Association of amphiphilic block copolymers in dilute solution: With and without shear forces
Zahra Hosseini,Kiyumars Jalili,Sanam Rajabnia,Leila Behboodpour,Farhang Abbasi 한국공업화학회 2019 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.72 No.-
The goal of this study is to investigate the self-assembly of block copolymers in aqueous solution and onlinedemonstration of the morphology transition of micelles under shearflow upon changing thetemperature via rheological measurements. To this end, a series of poly(ethylene glycol)-blockpolycaprolactonecopolymers with variable block ratios and degree of polymerization was synthesizedvia ring opening polymerization of e-caprolactone in the presence of methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)macroinitiator (Mn2000 g/mol), and the ensuing nanoobject assemblies were scrutinized by smallangleneutron scattering. We take advantage of solution rheology control to understand the micellartransition route of amphiphlies.

Zahra Hosseini,Hadi Ghaedi,Mozhgan Ahmadi,Seyed Ali Hosseini 대한비만학회 2020 The Korean journal of obesity Vol.29 No.4
Background: Exercise conducted simultaneously with the consumption of herbal supplements is one of the suggested methods for controlling obesity and its complications. The present study sought to investigate the lipid-lowering effects of concurrent training and green tea (GT) consumption in overweight women. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 40 overweight women were selected and stratified into four groups: control (C), GT, concurrent training+placebo (TP), and concurrent training+GT (three tablets containing 500 mg of GT per week; T+GT) groups. Both the TP and T+GT groups performed exercise three sessions per week for 8 weeks. Fasting blood samples were collected before and 48 hours after the last training session. Results: Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in the T+GT (P=0.03) and TP (P=0.001) groups were significantly decreased relative to in the GT group and were significantly decreased in the T+GT group relative to in the TP group (P=0.001). Meanwhile, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in the T+GT group were significantly increased as compared with in the GT (P=0.01), TP (P=0.03), and C (P=0.04) groups. Finally, total cholesterol levels in the T+GT group were decreased significantly as compared with in the TP, GT, and C groups (P=0.001) and triglyceride levels in the T+GT, TP, and GT groups were significantly increased as compared with in the C group (P=0.001). Conclusion: Exercise performed simultaneously with GT consumption in comparison with either alone has a greater effect on improving the lipid profile in overweight women.

Zahra Sadat Hosseini,Jafar Amani,Fahimeh Baghbani Arani,Shahram Nazarian,Mohammad Javad Motamedi,Fatemeh Shafighian 대한백신학회 2018 Clinical and Experimental Vaccine Research Vol.7 No.1
Purpose: Escherichia coli O157:H7 is one of the most important pathogens which create hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic uremic syndrome in human. It is one of the most prevalent causes of diarrhea leading to death of many people every year. The first diagnosed gene in the locus of enterocyte effacement pathogenicity island is eae gene. The product of this gene is a binding protein called intimin belonging to the group of external membrane proteins regarded as a good stimulants of the immune system. Chitosan with its lipophilic property is an environmentally friendly agent able to return to the environment. Materials and Methods: Intimin recombinant protein was expressed in pET28a vector with eae gene and purification was performed using Ni-NTA and finally the recombinant protein was approved through western blotting. This protein was encapsulated using chitosan nanoparticles and the size of nanoparticles was measured by Zetasizer. Intimin encapsulated was prescribed for three sessions among three groups of oral, injection, and oral-injection using Chitosan nanoparticles. Challenge was performed for all three groups with 108E. coli O157:H7 bacteria. Results: Intimin produced by chitosan nanoparticles improves immunological responses through the adjuvant nature of chitosan nanoparticles. Chitosan may be used as a carrier for transportation of the prescribed vaccine. Among the mice, encapsulated intimin could be able to provide suitable titers of IgG and IgA by the aid of chitosan nanoparticles. Results of mice challenge showed that decreased the bacterial shedding significantly. Conclusion: Results showed that the chitosan nanovaccine with intimin protein may be used as a suitable candidate vaccine against E. coli O157:H7.
IL-17A Levels in the Sera of Patients with Gastric Cancer Show Limited Elevation
Malek-Hosseini, Zahra,Taherinejad, Marziye,Malekzadeh, Mahyar,Ghaderi, Abbas,Doroudchi, Mehrnoosh Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.16
Background: Inflammation plays a major role in the development and progression of gastric and other gastrointestinal tumors. The IL-17 family of cytokines has been under investigation as targets of immunotherapy. Materials and Methods: We investigated the levels of IL-17A inflammatory cytokine in the sera of 57 patients with gastric cancer (GC) and 90 healthy age/sex matched controls using ELISA methods. Results: In only 5 (8.8%) of the patients' sera was IL-17A detectable. No IL-17A was apparent in the sera of healthy controls. The maximum concentration of IL-17A in patients was 7.004 pg/ml. Vascular and lymphatic invasions were only seen in one of the 5 positive cases. Although all of them were in the age group >60 years, no correlation was seen between age and IL-17A level. These results are somewhat different from our findings for colorectal cancer (CRC) in the same population. Conclusions: It is possible that the inflammopathology of CRC and GC are rather different, at least in Fars, a southern province of Iran.

The current research presents the optimization of the parameters involved in the production of polyacrylonitrile(PAN) nanofibers via the needleless electrospinning system. The experiments were designed using the Taguchi method toinvestigate the morphological, physical, and mechanical properties of the nanofibers. The single-wall carbon nanotubes(CNT) were used in order to improve the mechanical properties of the electrospun nanofibers. The diameter of the PANnanofibers in the needleless system was less than 300 nm, which was smaller than that in the conventional system. The resultsshowed that the concentration had the greatest impact on the fiber diameter than other parameters in both PAN and PAN/CNTnanofibers. The specific stress of the nanofibers produced by the needleless electrospinning system was lower than thatcreated by the conventional electrospinning system. Addition of The CNT caused to improve the specific stress of the PAN/CNT nanofibers compared with the PAN nanofibers. However, excessive amounts of CNT had a negative effect on theelongation and modulus because of the aggregation of CNT inside the nanofibers. The X-ray diffraction analysis was used tostudy the crystalline behavior of the PAN nanofibers produced via the needleless electrospinning system. The results showedthat the PAN nanofibers had amorphous structure compared with the conventional PAN nanofibers.

Under solvent-free conditions, the synthesis of propargylic alcohols by direct addition of terminal alkynes to aldehydes promoted by ZnO as a novel, commercially, and cheap catalyst is described. Furthermore, the catalyst can be reused for several times without any significant loss of its catalytic activity.
Mapping the harvesting potential of forest stands using fuzzy sets theory
Zahra Azizi,Seyed Mohsen Hosseini,Nabiollah Yarali 한국산림과학회 2015 Forest Science And Technology Vol.11 No.3
Harvesting renewable resources such as forests has significant socioeconomic value. Limiting damage to a forest requires a harvesting operation based on the characteristics of the particular forest. The assessment and classification of a forest comprises many components, which complicates preparation and combination of the data. This study presents a solution for the problem using a geographic information system (GIS) and fuzzy decisions. Data layers including forest volume, type, canopy density, slope, and average distance of forest stands to roads were studied in a section of Lirehsar Forest in Mazandaran province, Iran. Partial fuzzy membership functions were defined for all layers. These partial memberships were combined by applying a geometric mean operator. The final fuzzy map divided the forest into four classes for the most efficient management purposes.
