New Non-uniformity Correction Approach for Infrared Focal Plane Arrays Imaging
Qu Hui-Ming,Gong Jing-tan,Huang Yuan,Chen Qian 한국광학회 2013 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.17 No.2
Although infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) detectors have been commonly used, non-uniformity correction (NUC) remains an important problem in the infrared imaging realm. Non-uniformity severely degrades image quality and affects radiometric accuracy in infrared imaging applications. Residual non-uniformity (RNU) significantly affects the detection range of infrared surveillance and reconnaissance systems. More effort should be exerted to improve IRFPA uniformity. A novel NUC method that considers the surrounding temperature variation compensation is proposed based on the binary nonlinear non-uniformity theory model. The implementing procedure is described in detail. This approach simultaneously corrects response nonlinearity and compensates for the influence of surrounding temperature shift. Both qualitative evaluation and quantitative test comparison are performed among several correction technologies. The experimental result shows that the residual non-uniformity, which is corrected by the proposed method,is steady at approximately 0.02 percentage points within the target temperature range of 283 K to 373K. Real-time imaging shows that the proposed method improves image quality better than traditional techniques.

This study investigates the hepatoprotectiveeffects and the potential therapeutic mechanisms of loach(Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) lyophilized powder (MLP)on dimethylnitrosamine (DMN) induced liver fibrosis inrats. After treatment with MLP (50, 100, 200 mg/kg),alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), albumin (Alb), total protein (TP) andhydroxyproline (Hyp) levels were detected, to assess thedestruction of hepatocytes and the extent of liver fibrosis. Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), hyaluronic acid (HA), Laminin (LN),procollagen type-III (PC-III), collagen type-IV (C-IV), andtransforming growth factor-b1 (TGF-b1) contents in serumwere all tested using ELISA kits. Alpha-smooth muscleactin (a-SMA) and the tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) protein contents and distribution wereevaluated using western blot and immunohistochemicalanalysis. MLP significantly decreased the serum concentrationsof ALT, AST, Hyp, HA, LN, PC-III, C-IV, MMP-2,TIMP-1, a-SMA and TGF-b1, while increasing the contentsof Alb and MMP-9. No significant changes on TP serum concentrations were observed. These results suggest thatMLP has anti-hepatic fibrosis effects and its mechanism maybe associated with the attenuation of extracellular matrix(ECM) synthesis, the acceleration of ECM degradation, inhibition of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation andTGF-b1 expression.
Combination of canagliflozin and puerarin alleviates the lipotoxicity to diabetic kidney in mice

Diabetic kidney disease is one of the most serious complications of diabetes. Although diabetic kidney disease can be effectively controlled through strict blood glucose management and corresponding symptomatic treatment, these therapies cannot reduce its incidence in diabetic patients. The sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and the traditional Chinese herb “Gegen” have been widely used in diabetes-related therapy. However, it remains unclear whether the combined use of these two kinds of medicines contributes to an increased curative effect on diabetic kidney disease. In this study, we examined this issue by evaluating the efficacy of the combination of puerarin, an active ingredient of Gegen, and canagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor for a 12-week intervention using a mouse model of diabetes. The results indicated that the combination of puerarin and canagliflozin was superior to canagliflozin alone in improving the metabolic and renal function parameters of diabetic mice. Our findings suggested that the renoprotective effect of combined puerarin and canagliflozin in diabetic mice was achieved by reducing renal lipid accumulation. This study provides a new strategy for the clinical prevention and treatment of diabetic kidney disease. The puerarin and SGLT2 inhibitor combination therapy at the initial stage of diabetes may effectively delay the occurrence of diabetic kidney injury, and significantly alleviate the burden of renal lipotoxicity

Hereditary non-polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) is an autosomal dominant inheritance syndrome. HNPCC is the most common hereditary variant of colorectal cancer (CRC), which accounts for 2-5% CRCs, mainly due to hMLH1 and hMSH2 mutations that impair DNA repair functions. Our study aimed to identify the patterns of hMSH2 and hMLH1 mutations in Chinese HNPCC patients. Ninety-eight unrelated families from China meeting Amsterdam or Bethesda criteria were included in our study. Germline mutations in MLH1 and MSH2 genes, located in the exons and the splice-site junctions, were screened in the 98 probands by direct sequencing. Eleven mutations were found in ten patients (11%), with six in MLH1 (54.5%) and five in MSH2 (45.5%) genes. One patient had mutations in both MLH1 and MSH2 genes. Three novel mutations in MLH1 gene (c.157_160delGAGG, c.2157dupT and c.-64G>T) were found for the first time, and one suspected hotspot in MSH2 (c.1168C>T) was revealed. Trichoderma harzianum 88, a filamentous soil fungus, is an effective biocontrol agent against several plant pathogens. High-throughput sequencing was used here to study the mycoparasitism mechanisms of T. harzianum 88. Plate confrontation tests of T. harzianum 88 against plant pathogens were conducted, and a cDNA library was constructed from T. harzianum 88 mycelia in the presence of plant pathogen cell walls. Randomly selected transcripts from the cDNA library were compared with eukaryotic plant and fungal genomes. Of the 1,386 transcripts sequenced, the most abundant Gene Ontology (GO) classification group was “physiological process”. Differential expression of 19 genes was confirmed by real-time RT-PCR at different mycoparasitism stages against plant pathogens. Gene expression analysis revealed the transcription of various genes involved in mycoparasitism of T. harzianum 88. Our study provides helpful insights into the mechanisms of T. harzianum 88-plant pathogen interactions.
Bolt Loosening Localization at Flange Joints Using Wind-Induced Response for High-Rise Tower
Baifeng Ji,Qian Xiong,Panpan Xing,Penghui Qiu,Wei-lian Qu 한국강구조학회 2021 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.21 No.5
Under long term wind load, the bolt looseness occurring at the joints of tower legs will reduce the wind-resistant capability, increasing the wind-induced displacement responses and aff ecting the serviceability of the high-rise steel tower. In order to detect the bolt looseness locations of the fl ange assembling joints of leg members in high-rise steel tubular tower structures, a new bolt loosening localization at fl ange joints method using wind-induced response for high-rise tower was presented in this paper. Wind-induced vertical strain response root variance of fl ange assembling joint on the tower vertical bar is defi ned as the identifi cation parameter of the bolt looseness damage. Then, the normalized wind-induced vertical strain response root variance is defi ned as the damage index of bolt loose-ness damage, thereby eliminating the impact of wind loads of diff erent magnitudes on damage identifi cation. When the damage index exceeds the threshold, it can be considered that the bolt looseness damage occurs in fl ange assembling joint, thereby to realize the damage identifi cation. The results both numerical analyses of a practical transmission tower and scaled model wind tunnel experiment of a steel tubular tower show that the proposed method is effi cient and noise immunity on the bolt looseness location detection for high-rise tower.

A heterostructural composite composed of g-C3N4 and Bi2O3 was achieved by the one-pot and thermal-induced polycondensation method using melamine and Bi(NO3)3 as precursor at 550 ℃ under air atmosphere. The crystalline phase, components and morphologies of the as-prepared composites were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Besides, the photocatalytic activity of composites was evaluated by degrading RhB aqueous solution at room temperature under visible light irradiation. Compared with bulk g-C3N4, the photocatalytic efficiency of the 0.5% Bi2O3/g-C3N4 (Bi–CN) was increased by up to four times. The introduction of Bi2O3 enhances not only the light absorption ability, but also the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs.
