Precise performance characterization of perovskite solar cells
Yoshihiro Hishikawa,Haruya Shimura,Takashi Ueda,Ayumi Sasaki,Yuki Ishii 한국물리학회 2016 Current Applied Physics Vol.16 No.8
Experimental procedure for precisely characterizing the performance of perovskite solar cells such as the current-voltage (I-V) curves and the maximum output power Pmax is investigated, based on results of the samples with different structures. Special care is taken for the hysteresis effects. Confirming the hysteresis of the I-V curves in a wide range including the timescale of minutes is preferred for precise measurements, since the hysteresis remains for more than 10 min in some samples. When the hysteresis is persistent even for a long sweep time, the stable Pmax can be determined by examining the temporal trend of the output current by fixing the bias voltage at near Vpm after forward and reverse bias histories.
A GUI-based Application for Learning Computer Architecture using Educational Microprocessor
Ayato UEDA,Hiroyuki MAEDA,Yoshihiro YASUTAKE 대한전자공학회 2015 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2015 No.6
For learning CPU architecture, we take advantage of the educational microprocessor called KERNEL. It is designed to visually present register value and signal flow. In this research, we implement KERNEL on a FPGA board and its console on a mobile computer. Our proposed system on FPGA board has the function of transmitting internal state of processor to console with Bluetooth communication. And, console is realized by a GUIbased application on a mobile computer and shows the processor state sent by FPGA board. In addition, it also has the simulator of microprocessor. This system enables educational processor to be provided at low cost and contributes flexible learning environment.
MID- AND FAR-INFRARED PROPERTIES OF LOCAL ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI
Ichikawa, Kohei,Ueda, Yoshihiro,Terashima, Yuichi,Oyabu, Shinki,Gandhi, Poshak,Matsuta, Keiko,Nakagawa, Takao The Korean Astronomical Society 2012 天文學論叢 Vol.27 No.4
We investigate the mid-infrared (MIR) to far-infrared (FIR) properties of a nearly complete sample of local active galactic nuclei (AGNs) detected in the Swift/Burst Alert telescope (BAT) all-sky hard X-ray (14-195 keV) survey, based on the cross correlation with the infrared survey catalogs of AKARI, IRAS and WISE. Out of 135 non-blazar AGNs in the Swift/BAT 9-month catalog, we obtain the MIR photometric data for 128 sources in either the 9, 12, 18, 22, and $25{\mu}m$ band. We find a good correlation between their hard X-ray and MIR luminosities ranging three orders of magnitude (42 < log ${\lambda}L_{\lambda}$(9, $18{\mu}m$) < 45), which is tighter than that with the FIR luminosities at $90{\mu}m$. Both X-ray unabsorbed and absorbed AGNs follow the same correlation, implying isotropic infrared emission, as expected in clumpy dust tori models rather than homogeneous ones.

ABSTRACT

Antigen-specific adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting cells (APC) during the formation of the immunological synapse (IS) is mediated by LFA-1 and ICAM-1. Here, LFA-1–ICAM-1 interactions were measured at the single-molecule level on supported lipid bilayers. High-affinity binding was detected at low frequencies in the inner peripheral supramolecular activation cluster (SMAC) zone that contained high levels of activated Rap1 and kindlin-3. Rap1 was essential for T cell attachment, whereas deficiencies of ste20-like kinases, Mst1/Mst2, diminished high-affinity binding and abrogated central SMAC (cSMAC) formation with mislocalized kindlin-3 and vesicle transport regulators involved in T cell receptor recycling/releasing machineries, resulting in impaired T cell-APC interactions. We found that NDR1 kinase, activated by the Rap1 signaling cascade through RAPL and Mst1/Mst2, associated with and recruited kindlin-3 to the IS, which was required for high-affinity LFA-1/ICAM-1 binding and cSMAC formation. Our findings reveal crucial roles for Rap1 signaling via NDR1 for recruitment of kindlin-3 and IS organization.

Current Status of the Diagnosis and Management of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors in Japan
Tetsuhide Ito,Masami Miki,Keijiro Ueda,Lingaku Lee,Ken Kawabe,Hisato Igarashi,Nao Fujimori,Kazuhiko Nakamura,Kohei Yasunaga,Robert T. Jensen,Takao Ohtsuka,Yoshihiro Ogawa Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Cancer 2016 Journal of digestive cancer reports Vol.4 No.2
The epidemiology of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PNENs) in Asia has been clarified through epidemiological studies, including one conducted in Japan, and subsequently another in South Korea. As endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has become more widely accessible, endoscopic ultrasound-fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) has been performed in pancreatic tumors for which the clinical course was only monitored previously. This has enabled accurate diagnosis of pancreatic tumors based on the 2010 WHO classification; as a result, the number of patients with an accurate diagnosis has increased. Although surgery has been the standard therapy for PNENs, new treatment options have become available in Japan for the treatment of advanced or inoperable PNENs; of particular note is the recent introduction of molecular target drugs (such as everolimus and sunitinib) and streptozocin. Treatment for progressive PNENs needs to be selected for each patient with consideration of the performance status, degree of tumor differentiation, tumor mass, and proliferation rate. Somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-2 is expressed in many patients with neuroendocrine tumor. Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy (SRS), which can visualize SSTR-2 expression, has been approved in Japan. The SRS will be a useful diagnostic tool for locating neuroendocrine neoplasms, detecting distant metastasis, and evaluating therapy outcomes. In this manuscript, we review the latest diagnostic methods and treatments for PNENs.
INFRARED – X-RAY CONNECTION IN NEARBY ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI; AKARI AND MAXI RESULTS
Naoki Isobe,TAKAONAKAGAWA,Kenichi Yano,Shunsuke Baba,SHINKI OYABU,Yoshiki Toba,Yoshihiro Ueda,Taiki Kawamuro 한국천문학회 2017 天文學論叢 Vol.32 No.1
Combining the AKARI Point Source Catalog andthe 37-month Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image (MAXI) catalog, the infrared and X-ray properties of nearby active galactic nucleiwere investigated. The 37-month MAXI catalog tabulates 100 nearby Seyfert galaxies,73 of which are categorized into Seyfert I galaxies. Among these Seyfert galaxies,69 ones were found to have an AKARI infrared counterpart. For the Seyfert I galaxies in this sample,a well-known correlation was found between the infrared and X-ray luminosities. However, the observed X-ray luminosity of the Seyfert II galaxiestends to be lower for the infrared luminosity than the Seyfert I galaxies. This suggests thatthe X-ray absorption is significant in the Seyfert II galaxies. The Seyfert II galaxies seem to havea bimodal distribution of the IR color between $18~\mu$m and $90~\mu$m. Especially, a large fraction of the Seyfert II galaxiesexhibits a redder IR color than the Seyfert I galaxies. A possible origin of the redder IR color is briefly discussed,in relation to the star formation activity in the host galaxy, and to the X-ray absorption.
