Nammyung’s Spirit and the entrepreneurship of Muhak Group Chairman Choi, Wiseung

This study examined the relationship between Nammyeong’s spirit and the entrepreneurship of Muhak Group founder Choi, Wiseung. Nammyeong’s spirit can be said to be the Confucian thought emphasizing Gyeong(敬) for self-reflection and Ui(義) of practice, and the scholarly spirit of Nammyeong Jo, Shik(1501-1572). Jo is a person who emphasized practice rather than learning and self-reflection, and is mentioned as a pioneer of Silhak, born in the late Joseon Dynasty. Choi(1932-2022) was born in Goseong, Gyeongsangnam-do, where Jo's Nammyeong’s spirit is widespread. Choi is an entrepreneur who founded Muhak Co., Ltd. based on his own intuition and insight, and is a person who made efforts to create jobs and nurture talents in the region. From the perspective of Nammyeong’s spirit, the results of examining the entrepreneurship of former chairman Choi of Muhak Group are as follows. First, Choi's insight, intuition, and professional knowledge well reveal Nammyeong's Gyeong for emphasizing self-reflection. Second, Choi always emphasized trust, which shows the Ui of Nammyeong’s spirit. Third, Choi emphasizes the thought of patriotism through business patriotism and national welfare. This is in line with Jo's spirit of patriotism and love for the people. Fourth, it can be said that Jo's spirit of cultivating talented people was realized through Choi's establishment of the Muhak Scholarship Foundation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical characteristics of patients admitted to emergency rooms with ocular chemical injuries, the substances responsible for such injuries, in order to improve their prevention and treatment. Methods: The subjects of this study were 73 patients admitted to the hospital with ocular chemical injuries from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010. The subjects were divided into groups based on the PSS (poisoning severity score)grade of their injuries, where grades 0 and 1 were classified as the low group (low PSS) and grades 2 and 3 were classified as the high group (high PSS). There were 28 subjects in the low PSS group (38.3%) and 45 subjects in the high PSS group (61.6%). The results were retrospectively reviewed by examining the medical records of the patients. Results: Upon their arrival to the hospital, the most common symptoms were red eye (50.7%), pain (39.7%), and eye irritation (39.7%). Red eyes were more frequently observed from 27 persons (60%) in the high PSS group (p=0.04). The most common causative substances were chemicals and adhesives/glues for both groups (21 cases each). Among the 15 patients exposed to acids or alkalis,13 patients belonged to the high PSS group. Only two patients visited the hospital after having washed their eyes. Conclusion: Worse damage was observed from workrelated exposure (including alkali or acid exposure), causing red eye and ocular chemical injuries. Onsite first aid was lacking.

소주 ‘좋은데이’ 생산 기업 ㈜무학의 탄생 배경

㈜무학은 경남을 대표하는 소주인 ‘좋은데이’를 생산ㆍ판매하는 기업이다. 이 기업의역사는 고 최위승이 마산양조장을 인수하여 1965년에 무학양조장을 설립한 시점으로 거슬러 올라간다. 무학양조장은 제일제당의 판매대리점에서 출발한 최위승이 대흥상사를 통해 축적한 자본을 기반으로 설립한 기업이다. 이는 국내 최초의 소주 생산 자동화 라인을도입하고, 주정배정제의 기회를 통해 경남에 있던 대부분의 소주 생산 및 판매 회사를 인수한다. 현재 ㈜무학의 초대 회장 최위승은 2022년 6월 2일에 세상을 떠나고, 1994년대표이사로 취임한 그의 둘째 아들 최재호가 기업을 경영하고 있다. 소주 ‘좋은데이’ 생산기업 ㈜무학의 탄생 배경은 최위승의 일대기와 그 맥을 같이하며, 이는 기업과 지역이 함께 성장을 보여주는 우수한 사례라 할 수 있다. 최위승은 생존 시 단순 봉사직인 마산상공회의소 회장 및 대한적십자사 경남지사장 역임한다. 또한, 그는 지역사회 인재양성 기여 및 기업이윤의 사회 환원에 목적을 둔 무학장학재단을 수립한다. 많은 사람으로부터받은 혜택을 갚기 위한 그의 노력에서 우리는 기업가로서 꼭 갖추어야 할 지역사회 봉사정신을 배울 수 있다. ㈜무학의 탄생과 발전 경위는 학회에 처음으로 보고되는 것이며, 경남의 대표적 경영인에 대한 기업가사를 조명하며, 향후 후속 연구를 불러올 수 있다는점에서 학술적으로 그 의미가 크다. Muhak Co., Ltd. is a company that produces and sells ‘Good Day’, a soju representative of Gyeongnam. The history of this company dates back to the time when the late Wiseung Choi took over Masan Brewery and established Muhak Brewery in 1965. Muhak Brewery was founded by Wiseung Choi, who started out as a sales agent for CJ, with capital accumulated through Daeheung Trading Company. It introduces Korea's first automated production line and acquires most of the soju production and sales companies in Gyeongnam through the opportunity of the alcohol allocation system. Wiseung Choi, the first chairman of Muhak Co., Ltd., passed away on June 2, 2022, and his second son Jaeho Choi, who took office as CEO in 1994, is running the company. While alive, Wiseung Choi serves as the president of the Masan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, which are simple volunteer positions. In his efforts to repay the benefits received from many people, we can learn the spirit of community service that entrepreneurs must have.

미 고결 지반에서의 지반보강에 의한 터널굴착에 관한 연구

When a tunnel is excavated within a soft soil layer in a shallow depth, soil deformation characteristics depending on soil improvement merhodologies, a grout method by using urethane and a mini pipe-roof method, have been investigated by analyzing results from numerical analysis and field measurement data. Following conclusions are considered to be approproate; Measured surface settlements appeared to be 26∼36% of results obtained from numerical analysis when the soft soil layer around the tunnel is grouted by using urethane. Surface settlements accompanied by advancing a tunnel face reached its maxinum value at the location of 2∼2.5 D behind the tunnel face. When the mini pipe-roof method is applied to strengthen the weak soil layer around the tunnel,measured surface settlements were 38∼89% of theoretical values. Displacements at the SL(Sprong Line) moved outwards because vertival stresses are greater than horizontal stresses during excavating the upper part, but moved inwards because horizontal stresses are relatively greater than vertical stresses during the excavation stage of the lower part. In case of applying the mini pipe-roof method to improve the soft soil layer,vertical deflection at the rown reached around 42% of the total deflection after excavating the upper part. Measured deflections recorded 10∼50% of theoretical values. As for the effectiveness of excavation methodologies estimated through numerical analysis, maximum surface settlement, maximum vertical deflection at the crown,and maximum lateral displaement at the silot method of five stage excavation showed 83%, 88%, and 76% of those values due to the three stage excavation,respectively.

지역문화자원을 활용한 스토리텔링기반 콘텐츠의 수용과 지역방문의도에 관한 연구

최근 들어 각 지역마다 산재되어 있는 다양한 문화자원들을 활용하여 스토리텔링이 이루어지고 있으며, 각 지자체는 이것을 기반으로 지역의 홍보수단은 물론이며, 콘텐츠 개발을 통하여 관광자원으로 활용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이들 문화자원을 활용한 콘텐츠의 특성들을 살펴보고 이중에서 스토리텔링 기반 콘텐츠들을 선정하여 이용자에게 보여주고 이것을 본 후 태도변화와 지역 방문의도를 측정하는 설문지를 개발하여 실증분석을 하고자 한다. 주요 독립변수로는 콘텐츠 품질, 스토리텔링 구성, 문화자원의 매력성 등이며, 중간매개변수는 지역문화에 대한 공감과 태도(호의적 반응)이고, 최종 종속변수로는 지역의 방문의도를 설정한다. 본 연구를 통하여 어떤 요인들의 지역방문의도를 불러일으키는데 중요한 요인인가를 분석하여 실제 지자체의 관광전략 수립에 활용한다.

The Air-Sea Battle Concept, as a US countermeasure to China`s A2/AD concept, provides a critical standard as option that may be adopted by ROK as its military response strategy against China, considering the prospect of a ROK ? China conflict being gradually materialized with China`s recent declaration of its ADIZ that included leodo island. This paper examines the content of US ASB Concept and taking into account the ROK military strategic environment, it analyzes the expected scenarios as well as the type of joint operation that would take form as a result of applying the ABS Concept. Based on each central premise of US ASB Concept ? Logistics, Network, Integration, and Attack-in-Depth - ROK military`s joint operation examined ROK forces` inadequacies and matters requiring supplementation for each area. In terms of In terms of network, explanation for how each services` interoperability and network connectivity must be considered in procuring weapon systems for conducting joint air ? naval operations was given. Moreover, in integration, an explanation is given on how joint operation must be directed by an integrated commander on site and how the on-site commander must be well-versed in each respective force`s features and operations. Lastly, in terms of depth-in-attack, in order to prevent escalation by limiting the parameters to the Ieodo area, Paralyzing China`s war fighting capabilities in this region by first attacking the enemy`s network systems and C41SR targets in space ? cyber domains has been proposed. This thesis carries much significance in that it has contributed to the concept development providing logic for construction development of future ROK military power, specifically in relation to the fact that for the last 60 some years, ROK has only experienced preparing for war against NK and failed stand in preparedness against conflicts with neighboring states.
