        도농간 고령보행자 교통사망사고에 미치는 영향요인 비교분석 : 충청남도를 중심으로

        This study analyzed the determinants of elderly pedestrian fatal crash in urban and rural areas. Using Traffic Cop Information Management System (TCS), this study conducted literature reviews related to pedestrian crash as well as elderly pedestrian crash and then analyzed the determinants of elderly pedestrian fatal crash in Chungnam Province for comparative analysis between urban and rural areas. Analysis results were as follows. First, the age-sensitive traffic fatality of elderly pedestrians in rural areas was 0.9% higher than that in urban areas. Second, drivers’ factors in urban areas are more important factors than that in rural areas for elderly pedestrian fatal crash. Third, the traffic fatality of elderly pedestrians at night was 0.7 times lower in urban areas than that in rural areas. Finally, signals in urban areas and road linearity in rural areas were identified as the facility factors that most influence traffic fatality of elderly pedestrians. These results could provide a useful criterion for advanced transportation operation system considered the characteristics of traffic fatality of elderly pedestrians between urban and rural areas.

        보행밀도를 고려한 보행전용존 폭의 연구

        PURPOSES : This study aims to propose widths of pedestrian zones considering the characteristics of sidewalk areas, pedestrian volumes, and pedestrian density. METHODS : We derived a pedestrian zone formula considering the maximum pedestrian volumes, mean intervals between pedestrians (pedestrian density), occupancy widths of pedestrians, and average speed of pedestrians. We compare the widths obtained using the formula with the existing Korean standards. RESULTS: Considering the pedestrian volumes and density, the pedestrian zone widths of neighborhood main sidewalk areas are determined to be 1.4~4.5 m, whereas those of commercial sidewalk areas are determined to be 1.4~2.9 m. CONCLUSIONS: Existing Korean regulations and guidelines provide a uniform standard sidewalk width. However, this study proposed a formula for determining pedestrian zone widths considering pedestrian volumes, characteristics of the sidewalk area, and pedestrian density.

        도시 보행환경 분석을 통한 연령 계층별 공원 접근성 분석

        This study aims to conduct an accessibility analysis of parks based on the disposition distance, utilizing derived service area values. To obtain the service area values for individual parks, First, Classified age groups and caculated a average walking speed. Secondly, Established a pedestrian network of Jeonju City. Thirdly, Integrated slope and walking resistance as pedestrian resistance factors into the constructed pedestrian network. Employing these datasets, network analysis was performed to derive service areas considering age-specific speeds and those incorporating walking resistance factors. To illustrate significant differences between the formed service areas and quantified them as ratios based on the legal disposition distance area. The analysis results show that in networks where walking resistance factors are not considered, there is a minimum decrease of –4.1% and a maximum decrease of –53.4% in service area for the young aged compared to the service area determined by the disposition distance area. A more pronounced decrease in the service area ratio is observed among the elderly, ranging from a minimum of –23.9% to a maximum of –69.4%. Furthermore, in networks where resistance factors are considered, both the young aged and the elderly experience a decrease in service area by approximately 2-3% compared to scenarios where resistance factors are not taken into account. Based on the outcomes of this study, it is evident that the existing legally disposition distance area represents merely the average value of straight-line distance, devoid of considerations for diverse factors such as age groups and walking resistance. If current institutional practices persist, the reduction in service area will escalate relative to age groups and over time. This study serves to visually and numerically underscore the necessity for a paradigm shift in institutional measures, advocating for the consideration of age groups and walking resistance factors in catchment area determination within the realm of urban planning.

        東大門 大規模 流通商業施設 立地地域의 步行環境類型에 따른 步行人의 認知特性分析

        In this study, we investigated to understand characteristics of pedestrian environment in Dong-Daemun market area and cognitive characteristics of pedestrians moving path. And then, correlation between factors affecting on pedestrian environment and cognitive characteristics of pedestrians was analyzed. As the results, it was found that pedestrians had not any general evaluation criteria for pedestrian environment and pedestrian space and recognized as the various pedestrian environments by the convenience of the individual purpose. At the study area, variation of a floating population from the viewpoint of the time is larger. But, such variation of a floating population affected a slightly different on the pedestrian space of the place, and cognitive pedestrian evaluate it at various viewpoint.

        Proposal for the Generation of Network Data for Pedestrians in South Korea Using Large-Scale Maps

        As a pedestrian navigation system becomes popular recently, there have been demands on generating network data for pedestrians with a high Level of Detail (LOD) efficiently. To meet on demands, we proposed a new approach to delineate network data for pedestrians with a high LOD for commercial routing services. We set out to clearly redefine walking areas where pedestrians can move freely based on previous research. Next, we present a method to extract walking areas after analysing relationships between walking areas and objects of large-scale maps. Network data for pedestrians are then generated by vectorizing the extracted walking areas with considering visibility of pedestrians and pedestrian movement characteristics and finally merging them. In the evaluation, we can identify that extracted walking areas reflect the real world and network data that are generated by the proposed method have a high LOD, which is available in commercial routing services for a pedestrian.

        노인보호구역의 보행환경요소 분석

        (연구배경 및 목적) 경제 성장과 의료기술의 발달로 인해 평균 수명이 길어짐에 따라 노인 인구가 점점 늘어나고 있다. 본 연구는 노인 보행 사고를 줄이기 위해 노인보호구역을 지정 및 시행하고 있지만, 노인 보행사고는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 노인 보행자 사고를 줄이기 위해서 노인에게 적합한 보행환경으로 개선되어야 한다는 목적으로 노인 보행환경의 이론적 고찰을 통해 보행환경 평가요소를 도출하고 노인보호구역의 현장조사를 통해 문제점에 대한 개선 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. (연구방법) 본 연구에서는 보행환경과 노인보행과 관련한 선행 연구를 통해 보행환경 요소를 도출한다. 선행연구를 통해 고찰한 내용을 바탕으로 노인보호구역 보행 요소의 체크리스트를 도출하고 이를 바탕으로 노인보호구역을 현장 조사하고 이를 분석하고 결론을 도출한다. (결과) 이에 본 연구에서는 보행환경을 보도환경, 도로환경, 가로시설물, 주변외관으로 나누어 체크리스트를 도출하였다. 6곳의 노인보호구역의 보행요소를 분석한 결과 주변외관이 가장 양호하고, 그 다음으로 보도환경, 가로시설물, 도로환경, 순이었다. 가로시설물은 보도벤치 설치가 미흡하였다. 벤치 설치는 노인들에게 보행 중 휴식을 제공하는 기능을 하기 때문에 보행로에 벤치를 마련하거나 보행로 곳곳에 앉을 수 있는 시설물을 설치로 보완되어야 한다. 도로환경의 경우 속도저감 시설 설치와 과속단속카메라 설치가 미흡하였다. 보행자에게 과속차량은 치명적이고 보행사고로 이어질 수 있으므로 속도저감시설과 과속단속카메라를 설치하여 운전자가 보행자의 보행에 유의할 수 있도록 보완되어야 한다. (결론) 기존에 노인보행환경에 관련한 연구들이 몇몇 진행되었으나 노인보호구역을 중심으로 보행환경을 평가한 연구가 거의 없고, 현재도 노인보호구역을 새롭게 지정하고 있다는 점에서 본 연구가 노인보호구역 시행 시 유용한 기초 자료로 쓰일 것이라고 예상할 수 있다. 따라서 향후 연구에서는 사례대상의 수를 늘려 보행환경을 평가할 필요가 있고, 노인보호환경을 보행하는 노인들에게 직접 인터뷰를 하는 등으로 평가방식을 보완하여 더 좋은 노인보호구역 환경을 조성하는데 이바지할 수 있다. (Background and Purpose) As the average life expectancy increases due to economic growth and the development of medical technology, the elderly population is increasing. Although this study designates and implements protection zones for the elderly to reduce walking accidents, the number of elderly walking accidents is steadily increasing. In this study, with the aim of improving the walking environment suitable for the elderly in order to reduce pedestrian accidents, the objective of this study was to suggest a direction for improvement of problems through theoretical considerations of the elements of the walking environment and the walking environment for the elderly and field surveys of the elderly protection area. In this study, the elements of the walking environment are derived through previous studies related to the walking environment and walking for the elderly. Based on the contents considered through previous studies, a checklist of walking elements in the elderly protection area is derived, and based on this, the elderly protection area is surveyed, analyzed, and conclusions are drawn. (Results) As a result of evaluating the six elderly protection areas, the surrounding exterior was the best, followed by sidewalk environment, street facilities, and road environment. The installation of sidewalk benches for street facilities was insufficient. Since the installation of benches serves to provide the elderly with a rest while walking, it will be necessary to provide benches on the sidewalk or to install facilities where they can sit on the sidewalk. In the case of road environment, the installation of speed cameras were insufficient. Speeding vehicles are fatal to pedestrians and can lead to pedestrian accidents. Therefore, speed reduction facilities and speed cameras should be installed. (Conclusions) In the past, several studies related to walking environment for the elderly have been conducted, but there are few studies that evaluated the walking environment focused on the elderly protection area. This study can be expected that it will be used as a useful basic data when implementing the elderly protection zone. Therefore, in future studies, it is necessary to evaluate the walking environment by increasing the number of case subjects, and it is possible to contribute to creating a better environment for the elderly protection area by supplementing the evaluation method by directly interviewing the elderly walking in the elderly protection environment.

        도시 저층주거지역의 육아친화 보행환경 조성 연구

        Urban low-rise residential area's ‘pedestrian environment’ requires various and active improvements to supportchildcare, such as safe movement, various activities, and efficient connection to facilities for children and parents. The purposeof this study is to propose a plan to create and improve a 'childcare-friendly pedestrian environment' that positively affectschildren and parents in physical and social aspects to support childcare at urban low-rise residential area. The main researchmethods of this study are a review of previous studies and a survey of 233 parents. The conclusions of this study are asfollows. First, it is necessary to improve the environment of safety-based walking paths to facilitate ‘activity support’ in order tocreate a ‘childcare-friendly pedestrian environment’ for urban low-rise residential areas. Second, it is necessary to improve‘space connection’ functions such as ‘connecting children and childcare facilities’ and ‘connecting natural environments’ in orderto create ‘childcare-friendly pedestrian environment’. Third, in order to create a ‘childcare-friendly pedestrian environment’, it isnecessary to support ‘accident prevention’ on the walking path from a social perspective through ‘maintenance and improvementof operation methods’. Fourth, in order to create a 'childcare-friendly pedestrian environment', it is necessary to support'accident prevention' of pedestrian paths through 'improvement of pedestrian facilities' and 'designation and indication of safetyzones'. Fifth, in order to create a 'childcare-friendly pedestrian environment', 'child facility crime prevention' and 'integratedinstallation of crime prevention' should be considered for the purpose of 'crime prevention'. On the other hand, considering thecurrent status of the region, it is possible to propose the type of 'walk safety-based spatial connection' and the type of 'activitysupport-based theme specialization' to improve the childcare-friendly environment.

        대구광역시의 고령자 보행취약지역 도출 및 안전성 측면에서의 보행환경 평가

        The purpose of this study is to derive vulnerable areas for elderly pedestrians and evaluate the pedestrian environments in terms of safety in Daegu. In order to derive vulnerable areas, density-based clustering and hotspot analyses are performed, and the pedestrian environments is evaluated for the derived areas. The evaluation items are classified into street environment and walking network environment, for a total selection of 22 detailed items. The results of deriving vulnerable areas for elderly pedestrians are Cluster 3 (around Daegu Station and Chilseong Market Station) and Cluster 4 (around Daegu-Gonggo Intersection). In addition, the vulnerable areas are evaluated at a low level for the level of illegal parking, existence and adequacy of resting spaces and information signs, and adequacy and condition of pedestrian safety facilities. Also, there is a need to improve the items of the crossing facility and openness of lower floors. Through this, it is expected that the research can be used as basic data for creating a safe pedestrian environment for the elderly in the future. 본 논문은 대구광역시를 대상으로 고령자 보행취약지를 도출하고 안전성 측면에서의 보행환경을 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 밀도기반 군집과 핫스팟분석을 실시하여 보행취약지를 도출하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 보행환경을 평가하였다. 평가항목은 크게 가로환경 및 보행네트워크 환경 아래에 총 22개의 세부항목을 선정하였다. 분석결과, 군집 3(대구역 및 칠성시장역 일대)과 군집 4(대구공고네거리 일대)가 고령자 보행취약지로 나타났다. 한편, 보행취약지에 대한 보행환경 평가결과는 가로환경의 불법주정차 수준, 휴식공간 유무 및 적정성, 보행안전시설 적정성 및 상태, 안내표지판 유무 및 적정성, 횡단보도 상태, 신호등 유무 및 상태, 저층부 개방감 등의 항목에서 전반적으로 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 보행네트워크 환경에서는 A-1구역(대구역 일대)과 A-2구역(칠성시장역 일대)의 환경이 비교적 열악한 것으로 보였으며, 특히 보행장애물 수준, 도로 끊김 수준에 대한 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 향후 안전한 고령자의 보행환경 조성을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있음을 기대한다.

        도보는 인류문명의 발전에 기초가 된 인간의 기능 중 한가지이다. 도보 능력은 먼저 마을을 만들고 인류의 도시 패턴을 만들었다. 도시는 보행자의 편의와 행복한 삶을 위해 건설되었다. 하지만 기존의 도시는 물질문명이 발달한 이후의 급 속한 차량증가와 인구로 북적거리게 되었다. 한편, 보행자 공간은 도시 지역에서 소외되고 있다. 본 연구는 도심 가로변 보행공간 특성과 이에 대한 개선방향을 제시하고자 함으로써 다음의 방향을 택하였다. 첫째, 문헌조사 및 고찰에 의하여 보행 공간의 의의와 문제점을 찾아내어 이들과 보행자 행태에 영향을 미치는 주위환경과의 관계를 규명하고, 둘째, 보행자의 공간영역(신체적, 심리적) 및 보행특성, 서비스 수준 등을 조사하여 쾌적한 보행공간으로의 개선에 대한 기초자료로 하며, 셋 째, 실지 조사에 의한 자료와 위의 문헌조사를 근거로 하여 여러 제안을 추출하여 그 중에서 가장 적합한 최선의 대안을 제 시하는 방안을 택한다. Walking is one of human functions and has been the base of the development of human civilization. Walking ability had made the first village and urban pattern of the mankind. Cities had been constructed for pedestrian's convenience and happy life. But conventional cities have been crowded by the rapid increasing vehicles and population since material civilization had developed. On the other hand, pedestrian space has been neglected urban districts. Chose this study to suggest a direction for improvement by following the direction of the city characteristics and roadside pedestrian space. 1. Investigate the relationship and the significance and problems of pedestrian space by finding survey of the literature and discussion with those that affect the behavior of the pedestrian environment around. 2. For a comfortable pedestrian space on the improvement of the pedestrian area of space (physical and psychological) and gait characteristics, service levels and basic data. 3. Chose how to extract the most appropriate of the best alternatives presented several proposals based on the above survey of the literature data and field survey.

      • 보행중심 도로환경 구축방법 연구 : 충남 금산읍 사례분석

        The Korean Ministry of Security and Public Administration enacted the Acts for highway pedestrian safety and comfort, based on social paradigm shifting from vehicle- to pedestrian-friendly highway environment. While it initiated local government policies supporting pedestrian-oriented environment, no practical guideline to establish the environment was available. This study proposes a comprehensive guideline devised based on the to-do items from the Acts to establish pedestrian-friendly environment. It includes diagnoses on existing highway conditions and interview surveys on public opinion to quantify local willingness to accept the target environment – the results can support decisions made on modification of the existing pedestrian streets. The proposed guideline was implemented as a pilot study in the city of Guemsan, Chungnam. The findings suggested that a combined survey on pedestrian environment and public works enhanced the efficiency of pedestrian-friendly environment establishment.
