      • Effect of Fertilizer Levels on Growth Characters, Dry Matter Yield and Nutrient Quality of Forage Rape in Spring Sowing

        To find out the optimum fertilizer level for high yielding variety, Velox, experiment was conducted with 15 compositions of fertilizer levels at the experiment field of forage crop in Sunchon National University from Mar. 2000 to Aug. 2000. The effects of nitrogen fertilizer on plant growth were significant but increasing rate of application in potassium and phosphate fertilizers above 6 kg/a had negligible effects on plant growth. The optimum nitrogen application level of fertilizers turned out to be 16-6-6 kg/l0a of N-P2O5-K5O. Content of crude protein was highest and that of crude fiber such as NDF, ADF, cellulose and lignin were lowest at this rate of fertilizer application.         Two different wet etching solutions, NaOH 40% and Acid, were used for etching in tri-crystalline Silicon(Tri-Si) solar cell fabrication. The wafers etched in NaOH40% solution showed higher reflectance compared to the wafers etched in Acid solution after SiN_x deposition. In light current-voltage results, the cells etched in Acid solution exhibited higher short circuit current and open circuit voltage than those of the cells etched in NaOH 40% solution. We have obtained 16.70% conversion efficiency in large area(156cm²) Tri-Si solar cells etched in Acid solution.

        1.Symptoms of Fusarium leaf spot (Fusarium nivale) were found in the new leading rice variety Tong-il in the farmers field at Kim-po and Kum-kok in the Summer of 1971. Isolation of the organisms from the diseased leaf lesions, identification, and artificial inoculation on the seedlings were made in this study. 2.The isolated caudal organism was identified as Fusarium nivalew which is widely distributed in paddy fields in the Souts East Asian countries. Perfect stage forming perithecia in which ascospores exist was found. 3.A severe infection was observed in the new leading variety Tong-il as compared to the local variety Pung-kwang. This means that varietal differences for the disease resistance are existent. 4.The disease infection on the seedling was easily completed when plants were in jured. It was found that considerably long time for spore germination and mycelial in vasion into plant tissue was required. 5.Ingeneral, infection was significantly promoted by spore suspension added various nutrients, such as leaf extract, glucose, polypeptone and yeast extract, especially leaf extract and yeast extract were most effective among the nutrients added. 6.Spore germination, anastomosis and vigorous mycelial development were significantly improved by nutrients added to the spore suspension and this may affect increase in infection.

        Classification of fingerprints is one of the major subjects on which many researchers have been studying for efficient identification, But fingerprints should be preprocessed in various ways prior to being classified. Factors such as the accuracy and the processing time should be considered in classified. Factors such as the accuracy and the processing time should be considered in classification of fingerprints. In this paper, we propose a method for classifying fingerprints into several frequent patterns. This method consists of two stages. A fingerprint image is first converted to a skeleton form to find out the center. Then it is identified as a member of one of preclassified pattern by the frequency domain feature. Experiments show that the proposed method is quite useful in classifying fingerprints into typical patterns

      • 경부의 근력트레이닝과 탈 트레이닝이 경부근력에 미치는 영향

        Effects of neck muscle training and their changes after discontinuation of training(detraining) were studied in 22 athletes (college American football playeres) and 19 non-athletes. The subjects underwent narrow grip shoulder shrug training using free weights(NGSS group). isometric training of the neck in pairs(PAIR group), or both types of training (COMB group) for 14 weeks, and were then detrained during the following 14 weeks. Extension and flexion muscle strength(maximum isometric muscle strength) of the neck were measured using a method in which subjects pulled a wire attached over the head in a sitting position at 2-week intervals after the start of training. The following results were obtained. 1. In the athletes. the flexion muscle strength increased by 16.9=5.6%(mean=standard deviation) in the COMB group and by 14.8=5.2% in the NGSS group. and the increases in these groups were significantly greater than the increase in the PAIR group(p<.01). The extension mus칟 strength also increased, most notably in the COMB group(12.2±4.7%). 2. In the non-athletes. the flexion muscle strength increased by 29.4±7.2% in the COMB group. and this increase was significantly greater than that in the PAIR group(p<.01). This increase was also significantly greater than that in the COMB group of the athletes(p<.01). The extension muscle strength increased by 1.1±5.2% in the COMB group. 3. In the athletes. the flexion muscle strength of the COMB group was increased by 8.3% after 14 weeks of training and 14 weeks of detraining as compared with that at the start of training. In the non-athletes. the flexion and extension muscle strength of the COMB group increased by 17.4% and 9.8%, respectively, after the start of training. These results suggest that narrow grip shoulder shrug training used for the development of muscle strength in the lower neck is effective for improving flexion as well as extension muscle strength. and that the decrease in muscle strength due to detraining can be reduced by combining this training with isometric training performed by the PAIR group.

      • 레지스탕스 트레이닝에서 고속도 운동이 근횡단 면적 및 운동속도에 미치는 영향

        A conducted to determine 1) the effect of high-velocity mowement in resistance training with a constant load on the velocity of movement after training and 2) the differences in the effect on muscle hypertrophy according to training velocity. Fourteen of the total subjects (male ; n=10, female ; n=7) were placed in the experimental group and agreed to participate in 8 weeks of training sessions(4 times a week). Five of the 17 subjects were in control a group before the training session. Subjects perfrmed elbow extension and flexion exercise using 50% of one repetitions and 30s of rest was taken between the sets. The subjects in the experimental group trained their arms using two different protocols ; one was high-velocity movement performed as rapidly as possibl(Type R), the other was low-velocity movement performed at a constant and slow velocity(Type R), the other was low-velocity movement performed at a constant and slow velocity(Type R), the other was low-velocity movement performed at a constant and slow velocity(Type S). Isokinetic torque in elbow flexion was measured at angular velocities of 60, 180, 300 deg/s, respectively, during elbow flexion performed under different constant loads of 0, 30, 50% 1 RM, and the muscle cross-sectional area(CSA) of the elbow flexor was determined before and after training. It was found that Type R did not increased isokinetic torque at 300 deg/s significantly after training. However, the increase in angular velocity of elbow flexion in Type R exercise tended to be higher than in Type S exercise. The increased in CSA [Type S ; 11.2%, Type R ; 14.2%] was significantly higher in Type R exercise(p<.05). These results suggest that high-velocity movement with a constant load in resistance training might increase the angular velocity of movement in the same mode, but might not produce a change in isokinetic strength, which involves a different mode of muscle contraction. Muscle hypertrophy would be induced to a greater extent by. high-velocity movement than by low-velocity movement in resistance training with a constant load.

      • 몇가지 작물중 침투성 살충제 Carbofuran의 잔류량 분석

        In order to ascertain the safety of the systemic insecticide carbofuran - treated crops. garlic, peanut and potato were collected randomly from markets near the major producing farms and analyzed for the residues of carbofuran and its main metabolite, 3-hydroxycarbofuran. The in vitro metabolism of carbofuran in phosphate buffer extracts of the crops was investigated. The results obtained were as follows. 1.The recoveries of carbofuran and 3- hydroxycarbofuran from the spiked samples were 92~ 100% in all samples. The detection limit and minimum amount of carbofuran detected were 0.02ppm and 0.1ng, and those of 3-hydroxycarbofuran 0.06ppm and 0.3ng, respectively. 2.Two mature garlic samples out of 20 contained 0.13 and 0.07ppm of carbofuran, respectively, showing a detection frequancy of 10%. The residue level was less than the maximum residue limit(0.5ppm) set by the health authorities in Korea. Only one mature garlic sample out of 20 contained 0.13ppm of 3-hydroxycarbofuran. 3.The residues of carbofuran and 3-hydroxycarbofuran in the immature garlic, peanut and potato samples were less than the detection limits. 4.The application of carbofuran to the fields of garlic, peanut and potato would be safe, considering that the estimated maximum acceptable daily intake of carbofuran from garlic was 0.0007mg which is 0.13% of the maximum acceptable daily intake(0.55mg) . 5.Carbofuran was hydrolyzed in vitro mainly to carbofuran phenol(m/z 164) in phosphate buffer extracts of the three crops in contrast to the major oxidative metabolism in situ. The amount of the metabolite increased with the incubation time.

        Studies were conducted to investigate the response of some horticultural plants to various light qualities provided by different kind of materials such as cellophane sheets, EVA, PVC(polyvinyl chloride,. and polyethylene (FE) films of different color. Major findings are summarized as follows. White fluorescence light and red light promoted seed germination of lettuce and inhibited that of radish seeds. Blue light inhibited the seed germination of both types of light-sensitive seeds. The light sensitivity varied considerably depending upon the kind of crops, cultivars, and the seed batches of the same cultivar. The blue light was equally or more strongly effective in inhibiting the seed germination as compared to the farred light. The growth of young seedlings developed from seeds was considerably promoted when grown under orange colored plastic film coverings The growth of larger seedlings was, however. not influenced by the color of plastic films Mulching pepper field with colored PVC film did not show further advantages over the commonly -used black PE film. Herbicidal activity of oxyfluorfen was very strong under natural light or red light conditions, and weak under blue or green light conditions The degree of oxyfluorfen-induced phytotoxicity varied considerably depending upon the light quality and the kind of vegetable crops.

      • PIV의 수리학 분야에의 적용

        This paper introduces PIV technique which can be used for velocity measurement in hydraulic engineering field. Some examples are presented : measurement of surface velocity using LSPIV ; measurement of flow characteristics and fall-velocity measurement using PTV. Results show that PIV can be applied widely to hydraulic engineering measurements, not only in the laboratory but also in the field.
