High Levels of Protein Carboxyl Methyltransferase in Abnormal Tissues and Changes of its Isoenzymes

정상 혈액, 위, 유방조직 및 당뇨병 혈액, 위암, 유방암 조직에서 protein carboxyl methyltransferase의 활성도를 비교 측정하였고, 각각에서 그 isoenzyme의 변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 protein carboxyl methyltransferase의 활성도가 당뇨병 혈액, 위암, 유방암 조직에서 그 정상과 비교해서 약 2-5배 증가됨을 볼 수 있었고 isoenzyme의 분포가 정상과 비정상에서 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 protein carboxyl methyltransferase의 활성도 측정 및 그 isoenzyme의 변화 양상이 질병을 진단하는 데 이용될 가능성을 제시할 수 있다. Protein carboxyl methyltransferase activities were higher in the diabetic blood and the tumors than in their normal tissues. The distributions of protein carboxyl methyltransferase isoenzymes in normal tissues were different from in abnormal tissues. These results suggest the measurements of PCM activity and its isoenzymes offer a possible clinical diagnosis.

Protein carboxyl methyltransferase activities were higher in the diabetic blood and the tumors than in their normal tissues.
