      • An Epidemic Model of Information Dissemination in Mobile Social Networks

        Wang Weiguo,Chu Chen,Liu Jinzhuo,Li Tairan 보안공학연구지원센터(IJUNESST) 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.1

In this paper, we propose a new model for information dissemination in mobile social networks. The dynamic equation of information dissemination is modified. Moreover, we investigate numerically the behavior of the model on a real scale-free social site with the exponent γ =1.08. We find that initial spreaders with big out-degree of can accelerate information dissemination, and the nodes with large in-degree would be easier to be a spreader or to become to stiflers.

Aqueous Extract of Lysimachia christinae Hance Prevents Cholesterol Gallstone in Mice by Affecting the Intestinal Microflora

( Shijia Liu ),( Quji Luorong ),( Kaizhi Hu ),( Weiguo Cao ),( Wei Tao ),( Handeng Liu ),( Dan Zhang ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2021 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.31 No.9

With changes in human dietary patterns, the proportion of high-fat and high-cholesterol foods in the daily diet has increased. As a result, the incidence rate of cholelithiasis is increasing rapidly. Many studies have reported on the crucial role that the intestinal microflora plays in the progression of gallstones. Although the whole herb of Lysimachia christinae, a traditional Chinese medicine, has long been extensively used as a remedy for cholelithiasis in China, its effects on the intestinal microflora remain unknown. Hence, in this study, we investigated the ability of the aqueous extract of L. christinae (LAE) to prevent cholesterol gallstones (CGSs) in model animals by affecting the intestinal microflora. The effects of LAE on body weight, serum lipid profile, visceral organ indexes, and histomorphology were studied in male C57BL/6J mice, which were induced by a lithogenic diet. After the 8-week study, CGSs formation was greatly reduced after LAE treatment. LAE also reduced body weight gain and hyperlipidemia and restored the histomorphological changes. Moreover, the intestinal microflora exhibited significant variation. In the model group fed the lithogenic diet, the abundances of the genera unclassified Porphyromonadaceae, Lactobacillus and Alloprevotella decreased, but in contrast, Akkermansia dramatically increased compared with the control check group, which was fed a normal diet; the administration of LAE reversed these changes. These results imply that L. christinae can be considered an efficient therapy for eliminating CGSs induced by a high-fat and high-cholesterol diet, which may be achieved by influencing the intestinal microflora.

Formation and failure characteristics of a landslide induced by excavation in western Henan, China

        Haining Liu,Suzhen Duan,Han Dong Liu,Weiguo Wang,Yujie Jia 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.7

Engineering construction in mountainous areas is a key factor inducing slope failure, whichposes severe threats to life and property safety during construction and operation. Thus, clearunderstanding of slope structure and potential failure mechanisms is of great importance forslope reinforcement. The Shangge landslide, located in a mountainous area of WesternHenan, China, was triggered by excavation along a toll station. The slope was still unstableafter a row of anti-sliding piles were constructed. To clarify the deformation characteristics andfailure mechanism of this landslide and provide reinforcement guidance for slopes with similargeological conditions, a combined method of field investigation, displacement monitoring, and numerical simulation was employed. The results indicate that the natural slope comprisesa dual structure of soil and rock, and that the soil, with poor permeability and high watermoisture, was prone to form a potential sliding surface. Secondly, slope excavation was thedirect triggering factor. Lastly, but most importantly, the preliminary investigation work failed toaccurately expose the potential position of the sliding surface, and the existing anti-slide pilesfailed to cross the potential sliding surface, which made them unable to effectively improveslope stability. The numerical simulation verified that the recommended piles installed on theplatform of level 2 could significantly improve slope stability. Therefore, when carrying outengineering slope design in similar geological environments, the slope structure and materialcomposition should be fully identified, and the influence of groundwater on the slope stabilitystate should be emphasized. These results can provide a reference for similar slopereinforcement designs.

Synthesis of Cobalt-Iron Prussian Blue Analogues Nanotubes by CTAB Soft-Template Method

        Liu, Peng,Liang, Chuanghui,Xu, Jianfeng,Fang, Jian,Zhao, Jihua,Shen, Weiguo Korean Chemical Society 2010 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.31 No.5

Three cobalt-iron Prussian Blue Analogues (PBAs) nanotubes contained with different alkali metal cations of K, Rb or Cs, respectively, were prepared by using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)/ethanol-water micelles as soft templates. The products were characterized by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron micrograph (SEM), which confirmed the composition of the substances and their unique nanotube structures. Furthermore, the formation mechanism of the PBAs nanotubes was discussed and provided useful insight for further synthesis of nanotubes of other Prussian blue analogues.

      • Empirical Analysis of User Interaction Behavior in Microblogging

        WeiGuo Yuan,Yun Liu,JingJing Yang 한국산학기술학회 2012 SmartCR Vol.2 No.3

Patterns of user interaction behavior in online social networks have attracted increasing academic interest, since the quantitative understanding of user behavior is helpful to uncover the origins of many socioeconomic phenomena. In order to gain insights into user interaction behavior characteristics in microblogging, we have crawled Sina Microblog data and obtained user profiles and statuses. Six features of users are studied in our experiments, which are followers and friends, statuses and favorites, retweets and comments. Empirical analysis reveals some common statistical features of user behavior in microblogging. First, all of these properties follow different power-law distributions. Especially, followers and statuses exhibit a double-power-law distribution and friends follow a specific interval power law distribution. Second, there exists a strong positive correlation between statuses and followers, retweets and comments, but the relation between followers and friends is weak. What"s more, there exists a moderate correlation between the number of friends and statuses, retweets and followers, and comments and followers. Third, only a small number of statuses have extreme dissemination and concern. From a quantitative view, the result shows that the strong effect of celebrity cannot be ignored in Sina Microblogs. We believe this paper has added rich empirical materials to our knowledge and understanding of user behavior in microblogging.

Comparison of the safety between cervical conization and hysterectomy for patients with cervical adenocarcinoma in situ

        Jingjing Liu,Yu Wang,Xiaoyun Wan,Jian Zou,Yedan Zhu,Weiguo Lv,Yuanming Shen 대한부인종양학회 2023 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.34 No.1

Objective: To compare the safety between cervical conization (CC) alone and hysterectomy for patients with adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) of the cervix. Methods: Patients diagnosed with AIS after CC during 2007–2021 were identified by computerized databases at Women’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. A total of 453 AIS patients were divided into 2 groups according to uterus preservation: hysterectomy group (n=300) and CC(s) alone group (n=153). The prevalence of residual disease and disease recurrence was compared between patients treated by CC(s) alone and hysterectomy. The prevalence of residual disease in specimens from women who had a hysterectomy and repeat CC were compared between positive and negative margins of CC. The factors influencing residual disease and disease recurrence were assessed. Results: Among 310 specimens from women who had a hysterectomy or repeat CC, the prevalence of residual disease was 50.6% (45/89) for a positive margin and 2.3% (5/221) for a negative margin (p=0.000). Four patients had recurrence of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia in those treated by hysterectomy and one had recurrence of cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia in those treated by CC(s) alone. The prevalence of recurrence was 0.7% (1/153) for CC(s) alone and 1.3% (4/300) for hysterectomy (p=0.431). Hysterectomy did not influence residual disease or disease recurrence. Conclusion: CC is an efficacious and safe option for patients with AIS of the cervix provided the margin is negative.

Molecular profile-based recommendations for postoperative adjuvant therapy in early endometrial cancer with high-intermediate or intermediate risk: a Chinese randomized phase III trial (PROBEAT)

        Yang Liu,Changkun Zhu,Hongyu Xie,Yaxia Chen,Weiguo Lv,Xing Xie,Xinyu Wang 대한부인종양학회 2023 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.34 No.2

Background: The use of molecular categorisation is shifting paradigm towards the use of molecular information to refine risk stratification in endometrial cancer (EC). To date, evidence to support molecular-guided therapies is limited to retrospective studies and secondary molecular analyses of patients receiving standard treatment. The PROBEAT study is the first randomized phase III trial to evaluate tailored adjuvant treatment based on WHO-endorsed molecular classification in Chinese EC patients. It is expected to provide a clinical decision-making tool for adjuvant treatment of patients with high-intermediate risk (HIR) or intermediate risk (IR) EC to better optimise and personalise patient care and increase relapse-free survival. Methods: The PROBEAT trial is a prospective, multicentre study led by Women’s Hospital of Zhejiang University Gynaecologic Oncology Group. Recruitment started on January 24, 2022, and 590 patients with HIR or IR endometrioid EC are expected to be recruited from 13 clinical centres in China. All tumor tissues will be classified into four molecular subtypes (POLEmut, MMRd, p53abn, or NSMP) based on WHO-endorsed molecular classification. Patients will be randomly assigned at a 2:1 ratio to either experimental arm and will receive molecular profile-based adjuvant treatment (observation in the POLEmut subgroup, vaginal brachytherapy in the MMRd or NSMP subgroup, or chemoradiotherapy in the p53abn subgroup) or to standard arm and will receive preferred adjuvant radiotherapy as recommended by the recent National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines version 1 (2022). The primary outcome is 3-year rates of recurrence. Secondary outcomes are relapse-free survival, overall survival, adverse events and health-related cancer-specific quality of life.

      • Role of Tie Strength in Information Dissemination in Mobile Social Networks

        Wang Weiguo,Chu Chen,Liu Jinzhuo,Li Tairan 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.3

In this paper, we propose a new model for information dissemination in mobile social networks, in which the infectious probability is defined as a function of the homogeneity and heterogeneity between nodes. Moreover, we investigate numerically the behavior of the model on a real scale-free social site with the exponent γ =1.08. We find that weak ties between nodes play an important role in information dissemination process. Specially, selecting weak ties preferentially can make information spread faster and wider, and the efficiency of diffusion will be greatly affected after removing them.
