The College of Engineering was specialized to have a sole function for supplying technical high school teachers in 1977 and referred to as the College of Industrial Education according to the Government's policy. The economic impact mainly due to the oil-crises caused a severe problem to this college, namely discrepancy of supply to demand scale. Accordingly the number of student enrollment was to be fluctuated from 479 in 1979 through 800 in 1979 and 900 in 1980 to 430 in 1981. And the engineering departments have been attached to this Engineering Education College since 1981. These circumstanses met singnificant inefficiency in facility operation. This program aims at providing an overall relocation of the college facilities and preparing the practical system to make the joint-operation possible taking into account circulation, academic stream, budget, maintenance, etc. However this study could not get optimal spacing but some trade-off, considering the current situation.

지반반응 곡선을 이용한 터널 해석

In general, the accurate analysis method of stress-strain behaviour of tunnel is not developed yet because of the following difficulties in (1) the estimation of loading conditions around tunnel, (2) the determination of ground-support system interaction. and (3) the selection of relative ground material properties. In NATM, these problem can be complemented by design modification during tunnel excavation. In this study, two FORTRAN programs based upon ground response curve are developed for the estimation of the tunnel crown deformation. And the results are compared with FLAC analysis results. As a results of the study, the ground response curve analysis method using FORTRAN programs are recommended for the simple circular tunnel in homogeneous ground.

신이식에서 이식신의 생존분석

To investigate the prognostic factors for the survival of transplanted kidney in patients with end-stage renal failure, 59 cases of renal transplantation from September 1986 to Feburary 1997 in Chungnam National University Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. The results were as follows: 1)The mean age of recipients was 33.8 years and that of doners was 38.9 years. The male to female ratio of recipients was 2.5:1, and that of donors was 1.03:1 2) Living related donore(LRD) were 79.6% and living non-related donors were 20.3%. The HLA-identical donors(ID) in LRD were 18.7% and HLA-haploidentical donors(HID) were 61.0%. In living non-related donors(LNRD), mean matched HLA-AB antigens were 1.56 and mean matched HLA-DR antigens were 0.56. 3) The average 5-year patient survival fate was 94%, and average 5-year graft survival rate was 70%. The 5-year graft survival fate of HLA-ID was 100%, and those HLA-HID and LNR were 70% and 36% respectively. 4) Total 33 episodes of acute rejection were found in 45.8% of transplanted patients. The number of acute rejection episode did not show significant difference between LRD and LNRD(P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in MLC between two groups(p > 0.05). 5) In comparison between the 18 patients who lost their graft function in 5 years and 17 patients who are maintaining graft function for more than 5 years, MLC was significantly lower in patients with functioning graft than of patients with non-functioning graft (p < 0.05). The number of rejection episode was also lower in patients with functioning graft than that of the patients with non-functioning graft(p < 0.05). However, there were no significant difference in recepient and donor age and history of pre-transplantation donor specific transfusion between two groups. With the results above, we can speculate that adequate donor selection according to good matched HLA typing and low MLC is very important for graft survival in renal transplantation. Prevention and treatment of acute rejection in renal transplantation is also na important factor for graft survival.

Swedish National Food Administration reported that acrylamide was detected in heat treated starch rich food products in April.2002. Acrylamide is considered as potential carcinogen and genotoxicant. It is noticed that formation of acrylamide in potato products was greater than other food products. It may be due to high concentration of asparagine and glucose in potato products comparing to that of other food products resulting in Maillard reaction during heat treatment. Research on acrylamide formation during food processing has been hot issue among other research groups. In this study, general issues on acrylamide in food products including risk assessment, mechanism, toxicity, anallfical method and reduction are discussed.

判別分析을 利用한 道路 交通騷音의 影響 分析

Noise caused by vehicles has been one of serious problem in the developed cities. Because it can bring physical and spiritual problem to passengers and pedestrians. But vehicles can't be eliminated in daily life as they are closely related to the urban activities. Therefore, this study focuses on the analyzing the effect of traffic noise on road by the using Discriminant Analysis. And the result of this study indicates that noise level should be reduced in order to be achieved more environmentally sound traffic.

運轉者 意識分析에 의한 都心地域의 不法駐車對策에 관한 硏究 : 釜山市 西面地域을 中心으로 in Seo-Myeon Area of Pusan

Nowadays, most of cities in Korea are faced with illegal parking problem, however, it is difficult to find out efficient countermeasures. In order to solve this problem, driver's opinions about illegal parking has to be taken into consideration. In this study, a questionnare for drivers in illegal parking in Seo-Myeon area of Pusan was carried out to know the reasons of illegal parking and so on, and was analyzed by the quantification Ⅱ. The summarization of the result in this study is as follows : 1) It was possible to analyze drivers' opinions about illegal parking. 2) Existence of drivers' opinions about illegal parking problem was related to kinds of vehicles and parking purposes. 3) It was necessary to be established and enforced comprehensive illegal parking management.

민간경비 참여 기업의 영역별 활동에 관한 고찰

Crime is one of the eternal factors that is difficult to cure in a human society. Conceptually the fear of crime is an interesting point to sociologists and crinminologists. Most people are concerned about the quality of public security crime prevention. They are skeptical wonder if the police, who is typically ensure the public security, can support basic functions and roles of crime prevention to ensure the safety of citizens. The 9.11 terrorist attack on New York illustrated the vulnerability of traditional systems and recognizes that there are "no safe zone" in the world. The history of private security in Korea is shorter than other countries, U.S and Japan, etc. The development of private security in Korea began 1960s, and has show hasty development in the early 1980s. At that moment, national events and festivals such as the Asian Games and Olympic Games stimulated the development of Korean private security industry, Relatively the Korean private security market is in the beginning phase. Most private security companies in Korea cooperate with foreign security companies. As matter of fact, the policy of private security in Korea has been affected by the adaption of foreign policy. This study is limited to small private security companies. We will try to compare private security activities, mainly to larger companies and arrange and suggest related the goals of private security regulations and implementation of private security operations.

電子式 船荷證券의 問題點에 관한 一考察

The purpose of this study is to examine the expected legal problems when a current bill of lading as a paper document is replaced by a electronic bill of lading in the near future. Our law and international rules or conventions about ED1 message, international transportation and payment are used as the tools of this analysis. Problems may be divided into three catagolies ;evidential issues, negotiability and key station. Furthermore the evidential issues can be classified into the admissibility in court authentification and formal problems. I tried to find any legal obstacles for these problems in common law and civil law jurisdiction. Electronic bill of lading has been proved not to be inconsistent with both jurisdictions. New international rules regarding EDI message and the liability of parties in operating electronic message have been almost enacted to meet above problems. What is important now is a general recognition for the necessity of commercial use in practice, for which a sea waybill may be used for the time being. Traders, who wish to use the electronic bill of lading in practice, would be advisable to insert a concrete clause in their contracts to eliminate any legal problems until both parties can fully understand the complex local and international rules and legal systems.

HUVEC 세포에서 MMP-2 의 분비에 미치는 성장인자의 효과

Vascular endothelial cells release proteinase that degrade the extracellular matrix, thus enabling cell migration during angiogenesis and vasculogenesis. Endothelial cells secrete mainly the proform of matrix rnetalloproteinase-2. Matrix metalloproteinase-2 is Zn^2+ dependent protease produced by a variety of cell types. They have a fundamental role in tissue remodelling, tumour invasion and metastasis. The purpose of this study was to test if growth factors, such as angiopoietin-1, bFGF and VEGF can regulate the secretion of MMPs by endothelial cells. Of these growth factors, we found that VEGF is the strongest inducer of MMP-2 secretion. Both angiopoietin-1 and bFGF also induced the secretion of the MMP-2. VEGF induced MMP-2 secretion in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Pretreatment with phosphatidylinositol 3'-kinase inhibitors had no effect. NF-kB inhibitor, PDTC changed significantly the level of MMP-2 secretion from the cell. These results indicate that MMP-2 stimulates normal cell proliferation, wound healing and tissue remodelling in endothelial cells.
