 나타내었다. 미백효과를 확인하기 위하여 tyrosinase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 아세톤 및 에탄올 추출물이 열수 추출물보다 높은 Tyrosinase 저해활성을 나타내었으나 대조군으로 사용한 Vitamin C와 비교시 약 50%의 효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로 미루어 보아 율피 추출물의 주름개선 효과가 높음을 확인할 수 있었고, 주름개선 기능성 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 확인하였다. Aging in humans is inexorable and inescapable. The progressive decrease of physiological capacity and the reduction of the ability to cope with environmental stresses lead to increased susceptibility and vulnerability to human disease. Recently, in the cosmetic industry, many researchers have paid considerable attention to delaying or improving the symptoms of skin aging. Since the early 1990’s, there have been various challenges in developing cosmeceutical products which have strong anti-aging effects, and this has been an important issue in the cosmetic industry. Meanwhile, development of anti-aging cosmetics supported by biochemical activities in the skin has been researched. Castanea crenata inner Shell solvent extracts were investigated for anti-wrinkle and whitening effects, in order to apply it as a functional ingredient for cosmetic products. For anti-wrinkle effect, elastase inhibition activity of Castanea crenata inner shell acetone extract (CA) was 51.0% at a concentration of 100 ㎍/㎖. The collagenase inhibition activity of CA and Castanea crenata inner shell ethanol extract (CE) was 96.4%, 94.3% at a concentration of 50 ㎍/㎖. The tyrosinase inhibitory effect, which is related to skin-whitening, was 47.2% and 45.8% in CA and CE at a concentration of 500 ㎍/㎖. All these results suggest that Castanea crenata inner shell can be effectively used as a cosmeceutical ingredient for the prevention of wrinkles.
