Dinucleotide polymorphisms are short tandem repeat sequences that can be used as probes for haplotype analysis in Duchenne's muscular dystrophy (DMD). There are approximately a total of 50,000 to 100,000 such loci in the human genome, and they are highly informative due to the variability of allele lengths at these loci. Primers can be designed to amplify across such repeats located in the dystrophin gene to provide diagnostic information when RFLP analysis is uninformative. We report the usefulness of six such loci for analysis of DMD families in Korean. Four (CA)n repeats is located in introns 44, 45, 49, 50 of the dystrophin gene while 5'DYS-II marker is located upstream to the transcriptional start site for the brain dystrophin promoter and 3'CA marker is identified in the 3'UTR of the gene. As for 5'DYS-II and four (CA)n repeats, the numbers of alleles in our cases were less than in Caucasians, and the heterozygosities were lower than in Caucasians. However, the 3'CA polymorphisms showed almost the same frequencies and heterozygosities as in Caucasians. In addtion, all of female cases showed a heterozygous pattern for at least one locus, with the combination of the six markers. Therefore, they were useful for linkage analysis, identification of deletion mutations, confirmation of paternity and mapping of gene recombination.

<P>Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum Gaertn.) contains a high level of flavonoid compounds, which have beneficial and pharmacological effects on health. In this study, we isolated full-length cDNAs encoding hydroxycinnamoyl-coenzyme A quinate hydroxycinnamoyltransferase (HQT) and <I>p</I>-coumarate 3′-hydroxylase (C3H), which are involved in chlorogenic acid (CGA) biosynthesis. We examined the expression levels of HQT and C3H using real-time RT-PCR in different organs and sprouts of two tartary buckwheat cultivars (Hokkai T8 and T10) and analyzed CGA content using high-performance liquid chromatography. Among the organs, the flowers in both cultivars showed the highest levels of CGA. We concluded that the expression pattern of <I>FtHQT</I> and <I>FtC3H</I> did not match the accumulation pattern of CGA in different organs of T8 and T10 cultivars. Gene expression and CGA content varied between the cultivars. We presume that <I>FtHQT</I> and <I>FtC3H</I> levels might be controlled by multiple metabolic pathways in different organs of tartary buckwheat. Probably, <I>FtC3H</I> might have a greater effect on CGA biosynthesis than <I>FtHQT</I>. TRANSFORM ON GAUSSIAN WHITE NOISE FUNCTIONALS AND FEYNMAN INTEGRAL

We develop Gaussian white noise functionals with mean functional and covariance operator, and study transforms on the Gaussian white noise functionals. The innitesimal generators of all dierentiable one-parameter groups induced by the transforms are linear combinations of the Gross Laplacian and the number op- erator. Finally we study Feynman integrals of the Gaussian white noise functionals, and some relations between the transforms and the Feynman integrals.

The chemical structures of two newly isolated compounds, 1and 2 were established as 8-demethoxycephatonine (1) and7(R)-7,8-dihydrosinomenine (2), by spectroscopic analysesincluding 2D NMR experiments.
Measles susceptibility of marriage migrant women in Korea

International migrants could be considered a risk group susceptible to vaccine-preventable diseases. We conducted a measles seroprevalence study among 419 marriage migrant women living in Sinan-gun and Wando-gun, South Jeolla Province, located in the southwestern part of Korea. The overall seroimmunity was 92.8%. The seroimmunity varied considerably according to the country of origin and increased with age. Our current analysis could be valuable in the context of discussions concerning vaccination policies for immigrants in Korea.

Purpose: To investigate whether the signal or morphological changes in the adjacent bone or soft tissue after intradiscal electrothermal therapy (IDET) occur due to postprocedural inflammation or infectious spondylodiscitis. Materials and Methods: Ten patients (female:male = 5:5; age range, 18–71 years; mean age: 36.5 years) who underwent lumbar IDET between January 2018 and December 2020 and complained of fever or pain were included in this study. The presence and extent of bone marrow and paraspinal soft tissue signal changes were evaluated using the first follow-up magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after IDET. Signal changes in the treated discs and the presence and extent of epidural enhancement were evaluated. Additionally, we investigated the presence and margins of subchondral erosions in the vertebral body. Results: Two radiologists analyzed the imaging findings by consensus. Six patients were diagnosed with postprocedural inflammation and four with infectious spondylodiscitis, which was confirmed by specimen culture after surgery. All 10 patients showed signal changes in the bone marrow of the vertebral bodies adjacent to the treated disc. Signal changes in the paraspinal soft tissue were observed in only five patients: three with infectious spondylodiscitis and two with postprocedural inflammation. In six patients with postprocedural inflammation, subchondral erosions had well-defined margins with a sclerotic rim and in four patients with infectious spondylodiscitis, subchondral erosions had ill-defined margins. Epidural enhancement showed an extensive pattern in all cases of infectious spondylodiscitis and localized patterns in cases of postprocedural inflammation. Conclusion: MRI or computed tomography findings of well-defined subchondral erosions with a sclerotic rim and more localized signal changes in the paraspinal soft tissue or epidural space might aid in the differentiation of infectious spondylodiscitis and postprocedural inflammation in patients who underwent IDET.
ON A q-FOCK SPACE AND ITS UNITARY DECOMPOSITION

A Fock representation of q-commutation relation is studied by constructing a q-Fock space as the space of the representation, the q-creation and q-annihilation operators (-1 < q < 1). In the case of 0 < q < 1, the q-Fock space is interpolated between the Boson Fock space and the full Fock space. Also, a unitary decomposition of the q-Fock space $(q\;{\neq}\;0)$ is studied.

Motivated by the convolution product of white noise functionals, we introduce a new notion of convolution products of white noise operators. Then we study several interesting relations between the convolution products and the quantum generalized Fourier-Mehler transforms, and study a quantum-classical correspondence.
