This paper presents the analysis of the analysis of thrust characteristics of linear induction motors(LIMs) according to secondary reaction plate. LIMs are well known as high speed transport systems, which can obtain thrust directly without gears and links, or auxiliary mechanisms. A simple structure, easy maintenance, and less environmental pollution are advantages of LIMs. In transport systems using LIMs, the secondary reaction plate is an important design factor, because it has considerable impact on the cost of the railway as well as the performance of the LIMs. This paper deals analyzed the characteristics of linear induction motor used for moving the vehicle of container scanner. Thrust, efficiency and load characteristic were interpreted with FEM regarding two models whose material of secondary reaction plate was copper and aluminum. It suggested the interpretation of thrust, efficiency and power factor characteristic along slip and compared the operation ability of linear induction motor through characteristics analysis along the load.

<P>Obesity has become a major health threat in developed countries. However, current medications for obesity are limited because of their adverse effects. Interest in natural products for the treatment of obesity is thus rapidly growing. Korean Medicine (KM) is characterized by the wide use of herbal formulas. However, the combination rule of herbal formulas in KM lacks experimental evidence. According to <I>Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica</I>, the earliest book of herbal medicine, <I>Veratrum nigrum</I> (VN) has antagonistic features against <I>Panax ginseng</I> (PG), and the PG-VN pair is strictly forbidden. In this study, we have shown the effects of PG, VN, and their combination on obesity in high-fat (HF) diet-induced obese mice and in 3T3-L1 cells. PG, VN, and PG-VN combination significantly reduced weight gain and the fat pad weight in HF diet-induced obese mice. They also significantly decreased lipid accumulation and the expressions of two major adipogenesis factors, PPAR<I><I>γ</I></I> and C/EBP<I><I>α</I></I>, in 3T3-L1 cells. In addition, the PG-VN combination had synergistic effects compared with the mixture of extracts of PG and VN on inhibition of PPAR<I><I>γ</I></I> and C/EBP<I><I>α</I></I> expressions at lower doses. These results indicate a new potential anti-obese pharmacotherapy and also provide scientific evidence supporting the usage of herbal combinations instead of mixtures in KM.</P>
Effect of First Birth Interval Length on Preterm of Singleton Birth in Korea; 2010- 2013

Purpose: To compare the preterm birth (PTB) by length of first birth interval (LFBI) in singleton birth among primiparous women. Methods: Data from the 2010-2013 birth certification of Korea Statistics (718,103 singleton first births) was used. Extra-marital birth, teenage birth, non-hospital birth cases, pre-marital pregnancy (shotgun birth) cases, and missing information (year and month of marriage, gestational age) were excluded from the data. Odds ratio and 95% confidence intervals were calculated from multinomial logistic regression analyses to describe the associations between the LFBI and the risk of PTB. Results: The mean LFBI from marriage to first birth was 24.4 months. The frequency of LFBI was 29.7 percent in LFBI of 8-12 months, 38.1 percent in 13-24 months, 22.7 percent in 25-48 months, 3.8 percent in 49-60 months, and 5.7 percent in ≥61 months. The rate of PTB was increased with prolonged LFBI. The incidence of PTB by LFBI was 3.9 percent in the LFBI of 8-24 months, 4.3 percent in 25-48 months, and 5.8 percent in ≥49 months. The odds ratio of PTB for the LFBI of ≥49 months was 1.327 (95% confidence interval: 1.299-1.427), compared with the LFBI of 8-24 months. The odds ratio of PTB was 1.695 (1.598-1.798) in women aged 35 and older with the LFBI of ≥49 months, as compared to women aged under 34 years with the LFBI of ≥8-24 months. Conclusion: A prolonged LFBI was associated with the increased preterm birth risk.

Aims: In this Phase-3 randomized, double-blind, active-controlled study in 425 HBeAg-negative patients, the efficacy of TAF was demonstrated to be non-inferior to that of TDF at Week48 in the proportion with HBV DNA<29 IU/mL with improved bone and renal effects. Here we present the subgroup efficacy analysis of Korea patients in the study. Methods: Patients with HBeAg-negative CHB were randomized 2:1 to TAF 25mg or TDF 300mg, and treated for 96weeks. The primary efficacy analysis was the proportion with HBV DNA<29 IU/mL at Week48. The results for the subgroup of Korean patients were compared to non-Koreans. Results: Of the 425 patients who were randomized and treated, 45 subjects (11%; TAF 30; TDF 15 subjects) were enrolled in Korea. In contrast to the non-Korea population, the Korea population for the TAF and TDF groups included a higher proportion of females (60% and 47%) a lower mean baseline HBV DNA level, and more treatment experienced subjects. Nearly all were genotype C. Key efficacy end points are summarized in the Table. The percentages of Korean subjects with HBV DNA levels<29 IU/mL at Week48 were 100.0% with TAF and 80.0% with TDF. The results were consistent with the non-Korean and overall populations. A greater percentage of patients treated with TAF also achieved normalization of serum ALT values. The rates of treatment discontinuations and serious AEs were low and similar in the two arms. No viral resistance was observed overall. Similar to non-Korean subjects, those from Korea who were treated with TAF also showed smaller declines in BMD at hip and spine and in CrCl at Week48 compared with TDF subjects in Korea. Conclusions: Compared to TDF 300mg, the efficacy and safety of TAF 25mg in patients with HBeAg-negative CHB from Korea were consistent with those of the nonKorea and overall populations at Week48.
Acupuncture and Cortisol Levels: a Systematic Review

Objective: This study was undertaken to systematically assess and summarize the effects of acupuncture on cortisol secretion. Materials and methods: We searched articles published up to May 2010 in six electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, KISS, KISTI, DBPIA, Kyobo Scholar). Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) which met all the inclusion criteria were reviewed. Eight RCTs were finally selected for this systematic review and assessed by three reviewers. The risk of bias was also estimated by using the Cochrane criteria. Results: Six RCTs reported no distinct difference of cortisol levels between control and experimental groups. Two RCTs reported significant differences of cortisol levels between groups; one reported the acupuncture group with markedly higher concentrations of cortisol while the other reported the opposite result. Conclusion: There are some difficulties in clearly identifying the effects of acupuncture on cortisol levels in this systematic review due to inconsistent results. Therefore, more rigorous trials with larger scales need to be conducted to clarify the effects of acupuncture on cortisol levels.
Development of an Advanced Rotorcraft Preliminary Design Framework

Various modules are generally combined with one another in order to perform rotorcraft preliminary design and its optimization. At the stage of the preliminary design, analysis fidelity is less important than the rapid assessment of a design is. Most of the previous researchers attempted to implement sophisticated applications in order to increase the fidelity of analysis, but the present paper focuses on a rapid assessment while keeping the similar level of fidelity. Each small-sized module will be controlled by an externally-operated global optimization module. Results from each module are automatically handled from one discipline to another which reduces the amount of computational effort and time greatly when compared with manual execution. Automatically handled process decreases computational cycle and time by factor of approximately two. Previous researchers and the rotorcraft industries developed their own integrated analysis for rotorcraft design task, such as HESCOMP, VASCOMP, and RWSIZE. When a specific mission profile is given to these programs, those will estimate the aircraft size, performance, rotor performance, component weight, and other aspects. Such results can become good sources for the supplemental analysis in terms of stability, handling qualities, and cost. If the results do not satisfy the stability criteria or other constraints, additional sizing processes may be used to re-evaluate rotorcraft size based on the result from stability analysis. Trade-off study can be conducted by connecting disciplines, and it is an important advantage in a preliminary design study. In this paper among the existing rotorcraft design programs, an adequate program is selected for a baseline of the design framework, and modularization strategy will be applied and further improvements for each module be pursued.
