A generator-grid coupling calculation model is established to study the leading-phase operational capability of a 770 MW jumbo hydro-generator in a Chinese ultra-mega hydropower station. The static and dynamic stability of the generator are analyzed and calculated to obtain stability limits under leading-phase operating conditions. Three-dimensional (3D) time-varying nonlinear moving electromagnetic and temperature field models of the generator end-region are also established and used to determine the magnetic field, loss, and temperature of the end-region under the leading-phase operating condition. The simulation results agree with data measured from the actual 770 MW hydro-generator. This paper provides reliable reference data for the leading-phase operation of a jumbo hydro-generator, which will help to improve in the design and manufacture of future hydro-generators.
Effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for angina pectoris: An overview of systematic reviews
Qi Wen-Chuan,Fu Hong-Juan,Sun Rui-Rui,Li Xiang,Cai Ding-Jun,Wang Chao,Liang Fan-Rong 한국한의학연구원 2022 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.11 No.3
Background: The number of systematic reviews or meta-analyses (SRs/MAs) on the effectiveness of acupuncture for angina pectoris (AP) is increasing. Due to the inconsistent conclusions and unknown quality of these SRs/MAs, this overview aimed to systematically evaluate and synthesize the existing SRs/MAs, attempting to provide more reliable evidence for the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in the treatment of AP. Methods: SRs/MAs were searched via eight databases from inception to March 14, 2022. The risk of bias was evaluated using the Risk of Bias in Systematic reviews (ROBIS) tool. The quality of the methodology, reporting, and evidence were assessed by the Assess Systematic Reviews 2 (AMSTAR-2), the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis for Acupuncture (PRISMA-A), and the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system, respectively. Results: Sixteen SRs/MAs were included and fifteen SRs/MAs were considered being of critically low quality according to AMSTAR-2. Only three SRs/MAs were rated at low risk of bias. No study reported all the items listed in the PRISMA-A checklist. No high-quality evidence with GRADE assessment was found. With the low-quality evidence, acupuncture combined with other interventions was superior to monotherapy (medications or Chinese medicine) in the angina symptom and electrocardiogram recovery. No adverse effects owing to acupuncture were reported. Conclusions: Owing to the lack of high-quality evidence provided by the current SRs/MAs, the effective-ness of acupuncture for AP still warrants further proof. Further researches with more critical design and methodology are needed for providing more convincing evidence. We investigated the effects of weightlessness, and ionizing radiation plus weightlessness, on changes in the levels of soluble protein, isoperoxidase, and genomic DNA, respectively, in a medicinal plant-ural licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralen-sis)-after a 15-d spaceflight in a recoverable satellite. Both the weightlessness samples (Ws) and the ionizing radiation plus weightlessness samples (IR/Ws) showed increases in soluble protein content or peroxidase activity, compared with the ground control (Gc). Moreover, the increased isoperoxidase activity for the IR/Ws group was significantly greater than for the Ws, compared with the controls. Likewise, distinctive RAPD profiles were generated among the Ws, the IR/Ws, and the Gc. The Ws and IR/Ws yielded 66 and 78 polymorphic RAPD fragments, respectively, based on bulk template DNA, along with 19 selected primers. Therefore, weightlessness alone can trigger genomic alterations, to some extent, and may even result in modulation of gene expression, whereas ionizing radiation would probably enhance the effect of weightlessness.

Fifty-four biological characters were used for quantitative classification of sorghum and sudangrass and their relationship. Discriminant analysis of all 240 individuals of 48 accessions suggested that 100% of originally grouped cases were correctly classified. Analysis of variance results showed that the differences among 48 accessions in characters were significant at the 0.01 level. Cluster analysis showed that the 48 accessions were obviously divided into two clusters by a Euclidean distance of 17.46 as the classification standards, i.e. the genus maize and genus sorghum. The 48 accessions were divided into four clusters by a Euclidean distance of 9.86, i.e. Sorghum-Sudangrass, Sorghum related species (S. propinquum and S. halepense), Zea mexicana and Z. mays. All accessions were divided into five clusters by a Euclidean distance of 8.91, namely group Ⅰ (Sudangrass-Chinese sorghum), group Ⅱ (Non-Chinese sorghum), group Ⅲ (Sorghum related species), group Ⅳ (Zea mexicana), and group Ⅴ (Z mays).

Nonlinear Increase of Spatial Noise for Ultrashort Pulses with Different Temporal Widths

In this paper, the dynamic evolution of the spatial noise modulation of ultrashort laser pulses in carbon disulfide (CS2) is investigated experimentally, and different temporal widths of the stretched pulse are analyzed for spatial noise gain. The spatial noise evolution (i.e., small-scale self-focusing) of ultrashort laser pulses with different temporal widths as a function of the length of the CS2 has been observed. If the spectral bandwidth is invariant, the experimental results show that a stretched pulse with a broader temporal width can postpone the small-scale self-focusing of spatial noise for longer medium length with constant input power or for greater input power with the same medium length. A field-circuit coupling model of a typical faulty generator is established to correct through-bolt end-region overheating and breakdown failure in a tubular hydro-generator. Using the model, eddy current loss and electromagnetic forces on through bolts under normal and failure conditions are analyzed and compared and the natural frequency of a through bolt is determined. Based on the analysis results, the causative mechanism of failure is revealed and targeted improvement design measures are proposed. The numerical results are found to be consistent with the actual fault characteristics, validating the design measure improvements. The results are useful in improving the design and manufacturing standards and enhancing the operational reliability of large tubular hydro-generators.

Wei Huang,Lan-Ying Wang,Yi-Le Fu,Ji-Quan Liu,You-Ni Tao,Fang-Li Fan,Gao-Hong Zhai,Zhen-Yi Wen 대한화학회 2009 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.30 No.3
Aggregation behavior of three kinds of benzindocarbocyanine dyes in aqueous methanol solution was studied by UV-Vis absorption spectrum. The results indicated that the three dyes all existed monomer-dimer equilibrium in aqueous methanol solution (concentration range 10−5 to 10−6 M) at 25.0~41.0 °C for Dye 1, 28.0~49.0 oC for Dye 2 and 26.0~47.0 °C for Dye 3. The fundamental property of the three dyes as the dimeric association constant KD, the dimeric free energy ΔGD, the dimeric entropy ΔSD, and the dimeric enthalpy ΔHD were determined. The ΔHD of three dyes: Dye 1, Dye 2 and Dye 3 was -42.5, -15.1 and -18.9 kJ/mol, respectively. The experimental observations were the subject of a theoretical study including the ground-state geometries which were fully optimized using DFT at B3LYP/6-31G level. The effect of dye molecule structure on ΔHD was discussed by theoretical calculations.
