        A Review on the Application of Nanotechnology in Food Processing and Packaging

        Currently, nanotechnology is widely applied in various industrial fields and is rapidly emerging as a promising future technology. In food industries, nanotechnology is used to enhance food quality and safety. Numerous cutting-edge studies on the advantages of nanotechnology have been conducted in the fields of food processing, food ingredients and additives, food packaging, and food engineering for optimal health. The market for these areas of research has grown steadily, and is expected to continue to do so. Because of this, R&D for nanotechnology that can be used effectively in food industries is being performed by several companies, as well as in academic research institutions around the world. This review describes the recent global R&D trends that have been in progress for two key areas: food processing and food packaging.

      • 지방정부 행정서비스에 대한 주관적 평가 : 영천시를 중심으로 The Case of Yeong-cheon City

        이 글은 지방정부의 민원행정서비스 만족도를 평가하고, 개선방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구는 경북 영천시를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 민원행정서비스는 친절하고 신속하게 이루어졌지만, 과거 획일적이고 공급자 위주의 행정을 탈피하여 수요자 중심의 행정을 전개하기 위해 서비스 차별화 전략이 필요하다. 둘째, 민원행정서비스에 대한 만족도는 전체적으로 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 민원사항에 대한 충분한 설명과 지식, 정보제공, 민원인을 대상으로 한 간단한 문서교육 등이 필요하다. 셋째, 민원시책에 대해서는 만족도가 낮았다. 이를 제고하기 위해서는 전체주민을 고려한 행사, 다양한 방법 (각종매체, 모임)을 통한 홍보활동전개, 특정한 날을 정하기보다는 상시적인 행사, 시의 편리한 시간에 행사 일을 맞추기보다는 주민의 시간을 고려한 행정 등이 필요하다. 마지막으로 민원행정서비스에 대한 개선책으로 각종 법규정비의 간소화가 중요하다. 또 복합민원만을 one-Stop, non-stop으로 처리할 수 있는 별도의 민원 부서가 필요하다. This paper propose to evaluate satistaction and policy orientation of civi1 service in Local government. Its analyze through questionnaire method in case of Yeong-cheon city, Gyeongbuk. The results of this study are as follows: First, civil service enforce friendly and speed, but its need defficiental strategy of civil service to deployment custommer-oriented administration deviate from fixed supply-oriented administration of the past. Second, the satisfaction of civil service totally high. Especially, its need explanation and knowledge sufficiently for civil service, furnishment of information, document education for citizen etc. Third, the satisfaction of civil program somewhat low. In order to the rise service program satisfaction, local government should open citizens’ events, public relation through mass media, civil conference, simplicity of law etc.

        키랄 HPLC를 이용한 라세미 케토프로펜의 광학분할

        케토프로펜은 비스테로이드 계통의 진통 및 소염제로서 류마티즘, 관절염 등을 위한 진통제나 해열제로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 케토프로펜이 치료약으로 사용될 때 S-(+)-Ketoprofen이 주로 약리적 활성을 나타내고 R-(-)-Ketoprofen은 불활성이거나 오히려 부작용을 일으키는 문제점을 나타내고 있다. 본 연구에서는 케토프로펜 대장체(enantiomer)를 다양한 키랄 HPLC 칼럼을 이용하여 광학분할을 수행하면서 적합한 분리조건을 조사하였다. 고정상을 찾는 실험에서는 β-CD(β-cyclodextrin) BR®과 Kromasil® 칼럼을 이용하여 실험을 하였고, 이동상의 최적의 조성비를 찾는 실험도 수행하였다. 이 과정에서 라세미 Ketoprofen의 분리도는 사용된 키랄 고정상과 이동상의 조성비에 크게 영향을 받는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 고정상으로는 Kromasil® 칼럼을 선택하고 이동상의 유속, 주입부피 그리고 주입농도가 라세미 Ketoprofen의 분리에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 실험결과 주입부피가 증가함에 따라서 분리도는 감소하였으나 이동상 유속이 증가함에 따라서 주입부피의 증가가 분리도에 미치는 영향은 점차 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. Ketoprofen, a phenylpropionic acid derivative, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID) that has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. Pharmacological activity has been attributed mainly to the S-(+)-enantiomer, while the R-(-)-enantiomer is either inactive or has side effect. The optical separation of Ketoprofen enantiomers was carried out by various chiral HPLC(chiral high-performance liquid chromatography) columns and most compatible separation conditions of Ketoprofen enantiomers were investigated. The resolution and enantio selectivity of Ketoprofen were found to be strongly influenced by the employed chiral stationary phases(CSPs) and composition of eluents. The employed chiral stationary phases(CSPs) in this study were β-CD BR® and Kromasil®. The optimum composition of eluent was obtained differently for stationary material phase. The effects of process variables such as flow rate, injection volume, and concentration of eluent on Ketoprofen enantiomers separation were investigated using Kromasil® columns. The resolution decreased with the increase of injection volume, however, the effect became insignificant at higher flow rate.

      • LP강판의 두께변화에 따른 강거더의 효율성 평가

        There has been an increased interest in the Longitudinally Profiled(LP) plate as a structural element for bridges, due to its advantage to efficiently distribute the sectional force applied to the structure. The advantage also includes the reduction of weight and the number of welding points. The LP plate was originally developed in Europe, and the application has since increased rapidly on steel bridges in Europe and Japan. Though widely used internationally, much of the study for the structural application of the LP plate is yet to be performed. In this paper, the workability of the LP plate was evaluated by the tests for tensile and bending. In addition, the stability was reviewed and verified by a comparison between experimental and analytical results. The economical efficiency was also examined for different section types by finite element analysis.

      • 다이아프램 맨홀현상에 따른 응력 분배 거동

        Using of steel box girder bridges have been used a tendency to increase for workability and economic reasons. For maintenance and management of these bridges, manholes are needed for route. (But installation of manholes causes a loss of area of section. It is developed with stiffness down and stress concentration.) By way of prevention, it is reinforced with attachments and stiffeners or its shape strengthened by as aspect in geometry. Sometimes it is over-estimated and excessive reinforcing at a welding cost follows. In this paper, both experimental and analytical results are performed to verify the behavior of a steel box girder bridge under increasing dead loads. Furthermore, there is some structural analysis on several manhole types of diaphragm, which reflect the real effect of the support. The presentation in this paper is ultimately the most reasonable and economical reinforcing method for the manhole of a diaphragm is a steel box girder bridge.

      • 부유대역 용융응고법으로 제조된 YBa_2Cu_3O_x 산화물초전도체의 미세구조와 전기적 특성

        The YBa_2Cu_3O_x-20 wt% Y_2BaCuO_5 composition designed in YBCO system was synthesized by solid state reaction method. The optimum condition of hot zone temperature and growth rate in floating-zone melt were 1080 ℃ and 2.5 mm/hour, respectively. In samples growth as these condition, the low angel boundaries in grain direction and small amount of amorphous phase known as decreasing characteristics of superconducting materials between grain boundaries in microstructure are investigated by polarized light microscopy on the whole. The critical current density(Jc) at 77k of sample using powder fabricated with no CeO_2 and doped 5 wt%CeO_2 were 8,000 A/㎠(Jc : 561A) and 12,000 A/㎠(Jc: 826A) at 0 T by direct current transport method, respectively.

        광양만 해역에서의 고효율 질소-인 제거 해양박테리아 탐색 및 분리

        371 균주의 해양박테리아를 광양만에서 분리하였다. 우점종은 Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aeromonas hydrophila, P. fluorescens, P. paucimobilis, Chryseomonas luteola, P. vescularis 등이었다. 영양염과 유기물을 제거할 수 있는 해양박테 리아를 탐색하기 위하여 암모니아성 질소(100 mg/L), 질산성 질소(100 mg/L) 및 인(10 mg/L)이 각각 포함된 10 mL의 marine broth 2216 (DIFCO)에 해양박테리아를 접종(1.0%, v/v)하고 12시간 배양하였다. 스크리닝 테스트 결과 25% 이상 COD을 제거하는 해양박테리아는 16종, 15% 이상의 암모니아 질소를 제거하는 해양박테리아는 9종, 60% 이상의 질산 질소를 제거하는 해양박테리아는 11종 그리고 90% 이상의 인을 제거하는 해양박테리아는 13종이 분리되었다. Aeromonas hydrophila, Chryseomonas indologenes, Pseudomonas diminuta, Vibrio parahaemolyticus 균주가 유기물 및 영양염류 제거 실험을 위해 선정되었다. 회분식 시험을 위해 4종의 해양박테리아를 COD<sub>Cr</sub> 250 mg/L, NH<sub>3</sub>-N 40 mg/L, NO<sub>3</sub>-N 40 mg/L, PO<sub>4</sub><sup>3-</sup>-P 10 mg/L이 각각 첨가되어 있는 변형 marine broth에 접종하고, 10시간 배양하면서 제거효율을 측정하였다. 371 strains of marine bacteria were isolated from Gwangyang bay in Korea. The dominant species were identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aeromonas hydrophila, P. fluorescens, P. paucimobilis, Chryseomonas luteola and P. vescularis. To screen marine bacteria capable of removing nutrients and organics, marine bacteria was inoculated in 10 mL of marine broth 2216 (DIFCO) with NH<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>N (100 mg/L), NO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>N (100 mg/L), and PO<sub>4</sub><sup>-</sup>P (10 mg/L) with 1.0% (v/v), and incubated for 12 h. Results from the screening test, showed that the removal efficiencies for COD<sub>Cr</sub>, ammonia niterogen, nitrate nitrogen, and phosphate were over 25% for 16 strains, 15% for 9 strains, 50% for 63 strains, and 15% for 80 strains, respectively. Aeromonas hydrophila, Chryseomonas indologenes, Pseudomonas diminuta, Vibrio parahaemolyticus were selected for nutrients removal experiments. For the batch test, 4 species of marine bacteria were inoculated in modified marine broth containing with nutrients(COD<sub>Cr</sub> 250 mg/L, NH<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>N 40 mg/L, NO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>N 40 mg/L, PO<sub>4</sub><sup>-</sup>P 10 mg/L, respectively), incubated for 10 hr and the removal efficiencies were measured.

      • Photophysical Properties of Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescent Materials upon Distortion of Central Axis of Donor Moiety

        <P>In this study, we showed the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety can switch critically the rate of the reverse intersystem crossing (<I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>) process, which is the trigger point to modulate the lifetime of delayed fluorescence. To achieve <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>, what we desired (10<SUP>5</SUP> to 10<SUP>6</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) in a series of donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) type thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials, the donor groups (phenoxazine and phenothiazine) were selectively introduced. Maintaining the near orthogonality between donor and acceptor (benzonitrile) moiety, the occurrence of the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety could make the effect of locally excited triplet state (<SUP>3</SUP>LE). In other words, the interaction between <SUP>3</SUP>LE and the charge transfer counterparts (i.e., <SUP>1</SUP>CT and <SUP>3</SUP>CT) contributes an opposite propensity of <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB> for each of the target TADF materials when those are dissolved in solution and condensed in solid state. Herein, we have theoretically and experimentally shown the photophysical behavior of common D-A-D type TADF upon the different systems.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
