This study aimed to examine the distribution of gastrointestinal parasitic infections in domestic pigs in the Republic of Korea. From May 2020 to October 2021, 364 pig fecal samples were collected from 75 farms in 7 Provinces and microscopically examined. A total of 170 (46.7%) pigs were infected with at least one of the following parasites: Balantioides coli, strongyles, Ascaris suum, Trichuris suis, and coccidia. By parasite species, B. coli, strongyles, A. suum, T. suis, and coccidia oocysts or eggs were detected in 144 (39.6%), 24 (6.6%), 14 (3.8%), 4 (1.1%), and 1 (0.3%) samples, respectively. One hundred fifty-four, 15, and 1 cases showed single, double, and triple infections, respectively. Of the swine fecal samples from 75 farms, 69 specimens (92.0%) were infected with 1 or more parasites. All surveyed farms across the country exhibited a positive rate of over 30%, among which the highest positive rate was 65.0% in Chungcheongnamdo, and Jeollabuk-do was followed by 61.9%. Winter showed a statistically lower prevalence than other seasons. This study showed that gastrointestinal parasites are prevalent in pigs in Korea, although the diversity of parasites is low.

Objective: The treatment rate for alcohol use disorder (AUD) in Korea is significantly lower than its prevalence rate. Because untreated AUD can have harmful consequences, it is important to identify the factors that contribute to individuals with AUD seeking mental health services. Methods: We collected nationally representative data from the National Mental Health Survey of Korea 2021 and analyzed responses from 643 individuals with AUD, of which 76.8% were male. Factors related to mental health service utilization among individuals with AUD were classified into three categories: sociodemographic (such as sex, age, marital status, education, and monthly household income), clinical (including symptom severity, psychiatric comorbidity, suicidality, and physical illness), and psychological characteristics (like perceived stigma, loneliness and social isolation, and resilience). We used multiple logistic regression analyses to examine each characteristic separately and combined in a single model to determine the most significant factors. Results: The three logistic regression models revealed that sex, psychiatric comorbidity, physical illness, and perceived stigma are significantly linked to the utilization of mental health services among individuals with AUD. Results from the comprehensive model indicated that only physical illness and perceived stigma have significant associations with mental health service utilization. Conclusion: These findings can assist in developing targeted interventions for individuals with AUD.

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most frequent cancer with limited therapeutic achievements. Recently, adoptive cellular immunotherapy has been developed as an antitumor therapy. However, its efficacy has not been tested in CRC. This study investigated the ability of an immune cell cocktail of dendritic cells (DCs), T cells, and natural killer (NK) cells to overcome immunological hurdles and improve the therapeutic efficacy of cell therapy for CRC.Methods: CRC lysate-pulsed monocyte-derived DCs (Mo-DCs), CRC antigen-specifically expanded T cells (CTL), and in vitro-expanded NK cells were cultured from patient peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). The ability of the combined immune cells to kill autologous tumor cells was investigated by co-culturing the combined immune cells with patient-derived tumor cells.Results: The Mo-DCs produced expressed T cell co-stimulating molecules like CD80, CD86, human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DR and HLA-ABC, at high levels and were capable of activating naive T cells. The expanded T cells were predominantly CD8 T cells with high levels of CD8 effector memory cells and low levels of regulatory T cells. The NK cells expressed high levels of activating receptors and were capable of killing other cancer cell lines (K562 and HT29). The immune cell cocktail demonstrated a higher ability to kill autologous tumor cells than single types. An in vivo preclinical study confirmed the safety of the combined immune cell adaptive therapy showing no therapy-related death or general toxicity symptoms.Conclusion: The results suggested that combined immune cell adaptive therapy could overcome the limited efficacy of cell immunotherapy.
Investigation of ITU Radio Regulations Regarding KPS Service Band

In order to reserve frequency bands for stable operation of the Korean Positioning System (KPS), it must be demonstrated that the impact of interference caused by KPS on other services operating in the same bands is tolerable. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) provides the radio regulations and a compatibility assessment methodology for the coexistence of different services in limited frequency resources. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the radio regulations regarding the compatibility issues between the KPS and other services sharing the same frequency bands. The results of the investigation show that the RNSS system can be operated in the L5-band under the condition that the Power Flux Density (PFD) and Aggregated Equivalent PFD (AEPFD) thresholds specified in the radio regulations are met. In addition, the ITU recommends that the interference-to-noise ratio (INR) protection criteria be met to prevent degradation of the performance of radar systems operating in the L2/L6-band. In the case of the S-band, coordination of allocations for RDSS space stations with respect to terrestrial services is not required if the PFD does not exceed regulated thresholds regulated by ITU.
Measurement Level Experimental Test Result of GNSS/IMU Sensors in Commercial Smartphones

The performance of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) chipset and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors embedded in smartphones for location-based services (LBS) is limited due to the economic reasons for their mass production. Therefore, it is necessary to efficiently process the output data of the smartphone's embedded sensors in order to derive the optimum navigation values and, as a previous step, output performance of smartphone embedded sensors needs to be verified. This paper analyzes the navigation performance of such devices by processing the raw measurements data output from smartphones. For this, up-to-dated versions of smartphones provided by Samsung (Galaxy s10e) and Xiaomi (Mi 8) are used in the test experiment to compare their performances and characteristics. The GNSS and IMU data are extracted and saved by using an open market application software (Geo++ RINEX Logger & Mobile MATLAB), and then analyzed in post-processing manner. For GNSS chipset, data is extracted from static environments and verified the position, Carrier-to-Noise (C/N<sub>0</sub>), Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) performance. For IMU sensor, the validity of navigation and various location-based-services is predicted by extracting, storing and analyzing data in static and dynamic environments.
Analysis of Jamming Robustness Performance According to RNSS Signal Waveforms

As the importance and dependency of the positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) information provided by the radio navigation satellite service (RNSS) increases, the vulnerability of RNSS to jamming can lead to significant risks. The signal design under the consideration of anti-jamming performance helps to provide service which is robust to jamming environment. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the jamming robustness performance during the design of new signals. In this paper, we introduce figures-of-merit (FoMs) that can be used for an anti-jamming performance analysis of designed signals of interest. We then calculate the FoMs, such as the quality factor (Q factor), tolerable jamming-to-signal ratio (tolerable J/S), and range to jammer (d) for legacy RNSS signals and analyze the results. Finally, based on the results of the analysis, we derive waveform design conditions to obtain good anti-jamming performance. As a result, this paper shows that the waveforms with wide bandwidth leading to good spectral efficiency provide strong anti-jamming performance.
