재즈클럽 야누스를 통한 한국 모던 재즈 씬의 전개에 관한 연구

본 연구는 국내에서 상설 재즈 공연을 선보였던 재즈클럽 야누스를 통한 한국의 모던 재즈 씬의 전개 과정을 고찰하고, 그 역사적·문화적 의미를 제시 하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 본 연구는 야누스 재즈 동우회의 멤버들을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 역사적 의미로는 야누스가 오픈한 1978년에 이르러서야 국내에서 재즈가 독자적인 연주 양식의 음악 장르라는 인식이 형성되기 시작되었다는 것이다. 또한 야누스 재즈 동우회는 국내에 모던 재즈의 연주 방식을 정착시키고, 정기연주회를 통해 한국적 정서에 입각하여 창작된 코리안 재즈 스탠더드를 보급하여 재즈의 현지화를 시도하였다. 다음은 문화적 의미로서 야누스는 연주인들이 재즈연주에 대한 관심과 욕구를 표출하기 힘들었던 당시 국내의 문화적 여건 속에서 정기음악회를 통해 재즈 연주의 저변을 확산시켰을 뿐만 아니라, 정기연주 회를 통해 재즈 2세대를 배출하며 한국 모던 재즈 씬의 흐름을 이어나갔다. The purpose of this study is for the consideration of the development of Korean modern jazz scene through the jazz club Janus which showed a regular jazz performance to the public in Korea. In order to achieve this, this study implemented a qualitative interview to the main members who hosted the regular concert of Janus jazz association of the jazz club Janus. The result of this study is the as following. First, there is a historical significance that people did not start to think that the Jazz is a music genre which has a unique and its own music until 1978 when the club Janus opened. In addition, The Janus jazz association established the performance format of the modern jazz in Korea, distributed the Korean Jazz standard, which is created according to the Korean sentiment, therefore implemented the localization of modern jazz in Korea. Second, There is also a cultural significance that the players in Janus not only expanded the base of the jazz performance through the Janus regular concerts when they were hard to express their attention and desire for the jazz performance, but also appointed the second generation of the jazz who was the successor of the Korean modern jazz scene.

Janus to Core-Shell to Janus: Facile Cation Movement in Cu_2-<i>x</i>S/Ag₂S Hexagonal Nanoplates Induced by Surface Strain Control

<P>Nanocrystals with multiple compositions and heterointerfaces have received great attention due to promising multifunctional and synergistic physicochemical properties. In particular, heterointerfaces have been at the focal point of nanocatalyst research because the strain caused by lattice mismatches between different phases is the dominant determinant of surface energy and catalytic activity. The ensemble effects of different material phases have also contributed to the interest in heterointerfaced multicomponent materials. Until now, heterointerfaces have largely been regarded as static, and the dynamic movement of components within the multicomponent material phases has received little attention, although the dynamic movement of individual components within multicomponent materials can revise the interpretation of the catalytic behaviors of these materials and lead to fascinating opportunities for nanostructure synthesis. In this study, we demonstrate unprecedented cation migrations within a sulfide matrix induced by surface strain modulation initiated by cation exchange. Specifically, Cu and Ag cations in the sulfide matrix were initially segregated to form a Janus structure. This Janus configuration was then transformed into a core-shell Cu<SUB>2-<I>x</I></SUB>S@Ag<SUB>2</SUB>S structure <I>via</I> surface Pt doping. When the surface strain was relieved by a reduced Pt concentration at the nanoparticle surface, the core-shell transitioned back into a Janus structure. We expect that the facile composition fluctuations in multiphasic nanostructures will expand synthetic methodologies for the design and synthesis of intricate nanostructures with useful physicochemical properties.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Two‐dimensional Janus group‐III ternary chalcogenide monolayer compounds B 2 XY , Al 2 XY , and BAlX 2 (X, Y = S, Se, Te) with high carrier mobilities

First-principles approach based on density functional theory is employed in order to investigate the structural, electronic, and mechanical properties of the two-dimensional Janus group-III ternary chalcogenide monolayer (G3TCM) semiconductor series, B2XY, Al2XY, and BAlX2 (X, Y = S, Se, Te; X ≠ Y). The effective masses, band gaps, and carrier mobilities of the entire series of Janus G3TCM compounds are evaluated to comprehensively examine their feasibility as an ingredient in nanoscale electronic device. All the G3TCM compounds proposed in this study are suggested to be realizable based on phonon calculations and estimated mechanical stability. The indirect bandgap of B2XY and Al2 XY can be switched to direct bandgap in BAlX2 by constructing Janus-type structure using group-III elements. The computationally obtained carrier mobilities according to the deformation potential theory indicated that B2SSe and BAlSe2 have exceptional electron and hole carrier mobility of 2.02 104 and 2.58 105 cm2 V1 s1, respectively, at room temperature.

미국 증권법상 SEC Rule 10b-5와 Scheme Liability에 관한 최근 판례연구

2019년 미국 연방대법원의 Lorenzo 판결에서는, 비록 Rule 10b-5(b) 하에서 부실공시서류를 직접 작성하지는(make) 않았다고 하더라도 부실공시서류라는 사실을 인식하면서 투자자에게 유포하였다면 소위 ‘위계에 의한 공동책임(scheme liability)’을 부담한다고 함으로써 책임의 범위를 확장시켰다. 이러한 연방대법원의 결정은 SEC가 제기한 집행사건(enforcement cases)에서보다 오히려 일반 민사소송(private civil action)에 더 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 보인다. 왜냐하면 이전에도 SEC는 부실서류의 작성자의 행위를 도와주는 단순한 “disseminator”에 대하여 소송을 제기하는 것이 가능하였지만, ‘aiding and abetting liability’는 소위 2차적 책임(secondary liability)이기 때문에 사인의 민사소송에서는 가능하지 않았기 때문이다. 이러한 연방대법원의 판결은, 사기적인 문서로 인한 Rule 10b-5 위반행위에 대하여 그러한 문서의 작성자(maker)에게 주된 책임(primary liability)이 있다고 판결한 2011년 Janus판결과 반대되는 것이라는 점에서 그 의미가 적지 않다. Janus사건에서 피고가 책임을 벗어나게 된 이유는, Rule 10b-5(b) 하의 부실표시를 작성한 자(maker)가 아니라, 단지 타인에 의해 그러한 부실표시가 준비되고 유포된 것에 관여했을 뿐이기 때문이라는 점 때문인데, 따라서 어떠한 행위가 ‘작성’의 범주에 포함되는 것인지가 책임발생에 있어서 중요하게 되었다. Since the Central Bank of Denver ruling, the US Supreme Court had held that individual plaintiffs may not file a lawsuit on the basis of the ‘scheme liability.’ In 2008, the Stoneridge Court held that it was not possible to impose a liability based on scheme liability to those who assisted in improper disclosure. 2 years later, in the case of PIMCO, the Second Court of Appeals held that the law firm or attorney had actually prepared the disclosure documents, and in that case the lawyer or attorney had the disclosure obligation. In Janus, the Supreme Court held that only a person who had ultimate authority over a misstatement may be held liable under Rule 10b-5(b), which prohibits the making of fraudulent statements. In Lorenzo v. SEC, the Supreme Court held that someone who disseminates a false or misleading statement, made by another person, can be primarily liable for participating in a fraudulent scheme. The ruling expands the scope of securities-fraud claims that can be brought by the SEC and particularly by private plaintiffs. The SEC and private parties may, in different settings, attempt to rely on the Lorenzo decision to pursue Rule 10b-5(a) and (c) claims against persons who did not ‘make’ the statements at issue, but who knowingly disseminated the statements with the intent to defraud investors. The ruling in Lorenzo may diminish the importance of Janus decision as a limitation on liability in misstatement cases, although the Court assumed both knowledge of material falsity and the intent to defraud.

Synthesis of Visible-light-driven, Janus-type TiO₂ Micromotors Hybridized with Conjugated Polyelectrolyte and Glucose Oxidase

Photoactivated nano- and micromotors that use light as their primary power source are promising issue in the field of motors. To date, IR and UV light have been used in most cases. In this study, we synthesized visible-light-driven TiO₂ Janus micromotors (JMs) hybridized with conjugated polyelectrolyte and glucose oxidase (GOx) for photocatalytic activity and dynamic motion. The JMs were prepared by the wax-in-water Pickering emulsion method. The GOx, that can decompose glucose and produce hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), was immobilized in the TiO₂ hemisphere. In the other hemisphere, water-soluble conjugated polymer (WSP), photoactive substances, having ability to absorb visible light was immobilized. The WSP can decompose H₂O₂ produced by the breakdown of glucose under visible light. As a result, JMs can move with faster speed under visible light with a diffusiophoretic mechanism by synergistic decomposition of glucose and H₂O₂.

드러내기와 "감추기", 야누스적 디오니소스의 세계 -『폭풍의 언덕』과 『주홍글자』를 중심으로

Dionysus is the god of the grape harvest, wine-making, and wine of ritual madness and ecstasy. Also Dionysus is represented as the protector of those who do not belong to conventional society and thus symbolizes everything which is chaotic, dangerous, unexpected, everything which escapes human reason and which can only be attributed to the unforeseeable action of the gods. Dionysian orgiastic ritual, Bacchanalia, is described to be violent, destructive, and erotic in Rene Girard`s La Violence et le Sacre: Violence and The Sacred because the obstacles such as Sexual, Age Difference and the difference between the rich and the poor disappear through the ritual but soon it becomes bloody. In this regard, Ritual Dionysus has negative and positive features. Main characters in Wuthering Heights and The Scarlet Letter show these dualities: Positive and Negative attributes, Good and Evil, Keeping and Breaking of social order, Showing and Hiding of intrinsic desires. Heathcliff`s and Chilingworth`s revenge spoil and transform their own physical and psychological attributes as well as their enemies who destroy their territories in which oneness is between them and their lovers, Catherine and Hester. The fundamental reason that changes happen in both works is from provocative sexual deviance which means the destruction of social norm. That is to say, two societies in both works have the dualities of Janus-like Dionysus. These dualities, keeping and breaking of order, are represented by "Showing and Hiding" Even though the superficial atmosphere of each society shows differences, both have similar features: the co-existence of Positive and Negative attributes to make ``Artificial Paradise``, ``De-Civilizational society``, Also these attributes happen as concealment and exposure.

개혁주의 입장에서 본 신명기 5장의 모세의 설교

Traditionally the Book of Deuteronomy has been appreciated from the perspective of Moses' farewell speech or sermon. In the same vein, in this study, the present writer treats Deuteronomy 5 as a unit of Moses' sermon. Yet, as a reformed preacher, he wants to emphasize the following three aspects seen in Dt. 5. Above all, Moses' sermon is a paragon of "indicative + imperative" pattern. That is to say, Moses emphasizes what God did for the Israelites before requesting what they do as God's redeemed people. Many Korean Christians are accustomed to the statement that the Old Testament is filled with law, while the New Testament is filled with grace. But such an argument must be abandoned. From Genesis on, the Bible is all but grace for the present writer. Moses clearly emphasizes God's redeeming grace as seen in the prologue of the Decalogue: "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery"(v. 6). This historical action precedes God's requirements, that is, the Ten Words. This is the kernel of Deuteronomy 5. Yet, alas! Many Korean hymnals omit or makes light of the prologue. Preachers must understand that God never urges us to do something as a prerequisite of our redemption. Next, Moses' sermon is application-oriented. Sermon is not a lecture, but a speech act evoking the audience's decision. To that end, Moses employs the adverb "today," which opens a new path to the history of Israel in the future. What the Israelites decide to do determines the future of Israel. Today is a moment of Janus. In other words, today links the past of Israel to the future of her. Also, Moses emphasizes the role of the audience for the history of Israel. They are the audience of Janus. Thus, Moses repeats the pronoun "you." Last, Moses' sermon is a paragon of identification. Kenneth Burke, an American rhetorician, states that without identification, there is no persuasion. The purpose of a sermon appears to persuade an audience to a certain direct of decision-making. But unless the defending mechanism of an audience is disarmed, a speech has no effect. That is, a speaker and the audience is to be one. If the audience is hostile to the speaker, the message is merely a noise as we experience everyday. To build that identification, Moses aptly uses the pronoun "we"(vv. 2-3). Thus, the present writer argues that shifts from "we" to "you" occur not due to different editors but due to Moses' rhetorical intention. Moses, the man of God, emphasizes the divine grace and urges our decision- making. Yet, he tries to be one with his audience. Moses is the model of the reformed preachers.

논문 : 드라마의 표절 및 저작권침해 판단의 실제적 적합성에 관한 연구

본 연구는 드라마에서의 표절과 저작권 침해의 문제에 초점을 두고 연구하되, 표절 및 저작권 침해의 법적 판단기준이 되는 의거와 실질적 유사성의 문제를 명확히 하고 이에 기반하여, 드라마 표절들에 대한 사례분석을 실시하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 기존의 선행논문들과 판례 그리고 인터넷 검색을 통해 언론에 보도된 드라마 표절 관련 기사를 분석하면서 드라마 표절에 대해 연구하고자 한다. 뿐만 아니라 김순옥의 <아내의 유혹>과 정혜경의 <야누스의 도시>를 구체적으로 분석해 보고, 이를 근거로 현실적 적합성을 갖는 표절 제재 및 저작권침해 방지를 위한 방향을 제시해 보고자 한다. Drama`s plagiarism and copyright infringment rapidly changed our cultural environment. So, I intend to study plagiarism and copyright infringement in the drama. Especially I focuses on the problem in plagiarism and copyright infringement in accordance with the legal criteria that are clearly the issue of access and substantial similarity. So, I will clarify the issue of access and substantial similarity. And I analyzed drama cases about plagiarism. To do this, I searched the existing precedent of the leading papers, the Internet and media analysis of articles related to plagiarism reported in the drama. And I analyzed <Seduction of his wife> and <City of Janus>. And I will propose a realistic way with fitness for sanctions of plagiarism prevention.

다른 언어와의 비교를 통한 한국어 동철대립어 연구

Janus word refers to the word that has the same form(spelling) but the opposite meaning semantically. There is a lack of Typological or Comparative Linguistic studies on Janus words in previous researches. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the Janus words of various languages together. In this paper, firstly the terms indicating the situation that the word has the same spelling but opposite meaning in English, Chinese, and Korean were summarized. And this phenomenon is called ‘Dongchul-opposite’ in Korean(‘Dongchul’ means the same spelling) from the viewpoint of this paper. Next the reason why the homonymous word is included as Janus word was discussed. Janus words can be divided into ‘homonymous Janus words’ and ‘polysemous Janus words’. The difference between them is that in the former case, the etymology is different but the spelling is same, while in the latter case, there are some relations between the various meanings. There are considerable examples in lots of languages, and some examples were explained in detail especially in the case of Korean. It reveals that the Janus words exist extensively in isolated language, agglutinative language, and inflected language. The existence of Janus words is unique, but it seems to be a universal phenomenon because it is found in many languages. Therefore, it is necessary to study the Janus words of more languages as future work. ‘동철대립어’란 철자가 같지만 의미적으로는 대립의 의미를 갖는 단어를 가리킨다. 한국어 동철대립어에 대한 기존 연구들에서는 한국어만 대상으로 삼았으며 외국어를 대상으로 한 연구들 역시 한국어에 대해서는 언급한 바가 없어 유형론적이나 대조언어학적 연구가 부족하다. 따라서 여러 언어의 동철대립어를 함께 검토하는 연구가 필요하다. 본고에서는 먼저 영어, 중국어, 한국어에서 철자가 같고 의미가 대립되는 현상을 가리키는 용어를 정리하였다. 본고의 입장에서는 철자가 같고 의미가 대립되는 점을 중요시하여 이를 ‘동철대립어’로 명명한다. 그 다음은 동음이의어를 동철대립어로 포함하는 근거를 논의하였다. 이들 동음이의어는 어원이 다르지만 현재에는 철자가 같고 의미가 대립된다는 측면에서 동철대립어에 포함한다는 것이다. 동철대립어는 ‘동음이의어인 동철대립어’와 ‘다의어인 동철대립어’로 나눌 수 있다. 동음이의어와 다의어의 차이는 전자의 경우 어원은 다르지만 우연히 철자가 같은 것이고, 후자의 경우는 여러 의미 간에 연관이 있는 것이다. 여러 언어에서 동철대립어의 예를 찾을 수 있다. 본고에서 이들 예시를 제시하고 특히 한국어의 예시를 위주로 구체적으로 설명하였다. 동철대립어는 고립어, 교착어, 굴절어에 모두 존재하는 것이다. 동철대립어의 존재는 특이하지만 여러 언어에서 발견되기 때문에 언어 보편적인 현상일 가능성이 크다. 이를 논증하기 위해 앞으로 더 많은 언어의 동철대립어를 연구할 필요가 있다.

Harmonization of DNA codes and expressed proteins using Janus particle

The Janus particle has been attracted because the particle can be conjugated with different functional groups on each hemisphere. However, the practical application of the Janus particle was extremely rare without Janus printing and some cascade catalysts. Here, we introduce practical application of Janus particle as harmonization of geno- and pheno-type of protein on single particle. The Janus platform was successively fabricated via Pt-sputtering on the amino-silane treated silica sphere. DNA including green fluorescence protein (GFP) and streptavidin-binding protein (SBP) sequence was conjugated with one side of the Janus particle via thiol-metal conjugation. And then, the other side of the particle was covered with streptavidin by EDC/NHs coupling. The specific DNA of protein was expressed in emulsion using in-vitro expression. The GFP can conjugated with the other side of Janus particle by the SBP. As the results, the Janus particle could be applied to DNA screening platform.
