Frequency control is one of the challenges in wind turbine generation. One frequency control method used by wind turbine generators (WTGs) is droop control. In the droop control method, various strategies have been devised to continually update the droop gain to suit the current situation. This study proposes a modifed droop control method that uses the advantages of two variable droop control strategies based on the system frequency deviation: the rate of change of frequency (ROCOF)- based method and the frequency-dependent method. Moreover, limits were set in the droop gain value based on the rotor speed. The proposed ROCOF-based frequency-dependent droop control strategy aims at maximizing the frequency nadir improvement with a quick primary frequency response reaction time while preventing secondary frequency drop or stall of the turbines. These improvements can be used to increase wind penetration in the system, allowing for the reduction of fossil fuel use. The frequency regulation performance of the proposed droop control strategy was compared with other droop control methods in the MATLAB/Simulink environment using a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) WTG model based on the National Renewable Energy Laboratory Fatigue, Aerodynamics, Structures, and Turbulence model.

<P>This study reports a rapid screening method for the prediction of oral drug bioavailability in humans based on combined immobilized artificial membrane (IAM) chromatographic capacity factor (k<SUB>IAM</SUB>) and in vitro stability in hepatic microsomes. The fraction of drug absorbed (F<SUB>a</SUB>) in humans was predicted for a set of 15 structurally diverse commercial drugs based on k<SUB>IAM</SUB> values using a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile: Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline. The hepatic intrinsic clearance (CL<EM><SUB>int</SUB><SUP>′</SUP></EM>) was calculated from in vitro disappearance half-life, and the oral bioavailability was predicted using in vitro hepatic clearance (CL<SUB>h</SUB>) and F<SUB>a</SUB>. Significant correlations were observed for the relationships between predicted hepatic extraction ratios (ER<SUB>h</SUB>) and actual presystemic metabolism (r = 0.854) and between predicted and observed oral bioavailabilities (r = 0.805; p < 0.01). The IAM capacity factor together with the hepatic microsomal disappearance half-life may be useful in identifying compounds with high oral absorption potential in early drug discovery processes. 본 연구에서는 유도초음파를 이용하여 열 교환기와 증기발생기 튜브의 결함을 비파괴적으로 탐상하고 그 크기를 산정하였다. 이론적인 해석을 위해 인코넬(Inconel) 튜브에 대한 위상 및 군속도 분산선도를 Longitudinal 모드와 Flexural 모드에 대해 구하였다. 튜브의 원주방향 레이저노치와 튜브 지지대 하단의 방전가공결함(EDM wear)을 각각 비대칭 및 대칭 탐촉자 세트를 사용하여 탐상하였다. 실험결과 방전가공결함은 L(0, 2), L(0, 3), L(0, 4) 모드로 탐상되었으며, 그 중 L(0, 4) 모드가 결함으로부터 가장 잘 반사되었다. 레이저노치의 경우에는 L(0, 1) 모드 주변의 Flexural 모드가 결함을 탐상하고 크기를 산정하는데 사용될 수 있음을 보였다. This study shows the defect detection and sizing capability of ultrasonic guided waves in the nondestructive inspection of heat exchanger and steam generator tubing. Phase and group velocity dispersion curves for the longitudinal and flexural modes of a sample Inconel tube were presented for the theoretical analysis. EDM(Electric Discharge Machining wears in tubing under a tube support plate and circumferential laser notches in tubing were detected by an axisymmetric and a non-axisymmetric transducer set up, respectively. EDM wears were detected with L (0, 2), L(0, 3) and L(0, 4) modes and among them L(0, 4) mode was found to be the most sensitive. It was also found that the flexural modes around L(0, 1) mode could be sued for the detection and sizing of laser notches in the tubing.

<P>Low sensitivity to the acute effects of alcohol is a known risk factor for alcoholism. However, little is known concerning potential information-processing routes by which this risk factor might contribute to increased drinking. We tested the hypothesis that low-sensitivity (LS) participants would show biased attention to alcohol cues, compared with their high-sensitivity (HS) counterparts. Participants performed a task in which alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage cues were presented bilaterally followed by a target that required categorization by color. Response times were faster for targets appearing in alcohol-cued than non-alcohol-cued locations for LS but not for HS participants. Event-related potential markers of early attention orienting (P1 amplitude) and subsequent attention reorienting (ipsilateral invalid negativity amplitude) indicated preferential selective attention to alcohol-cued locations among LS individuals. Controlling for recent drinking and family history of alcoholism did not affect these patterns, except that among HS participants, relatively heavy recent drinking was associated with difficulty reorienting attention away from alcohol-cued locations. These findings suggest a potential information-processing bias through which low sensitivity could lead to heavy alcohol involvement.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Microalgae, <I>Scenedesmus bijuga</I>, was cultivated in anaerobically digested food wastewater effluent (FWE) to treat the wastewater and produce biodiesel simultaneously. Three different mixing ratios with municipal wastewater were compared for finding out proper dilution ratio in biodiesel production. Of these, 1/20 diluted FWE showed the highest biomass production (1.49g/L). Lipid content was highest in 1/10 diluted FWE (35.06%), and the lipid productivity showed maximum value in 1/20 diluted FWE (15.59mg/L/d). Nutrient removal was also measured in the cultivation. FAME compositions were mainly composed of C16–C18 (Over 98.94%) in <I>S. bijuga</I>. <P>A rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) method was developed and validated for the determination of roxatidine in human plasma. Roxatidine was extracted by single liquid-liquid extraction with tert-butyl methyl ether, and the chromatographic separation was performed on a C<SUB>8</SUB> column. The total analytical run time was relatively short (5 min), and the limit of assay quantification was 2 ng/mL using 0.1 mL of human plasma. Roxatidine and the internal standard, propranolol, were monitored in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode at m/z 307.3 and 260.3, respectively. The standard curve was linear over a concentration range from 2–500 ng/mL, and the correlation coefficients were >0.999. The mean intra- and inter-day assay accuracy ranged from 103.4–108.8% and 102.3–110.0%, respectively, and the mean intra- and inter-day precision was between 3.3–8.8% and 5.3–6.2%, respectively. The developed assay method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study in human volunteers after oral administration of roxatidine acetate hydrochloride at a dose of 75 mg. IP 기반 융합서비스를 위한 서비스 충돌 감지 및 해결에 대한 연구

기존 전화망을 기반으로 하는 통신 시스템(telecommunication system)에서 전화 사용자의 편의를 제공하기 위하여 각종 서비스의 상호작용에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔음은 주지의 사실이다. 최근 들어 IP 기반 통신망의 보급과 이와 관련된 다양한 IPTV 미디어 제공 서비스의 다양화에 따라 개별 서비스의 융합을 지원하기 위한 서비스간 상호작용에 대한 연구의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구에 부응하기 위하여 IP 기반 통신망상에서 다양한 사용자의 요구 만족과 서비스 제공자의 서비스 개발 및 운영을 지원할 수 있도록 서비스 사이에서의 상호작용 및 서비스 충돌을 감지(detection)하고 해결(resolution)하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 제시된 알고리즘에서 융합 서비스간의 충돌감지를 위한 서비스 상호작용을 감지하고, 감지된 서비스와 관련되는 각종 규약(rules)을 다단계에 걸쳐 적용함으로써 신규 서비스의 등록 및 운영상에서 발생될 수 있는 충돌을 해결한다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 알고리즘을 다양한 현실 서비스 제공 시나리오에 적용하여 융합 서비스간 충돌을 감지하고 해결할 수 있음을 보임으로써 개발된 알고리즘이 IP 기반 통신망에서의 융합 서비스 운영에 적용될 수 있음을 검증한다.

The fate of Listeria monocytogenes was determined during kimchi fermentation and in the presence of kimchi ingredients. The lag phase was increased in tryptic soy broth at 35℃ in the presence of 3% garlic, ginger, and NaCl, but not in the presence of 5% red pepper. Low levels(10^5 CFU/㎖) of kimchi microflora did not inhibit thegrowth of Listeria in brain heart infusion (BHI) broth at 35℃. The growth of L. monocytogenes was inhibited in BHI troth containing a mixture of kimchi ingredients and 3% (wt/vol) NaCl at 21℃. During kimchi fermentation at 21 and 35℃, the numbers of viable cells of L. monocytogenes increased for the first 2 days of fermentation, but decreased during the next 10 days. The decrease at 35℃ was more rapid. L. monocytogenes was largely inactivated by kimchi ingredients and low pH, but viable cells still remained after 10 days of fermentation. These results show that kimchi is a safe product with respect to low levels of Listeria contamination which can be achieved by using ingredients of good microbiological quality.
