Eukaryotic replication protein A (RPA) is a single-stranded(ss) DNA binding pretein with multiple functions in DNA replication, repair, and genetic recombination. The 70-kDa subunit of eukaryotic RPA contains a conserved four cysteine-type zinc-finger motif that has been implicated in the regulation of DNA replication and repair. Recently, we described a novel function for the zinc-finger motif in the regulation of human RPA's ssDNA binding activity through reduction-oxidation (redox). Here, we show that yeast RPA's ssDNA binding activity is regulated by redox potential through its RPA32 and/or RPA14 subunits. Yeast RPA requires a reducing agent, such as dithiothreitol (DTT), for ifs ssDNA binding activity. Also, under non-reducing conditions, its DNA binding activity decreases 20 fold. In contrast, the RPA70 subunit does not require DTT for its DNA binding activity and is not affected by the redox condition. These results suggest that all three subunits are required for the regulation of RPA's DNA binding activity through redox potential.

To investigate the design effects of a heat exchanger on a tube type, a tube circuit and a fin pitch, an experimental study on the heat transfer characteristics of finned-tube evaporators was performed. The refrigerant was R-22. A refrigerant loop was established to measure the heat transfer rate, the air heat transfer coefficient. The experimental results showed that the heat transfer characteristics of the evaporators were affected by the design parameters. And the heat transfer rate of the slit fin was better about 25%, compared to those of the louver fin. In the present experimental range, the heat transfer performance with the straight tube circuit was more remarkable than that of the zigzag tube circuit, as seen from temperature variations of the evaporator exit. j -factor on the tube type, the tube circuit and the fin pitch decreased, as increasing Reynolds number.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to know the influence of the difference in shoulder slope from balance training. Method : Training was divided that the 10 people were a Trampoline group, 10 people were a Togu group, 8 people were a Balance Board group and 9 people were a Control group. Method of the training was that the Trampoline group was carried out on the Trampoline. The training was carried out totally 2 times of 8 set per a week and had a break time during 10 seconds after carried out 30 seconds per one set. Togu group was carried out totally 2 times of 5 minutes per a week and had a break time during 30 seconds after carried out 2 minutes per one set. Balance Board group was carried out totally 2 times of 5 minutes per a week and had a break time 30 seconds after carried out 2 minutes per one set. Data was analyzed by repeated measure of one way ANOVA and repeated measure ANOVA. Result : The shoulder of the slope difference decreased significantly after balance training. The Trampoline group decreased from 3.13±1.01 to 2.37±1.11, the Togu group decreased from 3.78±0.85 to 3.78±0.85, the Balance Board group decreased from 1.78±0.82 to 1.65±0.59 and the Control group decreased from 1.77±1.16 to 1.61±0.62. Conclusion : The effectiveness improved in the order Togu group, Trampoline group, Balance Board group and Control group from the result of the balance training about difference of slope shoulder.

This is a cross-sectional study to evaluate the serum lipid levels of children living in Pusan in 1996. The distribution of age is from 2 years old to 12 years old. In female children mean total cholesterol is $171.4{\pm}26.2mg/dl$, triglyceride is $104.7{\pm}50.6mg/dl$, HDL-cholesterol is $54.4{\pm}14.8mg/dl$, and LDL-cholesterol is $95.4{\pm}32.9mg/dl$. In male children mean total cholesterol is $167.9{\pm}25.2mg/dl$, triglyceride is $6{\pm}45.5mg/dl$, HDL-cholesterol is $55.4{\pm}11.7mg/dl$, and LDL-cholesterol is $94.4{\pm}23.6mg/dl$. The percentile of serum lipid levels is measured in children. The 95th percentile of serum total cholesterol is 210mg/d1 in male children, and 214mg/d1 in female children. And, the 95th percentile of serum triglyceride is 184mg/d1 in male children, and 191mg/d1 in female children. And, the 95th percentile of LDL-cholesterol is 133mg/d1 in male children, and 135mg/d1 in female children. Serum total cholesterol is positively .Elated to age(r=0.18), height(r=0.08), weight (r=0.17), obesity index(r=0.12), and negatively .elated to father's education level (r=-0.13), mother's education level(r=-0.13). Serum triglyceride is positively related to weight(r=0.23), age(r=0.31) and negatively .elated to father's education level(r=-0.12), mother's education level(r=-0.18). Serum HDL-C was positively reated to mother's education level(r=0.07) and negatively .elated to height(r=-0.12), weight(r=-0.09). Conclusively, the serum lipid levels of children living in Pusan is generally so high that the family and school must try to control the serum lipid levels. 본 연구는 부산지역 소아의 연령별 혈청지질치의 분포와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 단면조사연구로서 1996년 4월에 2세부터 12세의 941명을 대상으로 혈청 지질을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 평균 혈청지질치 혈청지질치는 여아의 경우 총콜레스테롤 $171.4{\pm}26.2mg/dl$, 중성지방 $104.7{\pm}50.6mg/dl,\;LDL-C\;95.4{\pm}32.9mg/dl$로 남아의 $167.9{\pm}25.2mg/dl,\;90.6{\pm}45.5mg/dl,\;94.4{\pm}23.6mg/dl$보다 높았다. 총콜레스테롤 (p<0.05)과 중성지방(p<0.01)에서는 여아에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. HDL-C은 남아가 $55.4{\pm}11.7mg/dl$로 여아의 $54.4{\pm}14.8mg/dl$보다 높았다. 2. 혈청지질치의 백분위수 소아의 혈청지질치의 백분위수는 총콜레스테롤의 경우 95퍼센타일이 남아에서 210mg/dl, 여아의 경우 214mg/d1로 미국에서 보고된 남아의 191mg/dl과 여아의 209mg/dl보다 오히려 높았다. 3. 혈청 지질과 비만도 경도 비만군과 중등도 비만군이 정상군보다 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, LDL-C 등에서 의미있게 높았고, HDL-C에서 의미있게 낮았다(p<0.05). 4. 혈청 지질과 부모의 학력 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, LDL-C은 아버지의 최종학력이 높을수록 의미 있게 감소하였고(p<0.05), 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, LDL-C은 어머니의 최종학력이 높을수록 의미 있게 감소하였고(p<0.01), HDL-C은 어머니의 최종학력이 높을수록 통계학적으로 의미있게 증가하였다(p<0.05).
Dry Etching of Germanium Using Inductively Coupled Ar/CCl2F2 /Cl2 Plasma

In this study, the etch characteristics of Ge are investigated using inductively coupled Ar/CCl2F2/Cl2 plasmas. The etch rate, surface morphology and subtended angle obtained with different etching conditions are presented. The etch rate of Ge increases from 374 Å/min to 520 Å/min as the ICP power increases from 400 to 700W, whereas the etching rate of Ge decreases from 524 Å/min to 400 Å/min as CCl2F2 flow increases from 40 sccm to 80 sccm. In addition, the etching rate of Ge decreases from 467 Å/min to 400 Å/min as the Cl2 flow increases from 0 sccm to 20 sccm. As the ICP power increases the subtended angle also increases. According to SEM imagery Ar/CCl2F2/Cl2 ICP etching leads to the presence of carbon-based material in the form of large particles.
Fabrication of PIN Photo-Diode from Si0.2Ge0.8/Si strained MQWs

A pin photo-diode was fabricated from the Si0.2Ge0.8/Si strained multiple quantum-well (MQW) structure grown by using ultra high vacuum chemical vapor deposition (UHV-CVD). The structural properties of the Si0.2Ge0.8/Si strained MQW were investigated using high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD). Specifically, the recent advances in the dry etching of Si0.2Ge0.8/Si strained MQW have been used to define pin photo-diode active layer mesas. The current-voltage (I-V) characteristic of pin photodiodes fabricated from these MQWs was measured. Also, the spectral response spectrum of pin photodiodes was measured at room temperature.
