        철-크롬 산화환원흐름전지에서 Nafion막의 철-크롬 Crossover

        산화환원흐름전지(Redox Flow Battery, RFB)는 대용량 에너지 저장장치로 바나듐 산화환원흐름전지가 대표적인 RFB인데, VRFB는 고가인 점이 문제다. 철-크롬RFB는 저가의 활물질을 사용해 경제적인 점이 장점인데, 성능이 낮은 점이 해결해야할 과제다. 낮은 성능의 한 원인이 활물질의 크로스오버인데, 본 연구에서 철과 크롬 이온의 Nafion 막 크로스오버 및 Nafion 막의 안정성에 대해 실험하였다. 철과 크롬이온의 Nafion 막 투과도는 각각 $5.5{\times}10^{-5}$, $6.0{\times}10^{-5}cm^2/min$ 이었다. Nafion 막에서 바나듐 이온의 투과도 $2.9{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/min$ 보다 18.9~20.7배 높아 철과 크롬 이온의 Nafion 막 크로스오버가 성능 저하의 한 원인임을 보였다. 온도 증가에 따라 크로스오버가 급증(활성화 에너지 38.8 kJ/mol)하므로 낮은 온도에서 구동하는 것이 크로스오버에 의한 성능감소를 저하시키는 방법임을 나타냈다. Nafion막은 3M HCl용액에서 비교적 안정적이었다. The redox flow battery (RFB) is a large-capacity energy storage equipment, and the vanadium redox flow cell is a typical RFB, but VRFB is expensive. Iron-chrome RFBs are economical because they use low-cost active materials, but their low performance is a urgent problem. In this study, the crossover of iron and chromium ion through Nafion membrane and the stability of Nafion membrane in HCl solution were investigated. The permeability of iron and chrome ion through Nafion were $5.5{\times}10^{-5}$ and $6.0{\times}10^{-5}cm^2/min$, respectively, which was 18.9~20.7 times higher than that of vanadium ion ($2.9{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/min$). The crossover of iron and chromium ions were shown to be a cause of performance decrease in Iron-chrome RFB. As the temperature increases, the crossover increases rapidly (activation energy 38.8 kJ/ mol), indicating that operation at low temperature is a methode to reduce the performance loss due to crossover. Nafion membranes were relatively stable in 3 M HCl solution.

        In-Ceram 코아의 표면처리 방법에 따른 레진 시멘트와의 결함강도 및 표면상태에 관한 연구

        This study was performed to evaluate effective surface conditioning method of In-Ceram core to improve bonding with resin cement. The surface of each sample was avraded with glass bead for 20 seconds and then subjected to one of the following conditions : no modification, sandblasting with $50{\mu}m$ slumimum oxide powders for 20 seconds, etching with 20% hydrofluoric acid for 5, 10, and 15 minutes(half of the etched samples were coated with silane), and sandblasting with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide powders and silica coating whith Silicoater MD system(Kulzer, Germany). The surface morphology changes were examined with scanning electronic microscope(SEM. and the shear bond strength of In-Ceram core samples to resin cement(Panavis 21, Kurayay, Japan) were measured. It was concluded that : 1. By SEM observation, 20% HF acid etching did not create clear microretentive structure and surface roughness diminished with increace in etching time. Sandblasting was more effective than 20% hydrofluoric acid etching in producing microretentive structure. 2. The bond strengths of all In-Ceram core samples surface conditioned were increased that that of control group. 3. Silica coating showed higher bond strength than etching with 20% hydrofluoric acid. 4. The use of silane coating was more effective in improving bond strength than lengthening etching time.

        We describe a 19-year-old girl showing typical laboratory and clinical features of bullous systemic lupus erythematosus(BSLE). Clinically she has suffered from recurrent vesiculobullous skin eruptions for 7 years. The bullous eruption has not been known as the initial manifestation of SLE until she was diagnosed as SLE. These cutaneous lesions have waxed and waned with oral prednisolone with or without dapsone. Bullous SLE should be considered in the differential diagnosis of children presenting with generalized bullous eruptions. (Kor J Dermatol 1997;35(4): 767-771)

        Agrobacterium을 이용한 형질전환 상추의 세포 현탁배양으로부터 hGM-CSF의 생산

        hGM-CSF가 식물세포 현탁 배양을 통하여 생산이 가능한지를 조사하기 위하여 hGM-CSF를 포함하고 있는 A. tumerfaciens LBA4404를 가지고 상추에 형질전환시켰다. 형질전환된 상추로부터 캘러스를 유도하여 캘러스를 이용한 세포배양체계를 확립하였다. PCR과 Southern blot analysis 결과 상추에 hGM-CSF 유전자가 도입된 것을 확인하였으며, Northern blot analysis 결과 상추식물체에 hGM-CSF 유전자가 발현됨을 확인하였다. 현탁 배양 세포로부터 분비된 hGM-CSF를 ELISA를 이용하여 측정한 결과 149.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/L가 생산됨 을 확인하였다 이러한 결과는 상추의 현탁 배양 세포가 hGM-CSF와 같은 치료용 단백질의 생산 숙주로 이용될 수 있음을 보여주었다. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) was transformed with Agrobacterium tumefacience LBA4404 containing human granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (hGM-CSF) gene to produce in cell suspension cultures. Cell suspension culture was established using callus from transgenic lettuce plant. Integration of hGM-CSF gene into plant chromosome was confirmed through genomic PCR and Southern blot analysis. In addition, Northern blot analysis indicated the expression of the introduced hGM-CSF gene in transformed lettuce. The recombinant hGM-CSF was expressed in transgenic cell cultures derived from transgenic plants as a yield of about 149.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/L in culture filtrate, which was determined by ELISA. These results demonstrated that transformed lettuce cell suspension cultures could be used as a production system of therapeutic proteins such as hGM-CSF.

        비정상 조직에서 Protein Carboxyl Methyltransferase 의 활성도 및 그 Isoenzyme 의 변화에 관한 연구

        The levels of protein carboxyl methyltransferase, an enzyme that methylates free carboxyl groups of altered protein and its isoenzymes were determined in normal and abnormal tissues (normal blood, diabetic blood, normal stomach and its tumor, normal breast and its tumor). Protein carboxyl methyltransferase activities were higher in the diabetic blood and the tumors than in their normal tissues. The distributions of protein carboxyl methyltransferase isoenzymes in normal tissues were different from in abnormal tissues. These results suggest the measurements of PCM activity and its isoenzymes offer a possible clinical diagnosis.

        경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 업무수행에 관한 연구

        Authors purposed to observe activities of occupational health nurses and it's related factors, and to suggest the way that induct better occupational health nurses' activities with questionaire to 87 occupational health nurses who individually work as health manager in the plant. The questionaire included type of plant and number of workers, general characteristics, work conditions, activities, etc. Major findings are as follows. 1. 82.8% of occupational health nurses were third decade. 93.1% graduated junior college or college. And 82.8% were not married. 2. General work conditions: 40.2% were belonged to safety-health section, 98.85% were mere clerks. 60.9% worked less than weekly 44 hours, and an annual salary of 50.6 % was between 10 million and 14 million won. 3. Work condition related to health manager work: there was separated health care room in 94.3%, working period as health manager(occupational health nurse) was less than 5 years in 70.1%, 49.4% had the out-of-health manager work. In 87.4%, occupational physician was appointed, only 6.9% of them were full time, 52.9% of them worked little in the plants. The problems related to workers' health were discussed with industrial nurses in 88.5%. 4. Attitude for their work: 88.5% were thought that their work is important for workers' health care, 57.5% satisfied to work as health manager. In 51.7%, motive to being industrial nurse were the appropriate aptitude. 5. Activities: General medical care in 100% were carried out, in 97.7% works related to general health examination, in 100% works related to special health examination were carried. But works related to use of protective apparatus were carried out in 20.8%. 6. Factors related to level of activities: In cases who solved the health related problems by themselves, the level of activites was significantly higher than in others. In cases there were full time occupational physician, the level of activities was significantly lower. 7. Occupational health nurse's needs: 100% wanted regular education, 89.7% wanted the qualifying examination. As the results, author suggests that the right of self-control is given to occupational health nurses and the work of occupational physician is clearly defined for the induction of the better activities of occupational health nurses.

        Atorvastatin으로 유도된 근위축 세포모델에서 상황-오미자박 고상발효물 열수추출물의 보호효과

        Objectives : This study is to effect of improving muscle atrophy through water extract on the solid-phase fermentation extraction with Phellinus linteus of discarded Schisandra chinensis in an atorvastatin-induced atrophy C2C12 cell. Methods : C2C12 myoblast were differentiated into myotube by 2% horse serum medium for 6 days, and then treated solid-phase fermentation(S-P) extract at different concentrations for 24h. To investigate the effect of S-P extract on the induction of muscle atrophy and expression of atrophy-related genes and apoptosis in differentiated C2C12 myotubes using a GSH, ROS, real-time PCR, western blots analysis. Results : As a result of treatment with atorvastatin at concentrations of 5, 10, and 20 uM on the 6th day of differentiation in C2C12 myotube cells, it was confirmed that the cell morphology was damaged in a concentration-dependent manner, and the length and thickness of the myotube also decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. Treatment with S-P extract (50, 100 and 200 ㎍/㎖) increased of GSH and inhibited ROS in the atorvastatin-induced muscle atrophy cell model at a concentration that did not induce toxicity. In addition, it was confirmed that it has an effect on muscle reduction by inhibiting apoptosis of muscle cells as well as being involved in protein production and degradation of muscle cells. Conclusions : Atorvastatin-induced atrophy C2C12 cell, S-P extract activates related to differentiation/generation and proteolysis, and inhibits cell death of atrophy in C2C12 cell. Based on this, it is necessary to prove its effectiveness through animal models and human application test, but it is considered to be discarded Schisandra chinensis can present the potential for development as a recycling industrial material.
