        The development of the growth theory narks a turning poiot in the history of education theory in this country, Progrssive Education is the application of Dewey's philosophy of education. Education for growth, a statement of educational purpose most generally consistent with pragmatism, had its most explicit formulation in the philosophical work of Dewey Expositors of education for growth begin with two assumptions ; First, children are immature and, because of theis native ability to learn, are traveling down the road to maturity. Second, as they travel this long road, one frequently filled with all kinds of obstacles, They have the right to espect from the schools a course of enstruction providing them with habits for meeting and mastering existing conditions and, moreover, for adjusting thein skills and their behavior to novel conditions. Children in educational circum tances of any kind, have a capacity for growth, and this growth is best when it enables children to use their capocity in connection with new aims. Growth is a natural characteristic of life, It has no end beyond itself. The point is that education. When educational purpose is defined as growth, it means that schools must kindle in students a desire for growth, and this kindling involves opplying the artistry of teaching without at the sams time descending into any kind of compulsion or routine traing, the necessary and appropriate means to ensure personal growth must form the seed and the motive force for decent educational accomplishment.

      • 화상처리를 이용한 전기트리의 프랙탈 해석

        The tree observation tehnique is being highlighted as a reasearch area for deterioration of insulation because of high-voltage power system. Many reseachers make efforts to develop not only diagnosis of aging state but also detection of defects in the initial stage from preventive diagnosis system. For the measurement of tree, image processing is actively studied as a experimental technique of electrical tree, because the conventional directed visual impossible to analyze on the tree degradation area, progressed direction, and tree pattern etc. In this paper, we have developed the tree measuring system using image processing. By using an image processing technique, the tree features which appear immediately after the tree initiation as well as changes in the configuration of the tree can be easily measured and observed than the conventional visual methods.

      • 고교생의 논리적사고력과 과학탐구 기능 사이의 상관관계에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the interrelationships on integrated science process skills and Piagetian cognitive modes for high school students according to the different cognitive reasoning levels. About 509 high school students were randomly selected for the samples of this study. They were identified as concrete, transitional and formal operational stage with the scores of GALT(Group Assessment of Logical Thinking) developed by Roadrangka, Yeaney and Padilla(1982), and TIPS Ⅱ(Test of Integrated Process Skills) developed by Burns, Wise and Okey(1983). The result of this study were showed that about 11.8% of the samples were in the concrete operational stage and about 24.4% of the samples were in the transitional stage, while about 63.8% of them were in the formal operational stage. It was also found that the achivement scores of the science process skills increase in accordance with the cognitive reasoning levels. The value of the correlation coefficient between science process skills and cognitive reasoning abilities was 0.49, which was significant at the 0.05 level. This finding seems to support previous research that the student's cognitive resoning abilities appeared to have influenced student's scores of the science process skills No differences to the logical reasoning ability between male and female students according to each cognitive level were found except formal operational stage.

        Thermally stable polymer which does not lose weight rapidly up to about 400℃ was prepared from p-aminobenzoic acid by means of melt polymerization. The polymer was identified completely para oriented aromatic polyamide by analytical data. And some information obtained from synthetic process and thermal and/or chemical stability of these polymers was discussed.

        대형경유차 저공해기술 적용에 따른 나노입자 배출특성

        Diesel engines which emit a lot of PM and NOx have been known as a main air polluter. Especially, diesel particulate matters (DPM) including black smoke are hazardous air pollutants to human health and environment. The nations retaining advanced engine technologies have reinforced emission regulations. To meet these regulations diesel engine manufacturers have developed low-emission diesel engines, aftertreatment equipments, alternative fuel technologies and so on. In this study, particle number concentrations characteristics according to particle size and engine driving conditions were analyzed when these low-emission technologies were applied. There was a tendency of increasing particle number concentrations from heavy-duty diesel engines with increasing engine rpm and load rate. In the cases of CDPF (Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filter), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) engine and ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) more than 99% of particle number concentration were removed.

      • 學齡期前 兒童敎育에 關한 一硏究 : Special Reference to the education of childhood before School age

        In this study, I have tried to seek the important quality of the education of children under school age. From the cradle until maturer years, man is brought up ceaselessly under the careful education of parents. Generally, in the civilized world, the process of education until grown up man, needs twenty years, they said. The first stage of human educational development is the period of childhood To a child, the education too early started missesits aim, but if the time is adapt-able, it is very hopeful to the development of the child, If we miss the time of education for a child, it is very difficult to recover the lost time of the child; therefore it is very important to decide the time of education for a child. In this study, I have tried to consider the adaptable time for a child, and have found it's the period of an infant. And I have sought the process of an infant eduation as follows: 1) The development of the body: -It is a remarkable phenomena that the development of the body of an infant before school age grows rapidly in any other period of the chilld. An average height of a new born baby is 50cm, and its weight 3.3kg. But when the baby is six years old, his height becomes 106cm, its weight 17.3kg. From these phenomena, we can know easily the rapid progress. 2) Mental development: the development of the brain, as the basis of mental development to an infant needs careful examination. Under one year, the weight of the brain of a baby is one third of a grown-up man, and under three years old, two third. And when the infant is six years old, the welght of the brain becomes 88% of that of a grown up man. 3) The development of personal character-Personal character depends on the circumstances of the emotion and will of the man. It is very important that the emotional elements are the basis accomplished in human life and action. The development of emotion will nearly until five years old. The operation of the will as the force of the self assertion of personal ego will, they say, appear in the period of an infant as its first stage. 4) The develapment of sociability: It is very valuable that how to make an acquaintance with other man is very precious thing in the making of a man. The ego formation takes forms as the particularity of the man from 2 or three years old to five, and from this period, children long for the association with their friends. 5) The development of intelligence: the period of an infant before school age is very important to the infant, he learns much and needs enormous knowledge Under this favourable circumstance, the child can develop his intelligence by his sagacous leader. An infant needs an adaptable circumstance and the guidance of grown-up leader who has enormous of every direction. From these considerations, we know that the education of an infant period before school age is very important period which is the basis of a whole life for an infant. In this period, in order to a fine gentleman or lady every naive boy and girl leads a healthy and a happy life under the good care of their parents when those children grow up harmoniously with their ego and super ego, they will become a gentleman or lady who can love others and peace and their mother country. This type of a man is a complete one in a happy state. The only one way to evade the injustice, unhappness and especially the brutal crimes of teen agers, we are to bring up our children with an ideal educational idea. And the authority is to renovate the educational instution for infants. Lastly, I would like to urge the urgent need to help the infants to develop their healthy body and mind.

      • Rousseau의 敎育思想에 關한 一硏究

        Jean Jacques Rousseau had a repulsion feeling in his mind about the superstitious view on religion, clogmatic creed, absolute government, the extreme difference between rich and poor, their usurped actions to people, and ethical corruption and luxurious life of the upper class. He called these social conditions an artificial state and, from this state, he saw a image of man who was ruined. If he manifested the impression as a ruined man, we can impress it as a human alienation or inhumanized man. We have had sensations from the urbanized society and the mechanized material civilization. Rousseau proposed two directions so that the inequaled and corrupted society would be reformed, and a new moral social order would stand. The one is a political theory through the discourse of social contract, the other is educational thought that he mentioned in "Emile". The main contents of the former is to set up through the social contract. But the contractor, that is, the man, must be reformed in the first place through the education. This is the contents of latter. Rousseau showed the man as a educational object when he said in the Book I Emile that everything is good as it comes from the hands of the Author of Nature, but everything becomes evil in the hands of man. Under the major premise that man is good primarilly, he saw that it is a process of the artificial society that made the man ill. He made a theme to help return man to primitive humanities, and proposed a state of nature as the ideal aims of education. He provided for equality, freedom, compassion, fraternity and spontanity as characteristics of natural state. The aim of this education is not to give something to child, but develope and preserve the natural tendency that child has possessed from birth. As the extreme result of this exertion, We would bring up the moral freeman. This man would be able to get competency and to Keep a new soeial order. The general goal in the educational theory of naturalism may be a human restoration. For the human restoration, in other words, it means that man should be taken out of the artificial society and placed in contact with nature, and discover the natural law, and live according to that law.

      • 국민학교 자연과 천문분야 내용 분석과 문제점

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents and problems on astronomical areas in the elementary science textbooks. The results of analysis are as follows; 1. In objective analysis of the elementary science textbooks, completeness of unit was shown 50% in chapters, 67% in sections, and 100% in periods. 2. In inquiry activities, the total number of inquiry tasks are 108, among them observation has much more percentage(30%) than any other task. 3. The total inquiry index of the science textbooks are found about 73.4, this index is higher than 35-50 of NSTA. 4. The openness scale of the science textbooks is found to be scale 2 for all sections.
