        Preparation of activated carbon spheres and their electrochemical properties as supercapacitor electrode

        The carbon spheres (CSs) synthesized by an ultrasonic-spray pyrolysis method were activated for supercapacitor electrode. There are plenty of cracks on the surface of the activated carbon spheres (ACSs), which expend with increasing the activation temperature and activator dosage. The specifc capacitance of ACSs increases with the activation temperature and activator dosage and reach to maximal value at certain conditions. Importantly, the ACS sample activated at relatively low activation temperature (600 °C) and 7 of mass ratio of KOH to CSs has the highest specifc capacitance (about 209 F g−1 at 50 mA g−1 of current density) and indicates the excellent cycling stability after 1000 consecutive charge–discharge cycles. Furthermore, the graphene sheets could be found in the samples that were activated at 1000 °C. And the electrode prepared by the sample has the very low series resistance because of the excellent conductivity of the formed graphene sheets.

        Two New Species of Placolecis (Lichenized Ascomycota) from China

        Two new species of the lichen genus Placolecis are discovered in China, namely P. kunmingensis An. C. Yin & Li S. Wang and P. sublaevis An. C. Yin & Li S. Wang. The new combination P. loekoesiana (S.Y. Kondr., Farkas, J.J. Woo & Hur) An. C. Yin is proposed. Placolecis kunmingensis is characterized by having simple, spherical or ellipsoid, hyaline spores, and pear-shaped pycnidia; while P. sublaevis can be distinguished by its thallus forming larger aggregations with slightly flattened lobes at the thallus margin, and urn-shaped pycnidia. Descriptions, a phylogenetic tree and a key are provided for all the known Placolecis species in China.

        Packing Narrow-Width Operands to Improve GPU Performance

        Graphics processing units (GPUs), originally designed for graphics applications, have become a popular platform to accelerate general purpose computations. By exploiting massive thread-level parallelism (TLP), GPUs can achieve high throughput as well as memory latency hiding. A GPU typically employs a very large register file (RF) in order to support fast and low-cost context switching between tens of thousands of active threads. As a result, exploiting the RF efficiently is critical for the GPU to achieve high performance. We observe that for many GPGPU applications, a large percentage of computed results actually have fewer significant bits compared to the full width of a 32-bit register, and thus propose a GPU register packing scheme to dynamically exploit narrow-width operands and pack multiple operands into a single full-width register. By using dynamical register packing, more RF space becomes available which allows the GPU to enable more TLP through assigning additional thread blocks on streaming multiprocessors (SMs), and thus improve performance. Our experimental results indicate that dynamic register packing can improve GPU performance by up to 1.96X, and by 1.18X on average.

        Research on interlayer remelting process of multi-layer forming by metal fused-coating additive manufacturing

        In order to achieve good interlayer metallurgical bonding in the metal fused-coating additive manufacturing, the finite element thermal analysis model was established and the influences of different heating temperatures of fused coating nozzle and substrate on the interlayer remelting was analyzed. The maximum remelting depth under different temperature conditions was obtained. The multi-layer forming experiments were performed under different temperature conditions, and the results showed that increasing the heating temperature of nozzle or substrate will effectively increase the remelting depth, that the surface forming quality is better when the remelting depth is in the range of 0.1~0.2 mm, and that the deviation between the remelting depth and the calculated value is less than 15 %. So, the model can predict the remelting depth of the intermetallic microstructure.

        Analysis on the Self under the Vision of Confucian Values: A Case Study of Confucius and Cheng Hao

        中華文化, 无疑是一底蘊厚重深湛、未來意義不可低估的文化。 歷史上, 對于此一文化及其核心价値的形成與確立, 儒家无疑發揮了擧足輕重的作用。孔子(前551 年―前479 年)與程?(1032―1085 年), 是本文探討儒家視域下的自我的切入点。與西方突顯基于肉體感性生命而來的鮮明而强烈的個我之自我觀念形成對照的, 是中華文化語境下的自我觀念。儒家視域下的自我, 奠定于先秦時期人的發現的時代主題與孔子于其中所作出的劃時代意義的杰出貢獻。孔子契接禮樂之統, 意味着對于人的發現的時代主題的契接。繼此契接, 孔子着力突顯了禮樂之統在直接性的生命存在本身之存在上的究竟意義, 予以自覺的此一意義上的創造性轉化, 進而幷從人自身那里爲其尋得了眞切可靠的价値根基, 卽仁。仁被詮顯爲內在于人的生命之中的崇高价値。人本身直下卽成爲擁有崇高价値的存在。禮樂之統有了來自于生命存在本身的价値根基與直接承當, 與人的生命存在接通。仁禮合一的全新哲學文化价値系統最終建構完成。在孔子的視域下, 自我非孤立性存在, 自我之在, 上以通天, 下以接所有的天地人物。自我卽是如此地與天地人物相連一體, 以此而在, 以此而實現着人生的一切。孔子之后, 自先秦時代起, 儒家漸次確立起自身涵納天人、貫通古今、放眼未來的哲學天人之學。置身由漢唐經學向宋明理學轉型過程中的程颢, 推出了他的理學體系。程颢首先開示了一個充滿盎然生机、生意的有机整體宇宙圖景, 繼之揭示了此一生机、生意之所自來的終極宇宙根基, 卽天理, 幷指出天理是一終極的令物生生之理, 卽是一最高的絶對之善本身, 由此天理卽仁體。此一天理、仁體令天地万物涵具幷彰顯出盎然生机、生意, 且一體无隔。人稟受它而具備了存在的所以然的終極宇宙根基和充足的价値根据與資源, 應据之一則珍視自己生命的內在价値, 令其原發性暢然舒展、展現與實現, 再則珍視幷善待他人他物的內在价値, 視天地人物一體无隔的有机宇宙整體中的一切皆爲我生命的有机組成部分, 期其亦皆能原發性暢然舒展、展現與實現自我, 從而成就起一宇宙式大我, 達到成爲天理、仁體自覺圓融化身的最高的生命境界, 卽天地境界。經程颢的創造性解讀, 自我不僅僅是基于肉體感性生命之自我的自我, 更是, 抑或毋寧更應是基于終極大宇宙根基之天理的天地人物无一例外地皆我之的大我。此一大我, 才是自我之在的本然、實然與應然。這一解讀, 爲孔子所開創的儒家之視域所容許, 而令其得到了空前之升華。 The self is a unique concept in the Confucianism, which was laid by Confucius and elucidated by later Confucians. Theories on benevolence were the core of Confucianism, which showed the intrinsic value of human life firstly under its unique vision at the times of “discovery of man”. Cheng Hao who was in the process of transition between classical learning of Han and Tang Dynasties and neo-Confucianism of Song and Ming dynasties blended Confucius’s theory on benevolence with Yi-ology to give benevolence a new life. A dynamic and organic picture of universe lied in the theory which revealed that “Tian Li” was the basis of everything. Meanwhile, “Tian Li” was absolute goodness, namely benevolence. All the things were regarded as an organic whole due to it. Human possessed the ultimate cause of being and sufficient value resources. human’s intrinsic values of life should be cherished and fulfilled naturally as well as other beings’ intrinsic values which were regarded as inevitable parts of my life. Cheng Hao pursued a kind of undistinguishable state with all things on earth as an integral whole, which was named as the world realm. The intrinsic values of human and other beings which were based on the course of heaven were demonstrated fully in Cheng Hao’s new theory of benevolence,which claimed that the fundamental value should be conserved, including all beings on earth. In the global and contemporary social cultural context, all studies on how to transform creatively and explore its modern value and significance in the future are very important.         Research on the Value Shift of Ne zha’s Character Image in Different Periods : Take Ne Zha : I am the destiny(2019) and Ne Zha Conquers the Dragon King(1979) as Examples

        시대별과 배경에서 나타를 주제로 한 애니메이션 영화로서, 〈나타지마동강세(2019)〉와 〈나타요해1979)〉는 나타의 각기 다른 예술 이미지의 가치와 중요성을 반영하였다. 나타 인물 이미지의 가치 전향 연구는 나타 예술 이미지의 다른 스타일을 보여준다. 본 논문은 영화 속 나타 캐릭터의 예술적 표현에 따라 그 뒤에 나타나는 가치의 변화를 해석하다. 나타의 ‘선’에서‘악’이미지로의 전환은 물론, 아버지의 뜻을 거스르기 어렵다 관념에서 운명이 자신의 손에 있다는 관념으로 옮겨가는 것은 나타 이미지의 다른 가치와 의미를 시대별 배경에서 반영한다. 모든 작품에는 선명한 시대성이 있다. <나타지마동강세(2019)>는 새로운 시기 나타 캐릭터의 영화적 혁신과 내용 깊이가 새롭게 드러난 작품이다. 예술적 표현에는 여러 가지 형식이 있는데, 이러한 차별화가 애니메이션을 주름잡는 매력을 크게 증가시켜 중국 애니메이션 영화가 더 많은 발전 공간과 가치를 갖도록 하다. Ne Zha: I am the destiny(2019)and Ne Zha Conquers the Dragon King(1979)as animated films based on the theme of Ne zha in different eras and contexts, reflecting the value and significance of different artistic images of Ne zha, The study of the value turn in the character image of Ne zha reflects the different styles of artistic images of Ne zha. This thesis attempts to interpret the changing values behind the different artistic expressions of the Ne zha character in different films. The transformation of Ne zha"s image from good to evil, and the shift from the idea of "submit to the will of heaven" to the idea of "taking one"s destiny into one"s own hands" reflect the different values and meanings of Ne zha"s image in different eras. Each film is distinctly contemporary, and Ne Zha: I am the destiny is an innovative and in-depth look at the character of Ne zha in the new era of cinema. There are many forms of artistic expression, and these differences greatly increase the appeal of Ne zha"s artistic image, making Chinese animation films more space and value for development.

        Improving CPU and GPU Performance through Sample-Based Dynamic LLC Bypassing

        The current trend toward integrated central processing units (CPUs) and graphics processing units (GPUs) on the same chip presents new challenges for the efficient and fair sharing of resources. Unlike traditional multicores, CPU and GPU cores in the integrated architecture can generate diverse cache traffics and exhibit quite different temporal or spatial data localities. The shared last-level cache (LLC) between the two can result in a large amount of interference between CPU and GPU LLC accesses, thus impacting the performance of both the CPUs and GPUs. Cache bypassing is a promising method to improve LLC performance and to alleviate resource contention between CPUs and GPUs. However, inefficient cache bypassing may lead to significant Network on Chip (NoC) traffic congestion and subsequent performance degradation, particularly for a CPU on a heterogeneous CPU-GPU system with an on-chip ring network. To manage the LLC more efficiently, we propose a sample-based dynamic cache bypassing method for shared LLC in heterogeneous CPU-GPU multicore systems. This method samples the LLC miss rates and NoC traffics for both the CPU and GPU at run-time and uses a statistical bypassing decision-making model to intelligently decide whether to bypass or not. Our experiments show that bypassing CPU can be more useful than bypassing GPU for integrated CPU-GPU architecture with ring-based NoC topology. Our results indicate that bypassing both CPU and GPU can improve CPU performance by 34.30% and GPU performance by 3.20%, while bypassing CPU alone enhances CPU performance by 38.09% and GPU performance by 1.11%, and bypassing GPU alone increases CPU performance by 4.12% and GPU performance by 2.60%, on average.

        Notes : First Report of Heterodermia squamulosa (Lichenized Ascomycota, Physciaceae) in South Korea

        Heterodermia squamulosa (Degel.) W.L. Culb. was found in the mountain of Gariwang, Gangwon province, in 2008. It is characterized by numerous squamules along the margin, decorticate and white lower surface, rhizines along the margin, black and densely squarrosely branched, usually forming a dense mat under the thallus. Apothecia margins densely squamulose, ascospores 12~15 × 25~30 ㎛. Atranorin and zeorin contained in thallus. This is the first record of this species in South Korea.
